You're actually not explaining what you were doing with the sub timings , don't forget that not everyone has the same kits of ram as yours and most importantly not everyone is familiar with all this, you should break it down slowly maybe in two separate videos or going deeper to prevent copying from you the exact same numbers that probably won't work at all for every one especialy the timings you didn't really explained those

he doesnt need to explain timings, its over complicated. If youre smart enough youd know you wont copy timings and would go research about what values are the best for each die kit
You should have shown a game example of a new title like Call of Duty or something. After playing it for a few hours l. This is the best tutorial I have seen on what you have to do. I have watched many do tutorials with so many skipped steps.

with xmp it overclocks to 3200mhz
can i still overclock
i can set to 3233mhz and 3333mhz pc runs with no problem
my vddcr soc voltage is auto it shows 1.00v
my dram voltage shows 1.35v and yellow
i have amd 5900x
i have asus prime x 570-p
my cpu core ratio os 44.00
vddcr cpu voltage manual i put 1.21250
what i should do

@@gorkman5697 most ram can do 1.4v and some can go up to 1.45v. For your MHz that all depends on your ram. My Gskill Neo's I can OC to 4000MHz but I also have to up my timings. to reach that. My understanding is you would rather have 3200 with lower/ tighter timings to get better fps. But when I OC mine there was very little fps gain.

@@gorkman5697 I just used the dram voltage but remember if your trying to OC from like 3200 to 3800MHz it's always best to use timing from a similar ram kit at 3600MHz or 4000Mhz depending on your timing you are trying to OC the MHz to.
example. you will have to change your timings to the 4000MHz with a 1.45v or 3600MHz ram timings if you are trying to do 3600MHz.

What if you have samsung die for one set of 2x 16gb sticks dual rand and the other 2 stick are single rank micron 2x 16gb? Will they work for OCing? The ratings are 3200mhz kit.

Thanks for the tutorial bro, this is very detailed RAM OC tutorial i've ever seen. Believe it or not now I'm Running my G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-2666C19S-8GVR Hynix AFR at 3900MHz 18-22-22-41 stable. AIDA64 Benchmark shows that my OC'ed RAM is almost same level of performance of a G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4000MHz CL18. This boost performance a lot in my games such as PUBG and Valorant. In my opinion this tutorial is not for very "Beginner", its a little bit complicated but im good i know the basics of RAM Overclocking.

Overclocking definitely has the possibility of damaging the hardware or reducing the life span, but if you do it correctly and you know what you are doing it should be safe, from my experience if you do it correctly, this will not damage your hardware in just two months or a year or two.

@@quintink484 In cpu intensive part of the map, a big city like pochinki, Los leones or when you hot drop. I get boost from ±75 after oc i get ±110.

In my opinion ram speed does virtually nothing for higher framerates.
I have seen game tests with 1600Mhz ram up to 5000ghz ram with just a 5 fps difference
depends what game. if you already have a good cpu i dont think you will see much performance improvements other than lower cpu usage for multi tasking. some games use more cpu. i may be wrong but i dont think it does much to improve gpu performance
I thought the same until I played Tarkov. Ram speed tripled my fps. And I'm running ryzen 7 8 core and 4080.

When my rig was tanking hard on Tarkov I looked at the performance tab on task manager and noticed 26 gigs of ram being used and about 20 percent of my gpu ram and 30 of my cpu. I said the same stuff you're saying when I went to bios just to turn up the rams frequency. Much to my amazement, I went from 30 fps to 120.

So the 120 fps is pretty normal.
What i ment is that nobody would never at 120fps would get triple fps with a ram increase.

Well, you are young so you will have a great future about OCkling. I noticed several errors. Your mobo seems to not be training well. it’s too fast. It’You need to train all the parameters that not always are open to modify by BIOS dev. Also, is not just boost voltages, but settings CTL, Skwes, ODTs, resistance, the lower, the strongest and it would help to stabilize voltages. Also, it’s not a good practice to go to ver very low register, instead it would be better to follow JEFECs rules to calculate secondaries and tertiaries. TFAW at 16 it’s an error. RTP was replaced by RDPFEN, and so on. There are a lot of rules to avoid instabilities. You should try your-cruncher VST+VT3 for 30 min, then TM5 1usmus x25 and if you want also HCI or Karhu. 1usmus has an error list and it’s easy to find what could be the issue to fix. My 2c

