Santino is more than a joke. He's a coward that makes The Cowardly Lion in THE WIZARD OF OZ look like Randy Orton. And he's the same level of coward as Vince Russo - a man who hides behind bravado to hide his true self.
Santino is one of those wanna be wiseguy assholes from toronto's little italy district who thinks and acts like he's hot shit/a tough guy "with connections" to actual mafiosi who could hurt others if he wanted them too based on where he's from when the reality is he'd melt like ice cream on a hot summer day if he was confronted by someone who really would kick his ass and hurt him so he picks on people like a schoolyard bully to make himself feel better about being a fraud.

@@tafttheraft5314 Sure he was a real life champ. And an underneath Japanese fighter knocked him flat in under 30 seconds in the first round. Real tough there
"Vibrating", boy I sympathize. All day yesterday I was in that mood. Moved this month into a new place, they had eight weeks to figure everything out but I'm still waiting for them to figure out how to get me internet service and find my mailbox key and haven't heard from anybody. So I went on four walks, cussing the whole time wanting to break shit, only slapped the wall and hit my couch with my cane once so all in all a success over my temper.
Here’s my take on the incident; I’m a former professional wrestler, and I’ve been on all sides of this thing for several years. Back in late 2011, I was still just a fan going to free shows for this promotion called the IWA. They also had me in control of running media, as well as video record the matches. I wanted to be a wrestler, so I went to train with them one Thursday. Not long after my training, I got in the ring during a show, and I was demonstrating my spin kicks and kip ups. I had fucked up and bumped in front of a few marks during intermission, and one of the boys yelled at me for it. I quickly apologized, and left the ring. I was scolded by one of the other veteran wrestlers that trained me, and he told me he was going to beat my ass for real if I did that again. I told him I was sorry, and I agreed not to do it again. Months later, one of the show’s producers asked me to show them what a kip up was (which is what Shawn Michaels did all the time), so I got in the ring and did two of then. I left the ring shortly after, and continued on to record for their internet taping. As soon as the show was done, the trainer I mentioned earlier asked to talk to me, so he pulled me to the side. As soon as he did, he started yelling about me being in the ring. As soon as he did, he slapped me in the face. I was stunned, because I didn’t realize I had done anything wrong. I wasn’t a worker at this time, so I was still green on the business. I was trying to apologize to the man, who had just assaulted me, but he wasn’t having it. He kept saying hat what I did was disrespectful, he’s a black belt in different martial arts, and that he’ll injure and stretch me if I clever got in “his” ring again. Then, he threatened to break my producer’s laptop, because he thought it recorded the incident. Ever since that incident, I quit going to the shows. Fast forward to January of 2016. I started training with the very same company, which shortly after became the PWA. The guy who trained me wasn’t with the company anymore, but I became a worker under the name you see now. I finally learned 100 more things I wasn’t taught before, and I made sure not to step on any toes. However, after I adopted the El Caliente gimmick and became a referee, I softened myself up as Steven Rainmaker. I was made of glass, deaf/blind/dumb, and timid if the big macho wrestlers if they got in my face. Without being told, when heels threaten me in the ring as a ref, I would coward. Also, if they hit me, I would “go unconscious.” When I wrestled in Newark, Ohio, I had apparently fucked something up. I celebrated after I had lost my match, and I had my ass chewed out by several wrestlers. I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to do that, but that wasn’t an excuse. If I got slapped in the face for it, I wouldn’t have taken it personal. Hell, even when the trainer from 2011 slapped me, he told me not to take it personal. To this day, I’m not shook about it, and neither should have Santino. Do I think Jim went overboard and slap him? Not really, but I think Santino going to the HR people like that was a bitch thing to do, because this is professional wrestling. You pay your dues like everyone else, and don’t cry when things go bad. I’ve had my downs since being a wrestler, but I’m still a wrestler when it’s all said and done with. I take wrestling seriously, and I don’t get butt hurt when things go bad. My closing statement; no, Cornette shouldn’t have slapped him. However, Marella should have talked it out with him after Cornette cooled down during the incident in 2005. If he didn’t want to do that, then he should’ve challenged Cornette to a fight and gotten it out of his system, but he didn’t do that. He let Cornette hit hit, snitched on him, got him fired, and wanted to bother him twelve years later. When he saw Cornette in Detroit, he should’ve left him alone when Cornette made it obvious that he had nothing to say to him. Santino was in the wrong in this instance.
If Santino could have made anything of his career other than being the haha guy, he wouldn't still be fuming over what happened in developmental 12 years before. He's mad at himself and projecting it on to Jim. It's also not lost on me that no other company on cable has even touched Santino. Kind of says a lot about how valuable he is.
Santino became a comedy jobber who acts like he was a bigger deal then he actually was. barely anybody remembers the guy and he was in wwe for a decade
What he meant is that with his hatred for Russo, it's worth beating Russo's ass and going to jail, but Santino isn't worth the lawyer money and jail time.
As a kid I used to love to hate Jim Cornette and the asshole of a character he used to portray but now that I’m all grown up I realize that it was exactly the kind of reaction that he was going for because he was a master of his craft and knew just how to sell it. He is such a treasure cove of knowledge of wrestling and the history of the industry and such 🤼♂️ And as an adult I can just listen him talk all day! Like goddamn I just love hearing his stories 👍🏽
