Cyborg's story with his father really struck me. I feel like it meant something deeper to Snyder who couldn't finish this film because his daughter committed suicide. Maybe he saw himself as Dr Stone not dedicating enough time to his child. :(
Snyder seems to have a theme of fathers and children through his trilogy: dads have big ideas for their kids, and the kids choose to step up and live up to the legacy.
Thank god. Remind me again where that line even came from?? In Snyder’s version there’s no reference to a mother other than the boxes, soo.....??? 🤷🏻♀️

I think this is shorter than than day 2? Day 4: (most of the) Star Wars series. Painful, but worth it Day 5 and 6: My favorite of the Marvel movies. i.e Iron Man 1-3, Captain America 1-3, Avengers 1-4, Thor Ragnarok. Day 7: Just a bunch of my favorite movies. Gattaca, Closer, Leon, The Breakfast Club, Pump Up the Volume, Tombstone, etc. Give or take a few. And I do this pretty much every year. Mostly alone, because no one is insane enough to do this with me lol.
Jahns has run the Snyder cabal since it’s inception. He’s been doing a Ghandi type of situation where he won’t shave until it’s released, now it’s apart of him.
Flash was more likeable, Cyborg actually had a backstory rather than a handful of scenes giving a brief overview and superman turning up for the final fight was so much better than the theatrical version. Such a better movie
I can understand why Ray will mad. They literally cut the entire of Cyborg story arc in the Whedon's version. Cyborg was nothing on that version but here, the original Snyder's version man his story is so satisfied to watch.
I'm currently watching as we speak and just two hours in it craps over the original version. They really did Cyborg dirty in the theatrical release and now that we're seeing how involved Ray Fisher is in the Snyder version only lends validity to the crappy issues behind the scenes with Whedon. This version of the film will probably be the best "Directors Cut" I've seen since Kingdom of Heaven.
I loved the end credits "For Autumn".... A parent is not supposed to bury a child. I am glad his vision came to us, and really touching he dedicated this film to her... NOW.. will we get follow ups!!!?!?!?! Come on WB!!!
Curious that you reference LOTR, because this movie is an epic, very in the vein of LOTR. By the way, I think that Autum inspired him to make this happen.
He apparently had more screen time than almost everyone besides batman. The plot heavily revolves around him and his father. It's almost like he would be considered the main character.
We thanked them through our subscription. They should thank us for letting the world know this is what we wanted. We (the fans) gave HBOMAX a game changing opportunity that gives them the buzz they so desperately seek. An everlasting buzz. This will be the topic of infinite discussions

Watching a 4 hour movie is not the same as watching 4 episodes of a show. The pacing is completely different since episodes need to have a natural beginning and end in their 1 hour run time. Normally, at least. But JL blurs the line since its divided into chapters.
“The Storm hasn’t let Choppers get over the Mountain for 5 Days - how did he get here?” “He climbed the Mountain” *Literally the most Batman shit* ever spoken.
I loved this film. As someone with PTSD and depression the “I’m not broken and I’m not alone” line hit so hard for me. What a ride. - Great review as always Jeremy. Def need to see more of the universe.
The Snyder cut was perfectly timed for the Pandemic. They cant film new movies so recycle an old one...and for once it is a movie PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANTED!
Yeah, this has got to be the softest R-rating I've seen in a movie. Had they cut out a few moments of blood (but kept the exact same action) it probably would've been PG-13.
@Kzaxrtij Skather idk why but when batman and cyborg swearing It doesnt feel right Maybe because i never see them swearing but this movie make me shock😗
I don’t know who these parents are that are scared of showing blood/curse words. Like children aren’t gonna become Damien because of that, being a crazy lunatic will turn your child crazy not a pg13 movie.
why is no one talking about how this version is more violent and it's better that way somehow feels more real but it's no too crazy violent u know, I enjoy that kind of balance
@@DJ-ll9hv don't be condescending, dude. Whedon's cut had way less blood and on screen deaths in an attempt to make it more "heroic" or "kid friendly"....or like the Avengers. @@elektraeriseros A superhero movie probably should be kid friendly. Kids are going to want to see it and that makes sense. And trying to be like a marvel movie isn't a bad thing, since they were generally so much better. The humor was much funnier than the little dry jokes in Justice League.
I loved the movie. 9.5 out of 10. The longest movie I have ever seen, and I was totally in the whole time. I was not bored one bit. WAY better than the 2017 mediocre film.
This movie was four hours of Zack Snyder playing with every toy he can in the DC sandbox. I got exactly what I expected and I was satisfied. Definitely superior to Joss’ version in every way. Loved the extra R-rated-ness of the action sequences as well!
But did you care about any of the characters though? The movie still works but I feel that the characters didn't invoke any emotional response from me( maybe except certain cyborg and flash scenes). Darkseid could have killed all of them and I would have been like, "meehh!". That's something DC needs to work on.
@@ki-cilius2692 I did, for all except for aquaman, probably coz i haven't seen the aquaman movie since it picks up after JL but i plan to watch it soon
The first scene alone gave the movie so much more meaning, and the reason steppenwolf came in the first place. Love how Zack put that scene together with the screams of superman.
Honestly the time for me didn't matter it didn't feel lile 4 hours and, for me, this was waaaaay better than the theatrical cut. The pace felt right, the characters actually felt like characters! I really appreciated the 15 rating, the realism in the fact there was blood and violence made much more engaging, again for me it had the right amount of peaks and valleys in the action and character moments
Totally agree. I started watching it late so thought I'd do half & then the rest tomorrow but I didn't even notice the time go by. Just finished it all & here I am amazed by how much better it actually is.. Flash & Cyborg in particular I now actually really want to see more of. Then theres the fact that it's not just the 6 of the League! The Epilogue was wild
Following on from the point of, ‘why did Whedon need to re-shoot this?’ The fact that Whedon not only significantly reduced Diana’s scenes, but called Gal Gadot back just to have the Flash face-plant her boobs pisses me off more than I can ever describe.
Between this Wonder Woman fight, All the scenes with Flash, and Man of Steel, It clearly shows how great Zack Snyder is at showing the super speed in fights.
I doubt WB will allow R-rated Batman movie, but an R-rated movie featuring Batman can be a possibility. So R-rated Deathstroke movie with Batman as main antagonist will be cool