Brother I have a intel i7 7th gen laptop. I’ve installed 32gb ddr4 3200mhz ram but in the task manager it says speed is 2133mhz . How can I get the max speed of 3200mhz? Because in the bios there’s no option to select rams and xmp
you probably should have checked that before purchasing the ram... depending on your laptop there should be 'advanced options' in the bios. if you don't see that or there is no options to enable it then i would suggest returning the ram. i would look for different sticks, the recommended jedec spec for i7 7th gen laptops is 2400mhz. if it's an msi gaming laptop there is a keyboard sequence one can type in the bios and it will enable the 'advanced options' menu. either way i7 7th gen maxes out at maybe 2800-3000mhz(closer to 2800 imo) if the i7 chips IMC (itegrated memory controller) can even handle it. Ram is also dependent on the bin lottery the advertised speeds aren't guaranteed. there are multiple factors and the bin lottery for the CPU and Ram chips have a lot to do with how well one's system can overclock.
with my old gt72vr with a 6820hk i was able to overclock the stock ram sk hynix "a die" to 2500mhz cl13 1.2v(stock).

You should probably find out, what memory dies (what vendor and which revision) they are and what the safe maximum voltage is for both of them and use the lower one. Then just follow guide in finding speed and then dropping timings.

im abit late but, it's because you're on the most garbage motherboard to be memory overclocking sadly, you need a z490 to do this for your CPU anyway since its locked.
Could you also make a tutorial with a Asus mobo?

Overclocking ram is the last part of the puzzle for me to learn.... but it's so much scarier than cpu or gpu because of the corrupted files potential and like being totally unable to boot without resetting cmos type deal back to default... like one misstep, boom everything gone
I want to up my ddr3 Ram from 1866 to 2133 since I saw around 2~4 fps increases but also 0.1% lows increase in games
5:44 qlthough this screen indicates don't have to reset cmos? I've never seen this screen before with cpu overclocking, it's always a watchdog or whea bsod and never resets to default
It’s not that bad with corruption as people say when I first started learning I had many mistakes but found out data corruption is in a very rare case just use aomie backupper which is free and do a disk backup before starting I had fun doing it and learned so much as well as a way snappier system
Put a usb in and save your bios settings to it after u change something. Also, u can use CMD and type in sfc /scannow and that will fix your corrupted windows files
Yeah the newer bios for MSI have a last known good setup. It's a lifesaver, for randomly trying any tune.
@@BufferOverflowz I'm a bit late with the response, but it's not as rare as you think it is if your timings are unstable any thing that is loaded into your memory will get corrupted overtime you may not see the symptoms of it but you will once you reload the same thing that contains that corrupted file that was in the memory to begin with.

you may have amd. and its not called xmp then. or your bio may just not support oc
RAM OC really takes lots lots lots of time BTW DRAM calculator is not really accurate those timings are not really the best out of your RAM and mostly loose TBH since even Same type of RAM are different in reality due to Silicon lottery. The proper RAM OC is #1 Making your RAM stable with the highest stable RAM frequency you can get #2 Loosening Secondary Timing 1st (Why? This will take a lot of time and by doing it 1st you can easily find the primary and tertiary Timings) #3 Finding your lowest stable Primary Timing #4 Lastly adjusting some important tertiary timings #5 Optional trying to stabilize a GDM disable -1/2T. Once Done trying to leave it running something like OOCT w/ AVX2 enable for the whole day for a rock solid stability if without an error... Then you might want to do a manual CPU OC by now.

you should first increase the speed [MHz] and then reduce the latency. Not the other way because the latency is based on the Speed.

Just wait, it’ll eventually load in and say failed to post after several tries, you can go back into your bios with F2 and go back to default settings and you can boot back in
After changing the dram in bios my pc won’t boot

You need to perform a CMOS Reset, same problem I had, and basically need to set your boot drive to the correct order

@@fexyfn7920 Depending on what your ram's integrated circuit, I overclocked my 2 8gb ram sticks for 2 months now and no issues at all.
Basically, It's impossible to overclock if you have a bad ram circuit and could cause damage to it.