Why are security guards so dumb . I was had a security guard to tell me o had to leave the building as I was walking out the door. I literally had the door open with one foot out the door . He actually ran across the room while I was opening the door to make sure he got to tell me to leave before I got outside .
I'd love to hear Heenan's podcast in this day & age if he hadn't passed. Prob legit have me pissing myself. I didn't like him as a kid but watching old school wrestling nowadays & knowing what I know, he's the most entertaining part of the show.
I've met him twice in person. Once at an house show over 10 years ago when I was in elementary and another one for my 13th birthday at an autograph signing He was pretty cool both of those moments, damn near the complete opposite of his goofy character
The fact that Jim Cornette isn't performing somewhere in a major wrestling promotion as a heel manager, announcer, or something akin to that is a tragedy. There isn't anyone currently anywhere in wrestling that's even close to as good a talker as Cornette except for CM Punk and Paul Heyman. Perhaps Cena when he's actually working. Cornette should be showing the young guys how to deliver a believable promo.
he said he makes way more money doing the podcast than he could make now in the wrestling business and he doesnt have to travel so i dont think he will be returning to the business
Why is that the responsibility of the person booking the event? It's probably even better if Jim Cornette would acquire some self control instead of requiring people who book shows and conventions to accommodate his personal issues and proclivity to lose his temper and to “vibrate” as he puts it. Cornette needs to be less of a sensitive snowflake and more of a professional who recognizes that he will come across people with whom he disagrees from time to time. If he feels that this would be too much for him, he should simply decline the booking. In any event; it makes for good drama and gets people talking, which is the whole point of these 'worked shoot' confrontations.
That would be ideal, however at this point, it's clear he's not going to do that so anyone running an event who wants him to be part of it should use the knowledge that's public information and act accordingly.
Flyerzfan lol sensitive snowflake? He was minding his own business when Santino came up to HIM. That's like if I walked up and shoved my middle finger in your face and some other person nearby said to you "aw dont be such a snowflake"
To make this analogy you had to ignore the reason the heat began in the first place - that said if you think ole' Corny is being 100% truthful with his anecdotes than I'd be tempted to use the 'M' word in relation to you.
Personally, I think he looks up to Cornette. He is just looking for the one "you did OK" moment from him. At the same time, the fact that the moment will never come, he needs to let it go and just move on. When it comes down to it Corney said it just fine, there is nothing that says either of them has to like each other. He doesn't need anything from Corney because in material terms he became a success in Wrestling, whether Corney approves or not. Santino needs to let it go in the same way Corney was trying to let it go.
Giving Santino the IC title on his debut may have also been a token gesture to avoid being sued and giving them an excuse to fire Jim. It sure couldn't be based on talent. He wasn't the comical jobber yet and he never showed at any point of his career that he could work engaging 20 minute PPV matches so what other reason could there be?
When Jim said he met the "Elbow Drop Guy" is he talking bout the dude who jumped off a 2 story scaffold and ended up totally missing his opponent laying on a table and ended up elbow-dropping the concrete floor, AKA- "The GIF"?
I'm sorry, but when an employee of a company literally puts their hands on you and assaults you (even if you did fuck up), it's just not "whining" to make a formal complaint. Just imagine if that was the norm for bosses to smack around their employees...SMH.
I side with Santino up until he goes all tough guy with it. He is a joke. He knows he's a joke. He's trying to be a joke. He's mad because Fossil Corn has things he wants to say? Of course he does. That's who Jim is. He wants "rasslin," not sports entertainment.
Jim Cornette, a perfect example of what happens when you have no father figure in your life. A selfish mouthy type that cant work with others and gets fired from every place hes worked
I haven't read a wrestling bio in years but I'd DEFINITELY buy that one. I'd like to get Dr. D's book, actually. I like the old school wrestlers- they got the best stories. What are the new wrestlers gonna write about in their bios? Nights where video game playing got particularly intense? 😂
Dutch Mantell mentioned that Jim has high blood pressure. I wonder if he ever went to a doctor to get diagnosed. I mean, he's talked about his eating habits and it sounds he eats pretty unhealthy (at least when he was working in wrestling). But that said, that stuff will eventually catch up. He might have to take high blood pressure medicine eventually. My mom was on that stuff but when she got off, she eventually had a stroke. I'm sure if he took medication, his podcasts would change drastically.
I say this as a wrestling fan: the wrestling business is full of juveniles who never became adults. The stories are enjoyable but if you dig a little below the surface, they are also a little sad.
As a Wrestling fan and Psychology Major i have thought this a lot. The Art of the work is so engrained in them they just cant turn it off.Especially kayfabe era guys, you live a life of fakeness so long, even you cant tell whats real or fake anymore. Its like an stunted youth. I think it ended up driving a lot of them insane.
@@TheeCoachg you don’t think that the people who are drawn to this life are a little insane to begin with? I would love to read something going in depth on this topic. The self hate combined with the hatred of their own fans that they also need and crave to be loved by,the drug use, the narcissism and bullying etc. there is a lot of stuff to work with. For example In the video of this encounter, Santino calls Jim a rapist and says «I’ve seen the tape» . Probably refering to the girl that was gang banged in exchange for tv time in SMW. There is also the story of Steiner, a rat and his dog on UA-cam , and that one is insane (and very sad, and illegal)

