    Golf is so hard. Keep the left arm straight, keep your right arm tucked in, bow your wrist,weight 60/40 on your lead side etc. Thank you for a clear explanation sir👏

    It’s funny how we, as golfers conceptualize what we are trying to do when we swing. That in itself is a big issue with the average golfer. What is it that we are trying to do? The old saying of “just swing the club and let the ball get in the way” is really more important than all those so-called experts on YT are willing to tell you because they want you to sign up for their program. Not saying that they are evil because they believe in what they’re teaching. KISS, keep it simple, stupid. I love what you are doing with the easiest swing Phillip. As I’ve been on my 40 year golf journey, I’ve learned that less so is more. My hope for all those struggling golfers out there is that they find someone like easiest golf.

      Thank you for those kind and wise words. I guess that may be the difference with ES, we just want to share what Brian and I took over 100 years to learn (combined). Brian is no longer with us and I’m virtually retired. Therefore the business of what we are doing is very much secondary.

    These are some great points regarding the "swinging motion" as opposed to "achieving positions". How about thinking of the path of the swing as a track that the club head swings on. Instead of positions you get the swing on track. Relaxation is a key. Nice video.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes indeed that’s a great way to visualise your swing. Allowing the club to swing with inertia and not interfering with it is also a part of this concept.
      Glad you liked the video 👍

    Excellent point about lag Phil which was substantiated by Brian Sparks! As a senior, I really don't look for lag positions in my swing. I do try for 1/2, 3/4, and full shots however when the need calls for it. Always find something informative in your videos Phil. Keep up the good work.

    Great video. And it works, just let the club flow free and then standing up in that finished position, that really helps. Only one problem though, I release the club head to early (flip over), so the ball will go left every time. Maybe I don't rotate quick enough.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  2 місяці тому

      Ok here are a few things to check out…
      1 as you suggest yourself try turning through sooner as you may be getting trapped.
      2 go to the range and deliberately hit left (aiming straight) then hit the same amount right (still aiming straight) alternating between the two then do nothing and see if the ball goes straight
      3 finally check this video out as it may be part of the root cause.
      Good luck and thanks for following 👍

    I am one of those that struggle with too much tension in the grip, arms, etc. There are times when i find a good rhythm that is relaxed, but structured. I cant seem tot maintain that feeling, and fall back to the tense swing that pulls the club handle past the ball. Really awful with the driver, my irons are pretty good. 5 strokes of my 15 handicap are all in the driver strikes. Its so unbelievably frustrating. will continue the easy swing journey and hope it sticks

    What I like about Nicklaus's swing is that he's got the straightest line between the left shoulder and the clubhead at impact. This is the position that takes the fullest advantage of the self-squaring property of the club. If a player has a really strong grip and a big forward shaft lean at impact he's using some other method to square the clubface.

    Recently new subscriber here (66 years old), and I must admit I have never heard of swinging in time with the golf club. Can you explain this more thoroughly for me or point me to some resources where I might peruse the subject? Thank you. I'm looking forward to developing my own easiest swing.

      I would suggest you read our new book The Easiest Swing in Golf. It backs up Brian’s original book Positive Impact Golf but goes into this topic a little more referring to some of the legends of the game such as Bill Mehlhorn, Bobby Jones and coach Ernest Jones. I think it will give you all you need on your ES journey. Also consider joining the ES Club all details can be found at easiestswing.com

    The relaxed swing allows me to square the clubface and i'm more accurate, but the slight side to side head movement has resulted in me completely losing the strike. I've tried staying centered but feel as if i'm returning to my old stiff swing. Any suggestions please?

    Am I correct in thinking that the reason we need shaft lean is so we can access the sweet spot? If the shaft is vertical or leaning back at impact, the result will be a strike that’s lower on the face. With the shaft leaning forward, we can hit the ball first and compress it as well as maximising the centre of the face.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому +1

      What you are discussing has less to do with shaft lean and more to do with ground contact ie where the bottom of your swing is.

    • @marcusjohnson488
      @marcusjohnson488 Місяць тому

      @@EasiestswingIs it a combination of both? Descending angle of attack and divot after the ball plus forward shaft lean. I’m always fascinated to find out why golf clubs are designed the way they are. There’s very little information about how the design specifics grew over time.

    HI Philip. My natural rhythm will not allow me to swing in this tempo OR I have been forcing a swing for so long I cannot do it. . I simply cannot time the golf swing. It looks so simple yet I find it so difficult. Very frustrating for me.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  2 місяці тому +1

      Try not focusing directly on the tempo but look at the root cause of “forcing your swing” - this is likely to be a combination of anxiety and tension - look to reduce both of those first and then the tempo has half a chance. Start by checking out attitude and breathing a change in both can have a real calming effect. We have quite a few resources within our two books - check out our website for details. And good luck with your progress 👍
