Blaney made history as the only nascar driver in history to win the all-star race twice in the same night! also the second mike joy said the race has to end green I knew something was about to happen. Vince McMahon wrote the script for that.

@@stever4144 Uh Nascar threw a bullshit call because some guy brushed the wall. Blaney thought the race was over and put his window net down. Nascar threw the caution to try to get a good finish because the race was awful. Also the double yellow line rule and a damn window net are two completely different things so before you type your little message about "oh there's a double standard" think about what you're and saying and stop sounding ignorant. Blaney deserved to win this race.

In my 22 years of watching this sport I have never seen such an awfully officiated race. The racing was mediocre but the officiating was just the icing of the cake. And I’ve defended the whole “NASCAR isn’t fixed, scripted” for years. That died tonight.

NASCAR, Can we PLEASE remove Texas Motor Speedway from the schedule?! The 2017 configuration as well as PJ1 splattered all over the place totally destroyed this track. It's so bad that this car can't even fix it. Move the All-Star Race back to Charlotte or any other track that's NOT named Texas Motor Speedway.
Rating: 0/10. Because it's Texas and it's nearly impossible to pass.

  • @Hollowsmith
    @Hollowsmith 2 роки тому +10

Starting about 15 years ago, NASCAR went from only throwing cautions when there's dangerous debris/fluids/stopped cars, to becoming "a device to re-rack cars for more action!". That's when they started throwing cautions for light wall scrapes with no debris where the car involved doesn't even stop. And in time, they got so comfortable using cautions this way that they now feel comfortable throwing them 100 yards before a finish line even on the last lap when zero race cars are going through the fictional "debris zone" at race speed.
Return caution flags TO THEIR ORIGINAL INTENT. A flag thrown because there's a pressing danger on the track that needs addressed. "Stage Racing" gives 2 random "re-racks" a race. That's plenty.

I think it's more the way nascar has the cars now if they'd have the cars like they did in the heyday of the sport say from 1995 to 2006 then we would see much better racing like we did back then put today's safety into those cars absolutely get rid of the playoffs and chase this is racing not baseball or football quit trying to manipulate every outcome of every race again this is racing not the WWE quit being one-sided..like quit giving Chevy everything and taking areo power etc away from ford every 6 months ...watch ford has won 2 of the last 3 races they will be slowed again soon watch ....even though at Kansas we had 1 ford in the top 15 ...nascar needs to take leaps not step backwards to when ppl actually loved the sport but they won't because whoever runs the sport now are morons I'm a fan of this sport for 40 years now a die hard but I've came so close to giving up on it now so many times in the last 10 years that I don't hardly watch a whole race anymore and why .....spec cars are not the answer ....the chase sucks and don't crown true champions the playoffs are stupid and make drivers do things that are very dangerous it's a wonder someone hasn't got killed lately they may lose the playoffs when a car flys into the stands and kills a bunch of families make a champion be a season long champ like it used to be get rid of stages also to make teams strategize a race who cares if a race is won by file mileage trim off 5 road courses we don't need 7 of them and sure don't need the roval and Charlotte is my home track I absolutely hate that roval it's stupid talk about no passing shit there will be a race there one day where no one makes a pass keep Watkins Glen and maybe road america or Sears point but that would fix nascar it's the only way to fix it and it's so evident by Darlington and the talks about north wilkesboro now that is a must bring back wilkesboro but it's evident by that it's so popular the throwback is the most popular event also put the goddamn numbers back where they belong

Texas is my home track, and I go to every race there, including tonight’s. I’ve never been more disappointed in the track, and NASCAR officiating. For anyone wondering, the track would’ve had better racing this weekend had they not added PJ1 to the turns a few years ago. The surface is to the age where it would’ve been like Kentucky after it’s repave. But they added the PJ1 to reverse their mistake of lowering the banking in the first two corners to add more grooves. But ironically it did the opposite; It contained the racing line.
Now as someone who attended this race tonight I will say to the Texas Motor Speedway team’s credit, they put on a hell of a show off track. There was plenty of entertainment in the infield, on the midway and during pre-race. Another cool thing is they removed every other row in the upper section of the grandstands to add tables for the fans. I’ve never seen a race track do that to that extent. And Texas Motor Speedway is about to renovate the concourse area to improve the fan experience too. But I think the fan experience doesn’t matter if the actual racing product (what the fans came there to see in the first place) sucks ass
In my opinion, Texas Motor Speedway has a few options at this point; repave the turns to get rid of the PJ1 (which by the way is permanent) and bring the banking in turns 1-2 back to the it’s original form. OR they could tear up the whole track and Atlantafy the thing (which creates a conversation of its own,) or just cut the loses and let a new track have the spot on the schedule. As somebody who lives in Dallas and calls Texas Motor Speedway his home track, I’d hate to see Texas completely loose it’s spot on the NASCAR schedule, BUT at the same time with how bad the racing was this weekend, I wouldn’t be too angry either as long as a good track gets to replace it.