I love Cornette but I think he should've heard him out. But also Jim has a right to not wanna have a conversation with him and he doesn't have to like him. Not picking sides or anything just giving my two cents. Cause think about despite having the opportunity to strike Cornette he wouldn't do anything. To me it doesn't sound like someone with bad intentions technically I believe once Jim said we got nothing else to talk about he wanted him to like him and they be cool somehow but the more they interacted it got heated.
When it comes down to it I think he was just jealous cornys line of fans was popping more than his and combined with the heat went into vengeful prick mode

It certainly seems like Santino deliberately provoked him, but TBH, he succeeded in getting Cornette to take the bait.
You are right Tim.

Here’s my take on the incident;
I’m a former professional wrestler, and I’ve been on all sides of this thing for several years.
Also, if they hit me, I would “go unconscious.”
When I wrestled in Newark, Ohio, I had apparently fucked something up.
I didnt read your post but fuck you nobody cares
Off topic, but did the people who yelled at you explain what you did wrong and why it was wrong?

Corny's sold a lot of protective orders with Russo's name on it! That's worth measured in dollars!
You mean Ernest T. Bass? That story was EPIC!
mavis4711humphries He should have been arrested for assault for trying to pepper spray Stacy. That was the ultimate act of cowardice
What he meant is that with his hatred for Russo, it's worth beating Russo's ass and going to jail, but Santino isn't worth the lawyer money and jail time.

I saw that huge room. It is amazing that you and Satino were sitting that close when there was so much space.
He sorta kinda does it for free on his podcast when he reviews shows but I hear and agree with you.
he said he makes way more money doing the podcast than he could make now in the wrestling business and he doesnt have to travel so i dont think he will be returning to the business
Go from this episode to the one where Cornette defends JBL as not a bully LOL
Truthfully, it's probably best for anyone booking Cornette at this point not to also book any of the people he has public heat with.
That would be a long list
Flyerzfan lol sensitive snowflake? He was minding his own business when Santino came up to HIM. That's like if I walked up and shoved my middle finger in your face and some other person nearby said to you "aw dont be such a snowflake"
To make this analogy you had to ignore the reason the heat began in the first place - that said if you think ole' Corny is being 100% truthful with his anecdotes than I'd be tempted to use the 'M' word in relation to you.
The tragedy of this whole thing is that Jim never got his club sandwich.
This is hilarious! Jim is the absolute BEST EVER!!
My favorite was during that run, santino got destroyed and fed to by umaga.
When Jim said he met the "Elbow Drop Guy" is he talking bout the dude who jumped off a 2 story scaffold and ended up totally missing his opponent laying on a table and ended up elbow-dropping the concrete floor, AKA- "The GIF"?
