- In March 1973, fronted by Brian, Geordie released their debut album, Hope You Like It, on EMI Trying to compete with such British glam rock outfits as Slade and Sweet, they achieved UK Top 10 status with “All Because of You” in April 1973.
Thank god AC/DC called him
Ha haaa
You're not wrong.
Geordie has some good stuff, I mean yeah, thank god he's in AC/DC but don't discount these guys either
@@dupersuper6516 I’m not shitting on Geordie. We just wouldn’t have the AC/DC we know today without Brian
@@coldbeer5552 yep if there was no Geordie who knows how AC/DC would have turned out
He was and still is a great vocalist!
Kind of has a Slade meets Bay City Rollers vibe to me. Good stuff.
Agreed. Brian even sounds a little like Slade's old singer Noddy Holder .
Exactly!
Dan Lowrie - you beat me to it!
Meets CCR
Very Good Brian!!! Regards from Colombia 🇨🇴
Brian rocking that outfit 💪 awesome stuff and amazing voice
Their version of 'The House Of The Rising Sun" was brilliant long time fan of Geordie
Seeing Brian without his hat is like looking at an earth without the moon
Facts!
He looks better without that ridiculous hat
@@tashaa9617
No.
@@tashaa9617 No.
He didn't need it back then.
Oh my god, I'll never be able to not see this again.
Thankfully , the Powers that be brought Brian & AC/DC together 🤘
WOW and there is the AC/DC vocals! So cool to see this!
Brian rockin the Oshkosh B'gosh railroad bibs.
This was the first song I ever heard of Geordie, regardless of the clothes, this song kicks ass. I've known of this song for over 20 years.
This needs to go viral.
Years move so fast.
Love it! Makes me like him even more!
Those platform shoes! Love it Mr Brian! Thanks for sharing
Thats right.. ya got me wooing.. ball of energy.
Actually a rockin song! I love it!
The boys at ACDC somehow saw greatness and pictured him singing their songs.
Bon Scott personally asked for Brian johnson to be contacted if he was to die, they met eachother before he died
@@zacgaitely6583 this is false...yes they met in the 70s and even had a beer together...bon bragged about his singing to the other acdc members which they said he never did which is why it stood out to them. Then producer mutt Lange also recommended Brian after bons passing so they said we gotta check this guy out there must be something to it. But no bon did not say "if I was to ever die get brian to replace me" that is not at all how it went.
@@midnight347 Yes that’s what I remember too - Bon was impressed by his performance
Totally awesome. Brian is incredible, we know this already.
Classic 70's , the feel of the song , the looks of the band and the audience. The song has punch and moved along flawlessly , it also answered a question I've had for long a time ; how did Brian Johnson sound like before ACDC ? Like Brian Johnson .
I have a rare best of Geordie cd.. brilliant
Love the Old School stuff 😎🤓😎
Havnt heard this since the 70s,totally 4got about it, wow the memories came flooding back, its blinking brilliant!
The locomotive engineer look was all the rage back then LOL
А он красивый был❤❤❤
Trippy and REAL and much better than anything today
I would have loved to hear AC/DC cover this - it's would have been awesome with the whole stadium doing the "Hey, Hey, Hey's" \m/
If it's AC/DC everyone would go "OY, OY, OY!"
I'd love to hear them do Nutbush City Limits too
OMG! Supreme stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great voice..
I’m glad you answered the phone when the German lady called.
The clothes are painful look at.
Hey that’s the toon top, proud Geordie black and white stripes!!
Lol true
We need to hear AC/DC play tribute to Brian. This song can easily be turned into AC/DC song. His past work is great ! Let's celebrate it AC/DC style...and freaking party ! It would be great to see Brian and his old band mates play these songs with AC/DC...and party the AC/DC way !!!
And he still has high vocal range today
Most awesome thing I've seen in years. Thanks BJ TV!
Donning his toon top!!! Good lad!!
Timeless 👍😎
I got this single for my 11th birthday. BJ is such an awesome vocalist who just needed that “big break” 🤘😬
Wow! I am a huge AC/DC fan this was awesome! I loved the beatles little build up in the middle. You are truly one of the greats.
Espectacular!!!
I met them at my Aunts house when I was a young kid. They gave me a signed photo, but it really didn’t mean much to me back then as it was before they had charted. I was really surprised to hear them on my little transistor radio and very excited as they started progressing up the charts. I saw them long after they had their hits in a Darlington nightclub - can’t remember if Brian was still lead singer. Then he wound up in AC/DC. I think they had a shop in Newcastle-Geordie Jeans-but age might be making me confused.
That's epic! Do you still have the photo?
Don't worry: age makes everyone confused, lol.
@@magiccheeseball Chucked it away sometime in my teens. They had disappeared from the charts and I’d moved on to progressive rock, so these old has beens didn’t appeal. Little do you know when you’re young that there are things you throw away which you wish you hadn’t. I’m not sad about chucking the picture of val and the blue Peter dog - Petra ?