One thing I noticed in the Snyder cut, were a few scenes where the actors moved like they were in costumes that they couldn't move around in. Maybe they would have figured out that if Snyder didn't have to leave, but it was sure distracting from the movie.
It's amazing how as a grown man, 2 words can make me burst into tears. No personal collection to her, nor her famiyly but the love that was shown for his daughter in this movie made me emotional for Snyder. For autumn.
I teared up when I noticed the giant billboard for the american foundation for suicide prevention in the movie, right when batman drives off with the flash in his car. Such a great movie ad. Wish it wasn't necessary, but very well intentioned.
You knew this was a different movie when one, it was Rated R, and two, Wonder Woman killing the terrorists from the beginning. You actually saw their heads explode! That was epic
Whedon doesn't seem like a particularly nice person, but I still don't think justice league was his fault. He had 6 months to practically condense what he had, make it somewhat appealing and try to appease those who were dissapointed by bvs.
Some of what I loved about the movie. 1) Cyborg is respected because, holy shit. The 2017 version did him dirty. Prior to the accident, he's someone who helps the less fortunate even though he has everything going for him. He is a hero in every sense of the word and he's very relatable to anyone who is going through a hard time in life. What the 2017 version did was essentially take the main character and turn him into a side character. Leaving the film with no lead. Everything felt hallow in that version. 2) Flash doesn't malfunction about brunch and is more fleshed out too. His comedy works but it isn't over bearing. No falling on women's breast. 3) Batman doesn't feel like Tony Stark in a Bat suit. You feel his guilt but he still has hope. Batman can have hope and be optimistic without turning into a joke. He holds his own. 4) The tunnel scene is 10x more exciting. The score is on point. In the theatrical version it just.... happened. 5) The pacing is so well done. The film is 4 hours but didn't feel like it at all. 6)Superman shines without making the League look useless. They actually feel like a team. Everyone is essential. 7)Steppenwolf is much more threatening. His VFX is improved and his motivations are clear. He made a mistake and now he's paying for it. I empathised with him... even though he was a murdering monster. 8) The final battle is probably one of the most intense battles I've seen in a superhero film. You know a film is effective when you know what's going to happen but still feel nervous. No spoilers, but when Flash does his thing..... it's fire. 9)The story makes sense. 10) No CGI mouth Superman is always a plus. In 2017, the Superman reshoots were so unnecessary it isn't funny. 11) The Amazons!!!! "Show him your fear!" "WE HAVE NO FEAR!". They were so empowering that even I want to dress up as an amazon for Halloween. Not once did it feel like pandering. Their strength comes from their actions and words.
The only things I didn’t like were the Superman vs League fight - - cos it felt unnecessary, The Martha and Lois scene and the Epilogue should’ve just been the Knightmare sequence but other than that.. Best DCEU movie easily next to Man of Steel
You forgot the epilogue's Mera asking Batman if he ever loved someone scene... If WB doesn't allow Snyder to make a Injustice movie I'mma gonna work my ass of to get rich buy the rights and pay Snyder... But I guess he'll probably be too old by then
imagine that during or near the ending of this movie what the Flash (in the speed force) did was similar to the main purpose of Avengers: The Endgame and this would have been possible in 2017 way before than the release of Endgame. Loved this movie.
I loved how steppenwolf was cutting people in half, you know like what a giant alien battle axe would do. Instead of knocking someone aside like a overpowered baseball bat.

Snyder seems to have a theme of fathers and children through his trilogy: dads have big ideas for their kids, and the kids choose to step up and live up to the legacy.

"Show him your fear!"
"WE HAVE NO FEAR!". They were so empowering that even I want to dress up as an amazon for Halloween. Not once did it feel like pandering. Their strength comes from their actions and words.
Stepoennwolf was honestly So good infelt really bad for him and I wasn't expecting him to. His motivation was like prince Zuko of the fire nation.

@@juliovarela2901 You realize that this cut is exactly what a Blu ray Extended Edition of the movie is supposed to be, of course this was never meant to be in theaters.

They could have just cut it down to a mere 3 hour cut of the movie. No, apparently it has to be less than 2 hours for no reason.
And don't give me that lame excuse for more theatrical slots no. Endgame had no issue of that when it was a 3 hour long movie, took every slot of every theater worldwide even if it means overlapping other movies and even theaters have gone out of their way to make new slots for its release period. Same goes to Steppenwolf, he's a much better villain now than he was before.
They still feel pretty empty
@@TheBondsbeyondtime exactly, the movie still feels forced and rushed. Why would they show Darkseid in the first justice league movie, and the backstory shown for flash and cyborg didn't hit no where as it felt empty, and rush, when instead it should have been built upon their solo movies. This was still a shitshow, just a glorious shitshow with tons of characters shifted in.
@@MrAceekidd I'd disagree
As an introduction, they did well with cyborgs backstory. His is pretty simple. And he doesn't really do solo films and you feel sorry and happy for him at different moments in this movie. His character was the best in this cut
The flash background was simple but his solo movie will go more into it. His character was far better in this. Less cringe and actually had a big impact.
Darkseid being in it is why Steppenwolf is developed and links it to stories from thousands of years ago. The flashbacks were cool to see instead of the usual storytelling by one of the characters
