Hi, I'm not clear on where the yellow wire goes. I see one side going to the ground, but am unsure about the other side. You say "tin the wire and tack onto place" but where does it need to be tacked onto? It looks like you solder the wire directly to the surface of the amp with no solder between the amp and the motherboard at this point?
The wire is for the connection between the ground point on the motherboard where we scrape off some of the solder mask to the flex amp pcb. The wire may only be necessary depending on the motherboard.
@@SuperLintendo64 Thanks for answeing! On the flex amp side, the wire coming from ground only needs to be soldered to a spot on the amp itself? Do I need to temporarily place a barrier between the amp and mobo at the non-ground side to prevent solder from accidentally flowing from the amp down to the mobo?
I'm not getting much white noise at all. Only if I put the speaker up to my ear that I hear it, otherwise it isn't that noticeable on my GBA SP. There is a power cleaner mod that will clean up any white noise. www.retromodding.com/products/angry-helders-sp-power-cleaner?ref=diBDfOsD
The mod mostly makes the GBA SP louder. There is a mod that cleans up some of the noise and can go together with this mod and can produce a better quality sound with bigger sound. I hope that helps!
@@Renato_993 Here is the link to the mod. It's called Helder's SP Power Cleaner. www.retromodding.com/products/angry-helders-sp-power-cleaner?ref=diBDfOsD
Great video! 👍
AMP Mod Solder Points Diagrams:
1:58 AGS-101
2:26 C6 Point -> Volume
2:29 SP Point
2:31 VCC Point
2:33 GND Point
2:37 AGS-001 ALL Solder Points identical EXCEPT => [Different GND Point(s) -> C29 &/or C30]
I've installed two of these now, and it wasn't until I saw your thumbnail that I realized that it's shaped like a cat!
Sick SP man. Great video too
Appreciate it! Thank you for watching!
Nice, thanks
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Could you do another with more clear instructions on how to do this?🙏
lol
I wish this type of mod was made for Game Boy Micro.
Yeah, it's a shame. There really are no real mods out there for the GB Micro.
What wire gauge did you use?? Can I use any gauge wire??

I want to add that I have an AGS-101. I think that what we are doing is connecting ground on the amp to ground on the mobo right? Thanks!
@@gpracer350 Yes, that is what the wire is for
do you get too much white noise?

@@SuperLintendo64 hey thank you so much for replying so quick and for the link :) I appreciate it!! Keep making videos like this!!!
@@castro2406 No problem! Thank you for watching!!
Holy crap, I want that case!
What happens if you don't wire the ground?
It may not work properly
Does this fit with led buttons mod?
The mod is pretty thin, so it should be able to. The only thing is if it uses any solder points that the LED Button mod uses
its just make louder or increase quality too?

@@SuperLintendo64 oh nice! whats the name of the part i have to buy clean the noise to do this mod?
