The tv’s are only about $200 but he also smoked in the room and he signed off on a $500 damage fee so I milked it as much as I can. Then his mommy called me and called me a white b*** and that she will come and f*** me up so I called the police and she never showed up.
That happened to me once, me and my family had to wait for an hour for our room to be ready so we just ate in the buffet until our room was done. And then when we went to room there was a little sorry card with wine, macaroons, and chocolate.

The best hotel experience I've ever had was when my boyfriend and I went to Niagara Falls and stayed in a hotel that had just been built. Not feeling the nightmares of thousands of other people was just an amazing experience, and so rare too. The Ritz Carlton I stayed at when I was younger was nice too, so I guess the only really good choices are either new or expensive
We had something similar in Colorado. The hotel was still being renovated and our room was freshly done. Didn't feel all gross like a different hotel we stayed in (I can't remember which state)... that room was GROSS. Hair ALL over the place. Whoever stayed there before us had a seriously bad hair loss problem and a hotel staff that never bothered to clean it.
No offense to the elderly or disabled but for some reason I often get placed in the handicapped accessible rooms, which are like an assisted living facility room. I usually ask to be moved if possible.

I don't mind but in case there's ever a reason where the room would be better used by actually someone who could use the extra amenities in those rooms I offer to be switched. One time they told me that they gave me that room ahead of time bc all the other non-smoking rooms weren't available and they had extra handicap rooms if needed

I put a plastic bag around the remote and things (when I used to use hotels) call me a clean freak oh also I never take my sandles off when stepping on the carpet floor
It's seriously disgusting and inexcusable!! There is a best western hotel in my small texas hometown (they're supposedly affordable) it's like $150 a night and it's disgusting! I know a lady who works there and they try as hard as they can but the owner doesn't give them much to work with! They dilute their cleaning supplies to make them last longer, use very little and cheap deterget to wash, their mops are decades old!! They just wanna keep more of a profit! This is not new york city, for that amount of money in this area $150 is not so cheap!

The housekeeping part is so accurate! I’ve actually had them to barge in on me a few times while I was sleeping. I always use the “do not disturb” sign. So to make sure no one comes into my room, I always flip that extra top lock. They just slam into that now! 🤦🏽♀️🤣😭

Honestly, it depends on what you pay and what country you’re in. American hotels can be touch and go even from the big names, compared to what the big names dish out for the rest of the world. Plenty of hostels are clean enough even if they lack the luxurious veneer. Some small family owned mom and pop inns and boutique hotels are great at offering a personal touch to all the comforts, but it’s smart to do research before you make a booking- my best experiences with them were in Italy and New Zealand. International hotel chains are pretty above board when it comes to maintaining a certain standard, but you pay top dollar for those prices.
This just happened to us, were on a road trip. My wife, son and I. We booked adjoining rooms, so the kid could have his own room. Of course the reservations are screwed up, and the rooms are apart. So my wife walks our son to his room, but they come tearing back into our room, and she's like we used the card on the room they gave us, and opened the door, but the room was occupied.... dude was in there, stuff all over and we bolted. When we went back downstairs and told the front desk, he was like "oh ok, lets see if we can find you another room." He wasn't even shocked!!! Be careful out there folks.

Me! I once stayed at a hotel where you had to be so precise since turning it the slightest bit too much to the warm side created boiled water, and turning it the slightest bit too much to the cold side turned into an ice bath.
The Singapore Holiday Inns are beautiful- the view is like something out of those travel books, you get the entire city below you, lots of free food, and the lobby and rooms are gorgeous- not to mention the sheets are clean. Would definitely reccomend it ^v^
As a former housekeeper who was very thorough, let's just say my cleaning style was discouraged at most hotels where I worked . They want quick turn over and hated it when we took too long or sent too much linen to the laundry. Any maid who took the time to do a good job & actually be considerate of guests was given grief...hence, the good ones don't work there long

Me! I once stayed at a hotel where you had to be so precise since turning it the slightest bit too much to the warm side created boiled water, and turning it the slightest bit too much to the cold side turned into an ice bath.

The Singapore Holiday Inns are beautiful- the view is like something out of those travel books, you get the entire city below you, lots of free food, and the lobby and rooms are gorgeous- not to mention the sheets are clean. Would definitely reccomend it ^v^
As a former housekeeper who was very thorough, let's just say my cleaning style was discouraged at most hotels where I worked . They want quick turn over and hated it when we took too long or sent too much linen to the laundry. Any maid who took the time to do a good job & actually be considerate of guests was given grief...hence, the good ones don't work there long

As someone who stays in an average of 100 hotel rooms a year, it’s like you dove into my brain and made my thoughts public. Thanks for the laugh. I really intentionally don’t think about how many people have slept in the bed. I really like it when a room smells like fresh paint and all the plugs are stiff because then I know very few if any other people have been in that room.
This is like when we travelled with my Dad. HIS COFFEE!!! Room service, so true!!! and the towels are always such a big deal. And of course, the mysterious spot somewhere that creeps him out.