That's because what we're talking about is NASCAR, it doesn't matter what other series are doing. Just because F1 is running at Monza does that mean NASCAR should? No, different series race different. If IndyCar is good at Texas, then that's fine, but Texas has absolutely no place on a NASCAR schedule.

I think they tried to replicate what Rockingham was but TMS too big of a track to do that. Rockingham could get away with different banking because it was more of a short track, or it had that short track feel. TMS is....not.
That being said, I think to make the All-Star race novel again is instead of rotating the venue, rotate the venue that isn't on the NASCAR schedule. You'd have it where there are no teams that have notes on the track, a new area/market that wants a race gets it, and NASCAR gets to test a new venue to consider adding it at a later date. Also eliminate stage racing except for the All-Star race. There, ideas.

Nascar as the WWE of motorsports tried to take the win away from Blaney and Ford but he proved them wrong and won it again .....this race while at times got boring because of a better car and driver was a normal race untill nascar tried to take the win away ...I think the rival should be taken away the roval sucks now that is boring AF they need to fast track the getting north wilkesboro race ready and get the cars back on that track ....the next gen car imo is way to spec it needs to be where teams and manufacturers can have their own input into the cars .. Texas used to put on good races back in the day the cars need the handling and horse power the gen 4 car had the cars from the 80s 90s and early 2000s then you'll see good races at Texas and tracks of the like ...it's not the track or tracks it's the freaking cars I know this for a fact I've seen good races at every track especially when the old cars were used they can put the safety into cars like those and let them race like it used to be when the sport got popular your think you'd go back to what worked .....also lose the chase and playoffs because that is totally b.s.

I really think that they could basically shrink the size of that roll cage and still fit all the drivers in the cars. You could still move the driver towards the center more i think for safety if thats what they want. I'm not sold on the giant wheels and tires. Just because they look cool doesn't mean they are proper for racing and I'm not talking about the single lug nut just the size of wheel/tire. But yay cost savings!!!!

Drivers have complained about not being able to pass, which is not what drivers were saying in 2014-18 when they had the high horsepower packages at the intermediate tracks.

    .
uh, LR tires and the single nut hubs are both major screw ups. especially the hub, that's a spec NASCAR design. if they aren't threading on AND STAYING ON, it's NASCAR's fault for underengineering the damn things.
    .
the LR failures are more Goodyear's fault. can't wait for Tony to start going off on Goodyear again.

I watch INDYCAR religiously, I used to watch NASCAR back in the day, and a little nowadays. I watched the highlights for the race and can understand the frustration. It sucks Texas is literally a 1 groove track, even with Indycar it is the same situation. The Indycar race in March was better than in previous years because there was another lane forming, and the racing was actually quite good in my opinion (I attended the Indycar race). So the question is, why do they have that black compound if no one uses it still? Indycar for sure can not use it, figured NASCAR could but to me it seemed sketchy for them to run up high… that is a question hopefully will change in the future for Texas.

Longtime Nascar fan here. Been a fan since 1999. Yeah, the racing was pretty bad. The problem is the people that bought Nascar know a lot about advertising and how to make money, but don't know anything about racing. I still don't understand how they put restrictor plates on these tracks that don't warrant it at all. Maybe Michigan, but that's it. The track compound they put on the racetrack it doesn't do anything. The bottom grove you could not pass unless you had fresher tires. So, my point is even with track compound it was a one grove race. The line they were running was really, really weird. They were full throttle in turns 3 and 4 and completely out of the gas for a good second or more in turns 1 and 2. I know the bankings are 20 degrees and 24, but that's not that huge of a difference. It's the new car, and their decision for less downforce on the cars. The cars didn't have much downforce to begin with as compared to the older cars. Then the decision to go to more road courses. I don't enjoy watching those kind of races only once in a while. I just don't get it and I'm going to try to understand because they don't have a clue what they are doing.

An Idea for Charlotte or for any track with a road course. They could do an all star race were you can run both track layouts at the same time. But the catch is you have to run as certain amount of laps on each track layout before the end of the race. This could add some cool new variations in strategies to provid cool exciting racing for the fans to watch.
