- HONDA CBR1100XX SUPER BLACKBIRD REVIEW
The Big Bird is finally done and dusted
Taken around 6 weeks of waiting for parts and lots of polishing
But I think the results speak for themselves!
This turned out far better than I expected
And the bike has surprised me in just how good it is
Even after 21 Years,. it still does the job very well
And looks very cool doing it!
So was it worth it in the end?
And did I make any profit?
Or lose my ass?
Lets find out in this final episode in the series

I had a carbed Blackbird for about 9 years. It was in a sort of wine colour ; 'Candy Muthos Magenta' I think. It was a great bike with easy speed, good handling and it was very reliable. Unsurprisingly it did drink a bit of fuel and needed a number of replacements for chains, sprockets, pads and tyres. For a bike like a Blackbird though, that was to be expected. What a bike that was. Thanks for these videos.
Still my favourite project so far 😁 thanks for the comments ☺
These bikes are the best 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
would love to see you do this to another bike ....
If the right bike comes along, I would certainly do this all over again :)
Very good restoration. Well done.
Thanks Paul :)
Glad you like the bike, but.....if you want to feel like it has 165 bhp, try taking it over 6000rpm on the test ride . It's a pussycat up to 6k, then becomes a rocket ship .....you've sadly missed out on the full potential of this glorious bike, whilst tarting up the exterior. Completely missing the point of the XX superblackbird 😪
I actually did get the best out of the bike over several rides which I didn't film, you can be reported and fined for obviously speeding on UA-cam if anyone reported it (trust me it happens) but I agree over 5k revs (just like most in-line 4 engines) it gets a little crazy 😁
Nice restoration looks bloody lovely
Thanks :)
Beautiful
For me auctmarts is the best! Never had orange peel with them buddy..and I've bought 2 kits from them
Love the blackbird series..i have the same bike same colour and year! Been following closely!
Glad you enjoyed the series, and I will look into Auctmarts too :)

Nice one brother! What oven cleaner did you use
@@modoudrammeh It was just a can of "Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner Foam" from my local shop :)
You did a good job. Probably the total cost of the Monster fairings is less than the cost of just one panel from Honda!!! It's a lot of bike for the money. Dirt cheap really for what it is considering it was briefly the fastest production bike until Suzuki brought out the Hayabusa. Looks quite a cramped and stretched out riding position.
Thanks Alex, certainly cheaper option than buying anything from Honda, and with a bike of this age and mileage, I really don't see the point in spending vast amounts of money getting it back to nice order, turned out pretty well in my opinion, and certainly for the money and effort 😁
Screaming out for a Honda tank badge
Yes that's the One thing missing, They put decals on all the other parts, so no idea why they left that bit out, kinda lets it down a bit in my opinion, I didn't even notice until after though!
Sure looks a bit "naked" with out the Honda wing decals that are found on the original gas tank.
It's the main thing that let the fairing kit down, I can't think why they omited that decal, when they did the others? but something to consider if buying a Chinese kit I guess ;)
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes I didn't know until after I sent that response that someone before me stated the same. Based on all of the reviews and "word of mouth" about Chinese motorcycle body parts, along with some I've seen in person, I would never trust them no matter how top rated ( and expensive) they are. I am a semi-retired professional auto body mechanic here in the states and have the ability to rebuild, refurbish and restore pretty much any motorcycle body parts in my small shop. I am in the process of a full custom XX build on my 2002 model and hope to have it done by this coming Summer. It'll be my second full custom job and I cant wait until it's finished and I can do it's first nice Sunday ride.
@@stevesmith6236 Good luck with your projects :)
Didn't you already do this lol
Yes but the background music was too annoying, so I re-uploaded it :)
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Yeah it was a bit mad, much better now though
@@allthatglitterz4564 I hopefully wont make that mistake again lol
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes It's all learning I guess, you've come a long way though mate
@@allthatglitterz4564 I know! over 5000 subs now and growing :)
