I first visited the Dam age 20 in 1980, l stayed at Bobs hostel which l think is still there. My favourite city, l loved exploring and walking around at night and finding Bim Huis club, where l heard the great drummer Han Benninck. I was on a budget and used to get lovely hot snacks from the automat vending, you put a guilder in , pulled a drawer and got a hot croquette or something, lovely! I want to revisit but am staying in the UK for now with the crazy times we are in.
Lately I have considered visiting Amsterdam someday, as a town a short distance south of there (Amstelveen) is where actress Famke Janssen was born & raised. The prospect of seeing tulips & windmills also intrigues me.

The guide brings some fantastic mamories back when I was paying a visit to the picturesque and historical vibrant city. All these rumots about Dutch guys are true; tall, freckled, busy, open-minded, witty, proud. And all these windmills, clogs, tulips, canals, bicycles are fantastci, Venice of the North- true ! Cultural meltung pot, museums including my beloved Vincent's van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum of course, cafeterias, empty churches... far and few between motor vihicles... and much more.. I was so exciting, that im so excited to call my name to have my passport.. But just a minutes the happiness , joyful that i feel turn into sadness, its breaks my heart when i open my passport and there's no visa because its denied. I was cry while walking to the hallway , but then i tried to make my self calm because i know this is not the end of the world. Its jusy so sad that I cannot have the chance to see you Amazing Netherlands...❤️❤️❤️...And to my love.. just keep the faith .. be kind and have courage.
