I love this I always cry reminds me of my sister who passed she was my best friend and like a mama she would play this and other music pick me and dance thank you for playing this such a sweet memory ❤
This was made during the Vietnam era. I think the words were through the eyes of a young soldier who had been drafted. Yah, the world's a messed-up place, but I don't want to get blown away, I want to live. Take me back to my old home, the USA. Absolutely a beautiful song. When I went to rehab a few years back they played this. Of course, this had a different meaning for a lot of folks there. You know, you do the drugs, but you actually don't want to die.
Greg, this is one of six songs I would have to have with me on a deserted island. The lead singer, Dean Ford, was one of a kind. His genius was he knew exactly how hard to push the vocals; how much to give. No more, no less. It was perfect. My man, when Dean sang a song, it stayed sung! Virtuoso playing by Junior Campbell, including the very interesting, reversed track at 4:31 of your video, and the perfect harmonies by the rest of the band. Greg, I was there. In the 1970s, we were spoiled by the best musicians and song writers the world would ever know.
😅this man nailed it totally outstanding song the lead singer the harmony the backing music just amazing this song is up there with the best for sure as for marmalade great band
Marmalade are a Scottish pop rock band from the 60's. "Reflections Of My Life" was their biggest hit. They also did a version of the Beatles' song "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" which was very popular. Other songs were "Baby Make It Soon", "Rainbow", "My Little One", "Cousin Norman", "Radancer" etc.
I brought this song when it first came out. Played it so much that the record is permanently scratched. It has always been one of my favorites. BTW I still have this record still today.
There is also another clip on YT with Vietnam Vets (7+million views). It gives you a deeper feeling in my opinion of the song for what it means. It was written during the Vietnam War en how people felt at that time going through a period of turbulence and personal tribulations because of it. If you watch that clip you feel the pain and the longings of soldiers wanting 'to go back home'. It touch me every time I watch it. Btw, great reaction.
The video you want to experience is Reflections of My Life - Vietnam Vets. That is an experience and it's too bad it wasn't the one suggested. Or maybe it couldn't load, if it was I don't' know.
Greg, you never eaten Marmalade? Oh we got to send you some, it's gorgeous. Made with citrus fruit and similar to what you call jelly and we Brits call jam. What's your favourite citrus flavour? Lemon, lime, orange?
------------- Marmelade was a one-hit wonder, but the dude's voice sounds like the lead singer from the group Foreigner (I want to know what love is). Great reaction
Not only his voice but the words to the song. I still get chills when I hear it
I’ve always loved this song but it’s only now that I’m older that I can really appreciate the lyrics.
Dean Ford, the lead singer put out an updated version of this song. It is amazing, and yes, the lyrics mean a lot more now.
Oh this is a forgotten classic that is beautiful. ❤
The saddest lyrics ever…Sang in the most Beautiful way Ever…Such a masterpiece!
One of my favorite songs from the 60's. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do a reaction to this song.
Yeah….no idea why not!
Pronounced the Mar-Ma-Laid. I was 10 when this came out and it is still one of my favs. Your reaction is totally on point
I love this song!
Was 12 when it came out and cry every time I hear it. Awesome reaction and I can feel you felt just like we did back then☮️
Fantastic reaction! I felt the same way the first time I heard this.
They are a rock group from Glasgow, Scotland.
Great Vietnam song. Bring me back to my own home
This song was popular when I was a teenager. Great lyrics and terrific harmony!
Greg, I love your reactions as the magic unfolds. So precious and so glad you appreciate our old music. Sending you all light and love.

Dean Ford, Scotland's finest (RIP)
This song makes people's hearts peaceful and happy.

This is the first time seeing a video of yours. Outstanding reaction. I grew up listening to this song.
All time classic. And they were very young when they wrote this song.

Lefty with the strings upside down. You don't see that too much anymore.
Yours is the best-quality video I have seen of this performance. Can you link us to it? I would love to see that in that quality. All good wishes .
🤘🏽⚜️🤘🏽
Its about Vietnam and the worlds problems.
Introvert hymn
