- Today we are going to be ranking every Star in Super Mario 64. The Stars are ranked from worst to best and each Star is given a 1-5 rating so that at the end we can determine which World has the best Stars!

Slight correction about the elevator star in Wet-Dry World, you don't need to raise the water level at any point
For the Snowman's big head penguin... You can just jump onto the penguin's head and ride across on that. I've been doing it for years, and it works tons better than trying to stay next to the penguin.

I disagree with 75% of your list but I appreciate the work you put into the video by capturing the footage specific to each star.
i was gonna say the same thing, seeing as he should have gone over the speed tech for most stars that makes getting the stars easier/more fun and taken that into consideration for the ranking. but even just the dedication to making this is admirable and normie friendly

Great video, and I agree with a lot of these rankings. Just some thoughts
I'm pretty sure the intended method to get the "Collect the Caps..." star in DDD is to collect both the Vanish and Metal caps at same time. Although you can simply collect the Vanish Cap.
Pyramid Puzzle is ranked too high IMO. All it is a rehash of star #3 where you climb to the top of the pyramid. Collecting the coins on the tiny platforms with the atrocious camera is very frustrating. If you mess up, you have to climb back up to top again.
I think Winged Mario Over the Rainbow 8 red coins is a little too high as well. The star and challenge itself is not bad, but the penalty of falling off the clouds is that you are transported back to the beginning of the castle and you have to make your way back to 3rd floor to attempt the star again.
A couple of the bully stars were a little too high IMO. Having stars with similar objectives is sort of a lame. Especially since the first two stars in LLL are near identical. I would rank the "Bully the Bullies" star as the best.
I would probably put some of the red coin stars a little higher, like WDW and BBH. Those were fun to explore the levels and collect. I would rank the LLL red coin star lower too as it was piss easy.
Glad to see love for the slide stars though. I love ll of them as well.
Honestly I think the 100 coin stars with some exceptions on the n64 version. Are meant to be the ultimate test on your mastery of exploring that specific stage. Since they are the only stars in the main 15 stages that don’t have a selectable option like the red coins.

It's properly challenging, the atmosphere and sense of scale is really cool, and the set pieces are super cool. A flyingship with wings, riding a rainbow, a castle in the clouds...
You can actually crawl up slopes you normally can't run up. A little known fact that makes some of these stars a little easier to get but also more annoying to get.
Yeah, I remember playing the game a long time before I realized you could crawl up steep slopes that you couldn't while standing.
Excellent list! I'll need to try that jumping off the huge log technique to get that mushroom star on TTM. Usually, I just jump on the fly guy near the monkey and whirl over to it. Also, the Mysterious Mountainside one can be skipped by jumping off the above ledge and doing a mid-air kick while pulling towards the alcove beneath with the star.
Also, I totally agree about the Stomp On The Thwomp star. Second only to Wing Mario Over The Rainbow for me. My worst one by far, is definitely DDD 100 coins followed by Pole Jumping For Red Coins as doing both of them is like watching paint dry

When I first played through the tricky triangles star, I didn't know what I was doing. But I was randomly jumping, got the 1up, and easily made it through that platforming section with a good amount of time remaining. It was so smooth, and one of my favourite moments ever playing Mario 64.

This is no disrespect but I think a good alternative title for this video would be a short summary of how to get each star in Mario 64.
I actually also agree with a lot of your adventure ratings like the Big house in the sky and to the top of the volcano - I’ve seen a lot of other rankings and they always rate these worlds low :(
Also please do Mario Galaxy, and make it so I won’t rage in disgust! :D
i can not believe the amount of people i hear say or imply that rainbow ride or tick tock clock's 100 coin star isn't as much of a challenge or difficult as other stars! they were the two stars i was stuck on for *YEARS*. Collecting the blue coins alone on rainbow ride in order to receive the 100 coin is a challenge in itself wall kicking up in time. Another channel said dire dire docks 100 coin was worse and i just cant see it. Tick tock clock is heck to navigate to get 100 coins lol. Also, people like wing mario over the rainbow? lol. I disagree with several of these, but the video was great.

Wing Mario over the Rainbow is the worst star in the game, simply by virtue of the fact that every time you screw it up, the level dumps you out into the castle front yard and you have to walk all the way back up to the top floor every time you want to retry the challenge.
Just an extremely annoying waste of time. Pointless.

The manta rings actually have a wrong hitbox. The actual one is slanted sideways
