Bucky O'Hare is a real technical and artistic achievement on the NES, and providing the difficulty level doesn't blow you away, the fantastic gameplay surely will.

It truly is a fantastic game!
      Great Soundtrack, Graphics, Gameplay, Control...
But *DAMN* ,it isn't afraid to kick your ass a lot!
If only it was on the _NES Classic_ , That'd be amazing!

I remember playing this game in 1992 when it came out. And I enjoyed it very much. But sadly I could never beat it. This is a pretty tough and brutal game with its level of difficulty. But its awesome to see someone else beat it so I can see the ending.

Why don't you give it it a shot with some emulator and quick save/quick load option? I finished a lot of games that way which seemed impossible to be beaten when I was a kid😊

A difficult, but fair game, thanks to unlimited continues, and plentiful checkpoints throughout the levels that ensure you never have to start far from where you died. This is one of the great NES games that found an audience years later. Again, it just shows how much care Konami put into almost all of their licenses. Fantastic graphics that almost seem to defy the hardware, especially how there is really no major slowdown even when there are multiple objects on the screen, and a fantastic soundtrack.

Dare I say, one of the best on the classic 8-bit console. So much polish! I love how you can switch characters like in Ufouria/Hebereke or Tiny Toon Adventures too. @@NintendoComplete and speaking of bosses, Konami games usually have easy final bosses from the games I've played (well ofc that stereotype isn't always true).

I once played this in the 90s, thinking it was the Bucky O'Hare arcade game. Was extremely disappointed 😅

It sounds crazy, but I firmly believe this game benefits from Cinemassacre's, mainly Mike Matei's, coverage of it. It's the opposite of games like Roger Rabbit and Dr Jekyll where it's praised rather than hated by people who have only ever watched people play it. I myself can admit this, as I've never had the opportunity before the rise of emulation, but recognize it's potential just by seeing it in action. I did not know, however, that it was directed by the founder of Treasure, which means I really need to actually take the time to experience it now. I see Treasure in the 90s akin to the John Carpenter in the 80s and consider their games early examples of how games could be art without having to rely at all on cinematic or literary techniques that need to push gameplay out of the spotlight in order to shine.
