"The changing of sunlight to moonlight"...The lead singer here looks back on his life...all the sorrows, and as you said Angela, he mourns his loss of innocence longing for a simpler, the safer, the more shielded life he knew as a child.

The lead singer of the marmalade, Dean Ford, remade this song, and slowed it down a bit. He passed away shortly after.
Awesome song. You should check out the remake. ❤❤❤❤❤

A very nostalgic song! I wonder if we'll ever pass this way again!

I first heard this song when I was 14, and it has had a sobering effect on me ever since. Given all the tragedies Earth and life on Earth has afforded us, heartache, disease, poverty, earthquake, violent storms, murder and the list goes on...surely there was a better situation we have come from....hence the lead singer here, Dean Ford, sings "Take me back to my old home."

This song is actually about the Vietnam war and being a soldier ..

To soldiers in Vietnam this song has and had a special meaning that I don't think many others could understand. Feeling the loss of friends there and the loss of the life and loves of those so far away was sometimes heartrending. Such a great song, but boy it could almost break you.

This Scottish band were very popular in the UK in the late 60's and early seventies. They did some really catchy and melodic songs . Also a great cover of The Beatles 'Oh Bla Di, Oh Bla Da'

The melody and harmonies are so beautiful in this song, even though the message is a little depressing. I've still loved the song since '69.

Wow,been a very long time since I heard this. Totally of its time but still a cool vibe and listen 55 years later, nice to hear it again! For a psychedelic classic from that era, do I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night from the Electric Prunes, it is a tripy jolt of energy, another song from then I still love. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹

The song, as is the case with all songs and poems, is about what it is about to you, when you listen to it.
