    Better for spectators, when racing has almost no downforce. ..everything is just sideways....

      Depends on the format, but you get half a point. I love oldtimer racing because of the diversity. Mini's vs Mustangs, prototype & formula racing of different generations in the same race, old kettles from the 20's untill 50's.
      Downforce itself is not a problem imo, constructors deliberatly creating dirty air behind their cars is (not blaming them, the rules are bad).
      Those old 'downforced' cars usually didn't have a million winglets, ducts and edges everywhere. Downforce had (roughly) 3 components, frontwing body and rearwing, with some timing you could pass and following a car didn't ruin your tyres. It made for decent racing on the opposite side of sliding which is cool too.
      Modern racing is boring. It's mostly about money and ego's without the passion that racing used to contain. Some call themselves pinnacle of autoconstruction, yet I never see cars with 1000 winglets, ducts and so on in the street. They would be illegal, considered uggly and most of all impractical.

    Unlike modern race cars, the way these suspensions on these cars are so much more lively, going into a bit oversteer at 10/10 all day long

    I don't know how NASCAR stays alive this is ten times better. NASCAR drivers go home when it rains pffff...... sissys

    Mike Jordan hanging it all out in the mighty Autocar Capri. That had to be a real handful in those snowy conditions and icy track temperatures. Great fun, proper racing...

    The Capri and the Escort are two of the best cars Ford has ever produced. They were and still are successful race cars in their own class. The Capri's won a terrific amount until the early 80's. Very underestimated and I'm glad I've still got one.

      Mexico....Rare find these days. Had many fords over the years. Now occasionally drive my Ford Focus RS mk2.👍🇦🇺

    My dad had a red ford escort mk2 4 door.ford escorts mk1,mk2 and opel Kadett c are my favourite cars

    What engine was in the Capri? Was it the stock 2.0 litre Pinto. I'm pretty sure the 3.0 Essex or the 2.8i Cologne would have had the RS2000 on the straights.
    I was the proud owner of a black Capri 2.0S in the '80s that I miss to this day.

    The RS2000 had loads more ground clearance and 1litre less!!??? Wish I'd bought one instead of the 2.8 capri when I was younger.

      Massive difference in weight though long wheel base car and a very heavy engine upfront was always gonna loose in agility and it’s wet!
