Thanks for the reinforcement to take an easy swing. I'm definitely guilty of tensing up and trying to "hit" the ball as hard as I can. I just got fit for new clubs. I'm 65 and only able to hit my drives about 200 yards. I was hoping the fitter would sell me a driver that would allow me to send my drives a lot farther. He took my driver and hit the ball 265 yards with a 3/4 swing and then told me he'd love to sell me a new driver but I'm the problem, not the driver. I ordered my Swing Caddy and it arrives on Monday. Looking forward to using it and learning how to hit longer drives (and iron shots) with an easy swing. I also suffer from back pain during and after a game, so I'm really hoping that the Easiest Swing approach will allow me to enjoy golf for years to come with less back discomfort.
Amazon just delivered my Swing Caddy! It really is awesome for feedback and helps to explain why I can never get more than 200 yards on a drive. My "200 yard swing" doesn't even get a click. I had to start my acceleration much earlier in the backswing to get the click. I can get up to the 240 yard setting with that earlier acceleration. Can't wait to get to an indoor golf simulator to try out my clubs with the Swing Caddy and my new Easiest Swing.
Excellent job Aaron in explaining how tension in a golf swing can cause havoc! As you suggested, I have lightened up on my grip to release as much tension as I can in my neck, shoulders, arms, and wrists! By doing this, I am able to perform an effortless swing! Well Done Aaron!
Swing Caddy is to expensive for me. Use a rope or towel, be sure to let it tap your sholder on the backswing. Good for timing and letting go of tension.
Yes indeed that is a good cheap alternative even if you have a SC or HIO it is an interesting feel as the momentum appears to make it heavier through impact.
I tried that very nice, relaxed easy swing and it felt great until I tried to hit a ball and that's when each one of them promptly hooked around to the left. So please explain to me how I combine that swinging rhythm and make sure that my arms and hands actually impact the ball in such a way that it does not hook around to the left?
It is difficult to suggest a solution without seeing the problem. However, if you were helping a beginner golfer, how would you explain what the club face was doing through impact to cause a hook? What about explaining what the club face is doing through impact to cause a slice? Could you demonstrate it?
Great video that raised a question for me. My interpretation of Easiest Swing was turn the body let the arms and club follow. This video and another one I saw said more like swing the arms let the body follow. Now I’m confused. Can you please clarify?
I guess that if we start from the viewpoint that most golfers learn to become too static in their movement, then E/S is about removing such restriction so the body turns easily. Then our concentration can be on allowing the clubhead to swing where it naturally wants to go and allowing the body to synchronise to the swinging clubhead. Hopefully, this makes sense along with an understanding that the body doesn’t lead the arms nor the arms lead the body but the aim is for a tension free coordination of the body with the clubhead.
@ yes that does help. I guess the question I want to ask is are you purposely pulling on the club with your arms and hands to accomplish the throw? Or are you keeping your arms and hands soft like noodles and just showing that if you did let go you would throw the club forward? And if your hands were tense you would not throw low in front of you. What I’ve been doing is keeping the arms and wrists very loose and passive letting them follow the rotating body. Please correct me if I’m wrong about this. Thank you for your time and patience.
Probably a wise decision!! The only time its ok to throw clubs is if you are performing this exercise - We will say it again though... only do this on your own or with professional supervision in a very, very large open area where no one or no thing will be affected. That or just grab a Swing Caddy!
@@Easiestswing thank you, it was a great lesson on where the speed should be. I think my speed is gon by the time the club head gets to the ball. Need a swing speed monitor for the off season probably. Missing / losing a lot of yards with all clubs
I used to go on a golf trip with several friends each fall and one of the players would throw his club when he hit a bad shot. Someone spoke to him to let him know that this was unacceptable, so after that he took out his fruatration with a bad shot by laying the club on the fairway and driving over it with his power cart.

@markcross1481 I find a couple of Tylenol before playing, helps a lot with aches and assorted pains.
This is my biggest problem. Thankyou.

I throw my golf clubs and it has changed my entire game ! I’m down to two clubs in the bag the rest are down in the bottom of the lake .
Makes club selection easier!! 😂

Can someone who knows the Easiest Swing Concept please help me with this? Thank you. 😊