The platforms bring back memories!!
Nice outfit.
The white boots are awesome
Brian Johnson clothes in this video are perfect match with Angus Young outfit.
Brian needs bring that outfit out of retirement for the next tour.
It's really catchy
very very good
This was about 3 years before I was born but I always find the male fashion interesting from this time. Tall boots, platform shoes, and scarfs. I dont think I wouldve been brave enough to go there
Geordie 4ever
Watch any interview with this man Brian Johnson and tell me you don't love him. I love Bon Scott. But Brian Johnson is also a God. AC/DC struck gold twice
Nice toon top,bonny lad.
☺♥
Brian Johnson. I picked him as the replacement for Bon Scott in 1980. It was a no brainer.
Legend has it Brian Johnson offered 5 million dollars to have these tapes destroyed before they hit the internet.
The Super Mario Bros creators must have been Geordie fans.
Slade were very popular in 1973. All bcoz of U.
Ваще супер! Спасибо.
Brian sings Pop!
Brian 👍
These videos should have Brian Johnson somewhere in the title to get more views/exposure.
A substandard Slade.
❤
Dig the outfit haha!
Long way from that to "Back in Black", ain't it kids?
Munchkin rock. Long live Bon
Great hair cut!
The guitarist on the right (w/ light Strat) at :38 - what was he thinking when he saw Ace Frehley/ KISS on the "Tele" 2 or 3 years later? (with same boots, hair, stage moves)
There was a lot of cross-pollination in the 70s - especially amongst the glam bands (Ziggy Stardust, NY Dolls, Sweet, etc.) Look at KISS costumes 76-78 and look at what the LaBelles were wearing. Same designers.
Severe Slade/Glam Rock influence going on....
If you don't look at the video, you would think it was Slade
Some odd antics but they're jammin!
The year I was born.
Those coveralls are tough to look at. He's much better looking now.
Proof garden gnomes do come to life!
Reminds me of Slade.
Hard to watch....but that said, thank God he landed the acdc gig.
Ikr. I think I burned my retinas out.
Whith most versatilty that in the AC/DC. In AC/DC he sings only that way
Very ccr
Oooohhhh this is where the back in black came from
The SHOES.......
Getting nostalgic Brian? ;-)
I'd call nasa and let them store these tapes 4 u
Has visto al doble de este gran cantante se llama Iván Gac te lo recomiendo hasta el mismo Bryan lo saludo por un video
Further proof that it was wise to leave the songwriting duties up to Angus & Mal.
Comedy.
Brian writes the lyrics Angus writes the riffs.
@@spiderfan1974 --- Wrong. Brian has not any writing credits since the failed 1988 "Blow Up Your Video" album. Angus/Malcolm took over all writing duties from Razor's Edge to present day.
@@spiderfan1974 --- And even when Brian was getting writing credits from 1980-1988....that wasn't always correct.... in the biography book "Maximum AC/DC" we learn that songs like "Shoot to Thrill" and "For those about to rock" were 100% Angus Young compositions music and lyrics, even though a small percentage of writing credit went to Mal & Brian.
@@scottcummings8602 but he wrote the lyrics to some of the bands biggest hits. And Malcom ain't writing shit right now. So what's your point exactly?
Bay City Rollers meets Nazareth
Lol. Nice outfit
Cant imagine how this song would sound if it was played by AC/DC
How many months pregnant was Jonno when this was filmed?
Van Halen meets The Bay City Rollers.
Hey hey hey!
Oooof... I think I’m gonna be sick.
nice shoes
Lmao. Sorry Brian, I’m a huge fan, but this was painful. I need to listen again without the video. But hey, you’ve got to start somewhere and I’m very happy that you answered the call from heir Fräulein
ok but without this would Brian have even got the call?
@@PlanetGareth You make a very valid point.
Brian Johnson was thicc
whoes thar singin ?
brian
Anyone else imagine Dave Evans fronting this band?
They say “You have to start somewhere “Glad AC⚡️DC came along!
But unfortunately, they had to wait for Bon to do himself in.
Yeah he did well but never stayed in did he(unfortunately)Thanks for you’re typing but
Wait no Bon just continued to live the life he did it was the party lifestyle Stella Rocquie-(unedited)
Now we know where Gene Simmons got his dance moves from.
He was on a highway to hell until ACDC found him.
that was soup of kiss with the shoes and dressing, brian dressed and moving like james brown , guitars that sounds like lynyrd skynyrd , beatles's like chorus what a mess ... but freakin good anyway
I have so may questions. Why is he wearing bellbottoms and dancing like he's at a southern bbq wizbang?
0:33
All I gotta say is ya gotta love the bra-less 70's on these pop dance shows:-)
Love ya' Bri', and yes, I understand those times -- not much younger than you are -- but as they say in Durham -- Oy, vey!
