The Wrestling Observer awards lost all meaning to me when Dave Meltzer denied my vote for Dutch Mantell for Booker of the Year (for booking the TNA women's division) because, according to Unca Dave, there was no evidence that he was booking the division. Except it was common knowledge at the time and to this day Mantell talks about booking the TNA women's division.
I wonder how many of these current awards have been manipulated by Meltzer in a similar fashion.
Which are the reputable wrestling awards I should be looking out for?

Wow... I just found out that they both passed away from your post. I had the pleasure to meet the both of them, and Ole was an absolute gem! Virgil wasn't mean or nasty or anything when I spoke to him, but he definitely wasn't as engaging or as willing to talk as Ole was.

WWE winning promotion of the year and Dynamite and Collision being the top two shows was one of the stupidest/funniest things I’ve ever heard.

The fact that Tony Khan lost Booker, Promoter, and Promotion of the Years Speaks volumes. More importantly, the fact he didn't tweet for almost an entire week because of it, meanwhile HHH could care fucking less. What blows my mind is WWE won the top 3 awards, yet AEW somehow still wins best show and best PPV. Something doesn't add up. Of course, you know Meltzer enforced his rule that his new flavor of the month, Opsreay won as many awards as possible.

Since WWE won promotion of the year, it almost feels like Dave had to give AEW all the other awards. Excalibur winning anything is hilarious.
The FTR vs White/Robinson from Collision last summer was outstanding.
So was the first one, and nobody talks about the first one. The first one is every bit as good as the second but the second one is so much longer that it gets all the attention.
The fact that WWE hadn't won the best promotion award since the attitude era tells you everything you need to know here about Dave and his audience.

25:00 I'm one of the 19 people that watched Queen's Quest vs Odeo Tai's cage match It was absolutely the best match for Stardom of 2023. I wouldn't put it above FTR vs Bullet Club Gold, which should be #1, but it was a great conclusion/blowoff match to the six month long storyline for Queen's Quest.
Jim's groans were the best part of this. You can see almost all of them coming, and there is soo much.
