I play live with my A1R through a fender acoustic jr amp and it sounds amazing in a full band situation or solo. I considered replacing it after owning it for about 10 years now but havent found anything that sounds as nice or plays as easily.
I own a LL6 (and just bought a A1R off of Reverb). The LL6 nut is a little wider than the A1R. It is said to help with finger picking, I finger pick a lot and find the wider nut slightly less comfortable , but I also have skinny fingers. The LL6 has a passive pickup, so no batteries required, but you also have no control over volume or tone. So you will need to buy an external preamp or use an amp to adjust your tone and volume - or trust the sound guy. The A1R has an onboard EQ and a built in tuner, but runs on batteries. The neck on the LL6 is very comfortable with a nice smooth satin finish, which I prefer, the A1R has a matte finish, which isn’t bad, just not as smooth in comparison. To me the LL6 is better unplugged and the A1R sounds better plugged in. You can’t go wrong with either (or both).
