I wish I found you back around this time. My sister has struggled with cystic since our teens. She would have such a swollen jaw that she would have to ice her face and still had pain just to talk. My heart was breaking for her constantly but I had no idea what to do. Neither of us did. She’s smart and she’s made so much progress with it. She and I both watch you presently just wish I found you for her earlier. Thank you for your dedication 🦋

I used to date a girl who had bad facial acne and she was very insecure about it. Couldn't go a day without applying layers of make up to mask the acne. However I still found her beautiful without the makeup. I even encouraged her to go a day without it because it wouldn't change they way I looked at her. I can say the same about you - without the makeup you're still beautiful. Props on sharing this with the world.

Honestly, it isn't a lot of makeup. Just high-coverage stuff. Most females that I know (and some men) wear this much makeup or more. Please, be nice and don't say that she doesn't need to put this much on. If she feels confident and beautiful, let her feel confident and beautiful. She looks lovely with and without, but she doesn't feel comfortable. Please, respect her feelings. Thank you. I hope you all have a really lovely day.

dang, shes so brave for showing herself without makeup on video. i could never do it, because of my insecurity over my face. i struggle with really bad forehead acne, which makes socializing face - to - face pretty hard. i hate the feeling that everyone is just looking at it, while im speaking. these videos are great. thanks ! :)

    • @pau8574
      @pau8574 7 років тому +8

Brynn Elizabeth I understand completely. I also have forehead acne and its horrible. I wear makeup to school and I'm terribly insecure about my acne and have bad breakouts and when I pop them I hate that it turns into a scab and I feel my pimples show even more than they did before... Also, my acne has affected my social life as well, I don't talk to people anymore except my closest friends. And I know I can't cover them up completely but I also know it's not easy to gain confidence with all those pimples on your forehead. I'm still struggling, but hanging in there. Remember, little time till your an adult and don't have to see people as much in school (or college; whichever you're in [jf you are]) anymore. You can start over without having to cover it up knowing there's someone out there that is struggling just like you. You aren't alone!!!!!! Okay I'm gonna end it here, but just know I understand.
Try this: Everyday, wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror but don't focus on your pimples, focus on your eyes because that's what people look at when they talk to you. Then say "you're beautiful and it doesn't matter what they think because I know I am." Before you can fix the social issue you have to start with yourself. Confidence. Love yourself, that's key. 😊 ok byeee (hope I helped in some way!! If not, sorry)

    • @JerichoEden
      @JerichoEden 6 років тому

Yes Brynn Johnson! I was just commenting that having acne makes you so much more confident than people without acne. I think it's because you become confident in other areas. I had acne as a teen on the right side of my face but it went away. I still have acne scars though... I'm working on it. sheeshh :)

I remember when this went viral. I was in the middle of my teens and had cystic acne on my nose and dermatitis on my chin and above my lips. It was all so embarrassing. My mom found this video and showed me. I wasn’t wearing makeup at the time but this vid inspired me to start on makeup. Got some Bare Minerals powder eventually and it helped me a lot. Man, how time flies 😱

Every once in a while I'll come back to watch this, and then look at how you are now. It makes me emotional to see how much more confident and happier you are because I feel like we've been on this acne journey together. So when I feel like my skin is still not good enough, and that I've accomplished nothing, this is a good reminder of how much I've grown as a person (and in my skincare).

You're all really ignorant. As a girl who used to wear zero makeup whatsoever, keeps a pretty decent diet, and keeps a consistent face-washing routine, I'm pretty sure that everything you guys are saying is totally irrelevant. Like. No. This is natural. This is what happens. It's caused by life. That's it. It's not her fault in any way.
And as for what she does about it? Let her do whatever she wants! I think it's incredible, how she covers it up so well, and it's none of your business that she does. I'm sure she's already done what she can to help herself, so you lecturing her does nothing but make yourself look like a total butt.
And for all the "nice" guys, shut. Up. We don't freaking care if your prefer a girl with no make-up. This isn't lying, this is dressing how we want to dress, and if you think we're "unreliable" for covering up, or if you run away when you find out how we really look, then you're honestly not worth our time. And I know some girls are interested in what your opinion is, and I respect that, but don't make it a freaking to-do list and patronize girls and women who don't do what you think they should. All that does is make you the same as guys who REQUIRE their crushes/ girlfriends to wear makeup and look like a million bucks 24/7. It's sexist, it's a dick move, and stop it. We'll ask for your opinion when we want it.
That actually goes to a lot of these comments: unless you're keeping someone from harming someone else, your opinion can wait until someone asks for it.
    In general, just everyone. Chill.
And great vid, btw. It really helps. I hope that by now, your acne's gotten better, though you're pretty either way (and I mean that. DUDE YOUR EYES ARE FANTASTIC).

For everybody saying "oh give your skin a break. Stop putting so much makeup and then it'll go away" please stop. No one is the same, I never wear face makeup but yet still have some cysts and breakouts. Makeup makes people feel confident not because they don't think they're beautiful but because society has made them believe that they have to hide their imperfections. I'm sure as an early teen (when she first got bad acne) she didn't wear this much makeup yet it didn't go away so please don't jump to conclusions so quickly.

Her eyes may look more green because of the redness of her face. They're contrasting colors, which is why green concealer is sometimes used to cancel out redness in skin.

As a guy with bad acne I get the insecurity but for women they can cover it up and have a boost of confidence as a guy I don't wear or get make up so theres nothing to boost my confidence or forget about my acne, the only thing I do is put my hood up wherever I go and that doesn't even help really. My acne is also one of my biggest insecurities.

Mason Dean bro, coming from a guy who have been genetically handed down the curse of acne, I'll tell you all the tips to getting rid of your acne.
1-if you have oily skin, stop using oil free products, when your skin drys up it naturally thinks it needs more and so it produces more and more.
2-stop using those products and wait a few weeks to get you face oil back in order.
3-ask a dermatologist if you can try the Sulfameth/Trimethoprim pills
do not take doxycycline and minocycline, I got Henoch Pepura from it, it was bad for a month but not serious.
      4-use a bp-wash 5%
5-heres is the big part Benzoyl Peroxide works, people just don't know how to use it well, it drys up the skin like crazy, so you shouldn't wait for your body to produce oil because thats bad, instead you have to use a moisturizer or aything that can be a substitute.
6-Clyndamycine Topical is perfect for a substitute, the medicine works wonders, use it morning and nights.
7-at nights after using clindamycine and waiting 20minutes, use Tretinoin Cream 0.05%.Tretinoin helps by helping skin cells grow, my scars-yes my SCARS are disapearing. Tretinoin has many names but the most known one is Retin-A which is vitamin-A.
      other tips
wash your towels, pillowsheets and don't touch the face too often
when your going outside use Cetaphil-daily facial Moisturizer with sunscreen spf15
never and i mean never use ACUTANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dermatologist always recommended me to use it and with my regimin of keeping clean I beat acne, I even ate badly, still I get no acne, so try these steps and alter it in what fits you best.

please don't believe you can't wear makeup because society says so. if you're too nervous to buy it in public, say it's for your sister/girlfriend/etc. plus, their opinions don't matter, cause in the end how you feel about yourself is all that does. plus, most males don't know a thing or two about makeup and won't realize.

i was 16 in 2010, my face was full of acne just like yours. I even remember watching this video when i was frustrated with my acne, i even decided to wear makeup everyday since this video blew up on social media back then.
After years and years and years of watching your videos, taking notes from what you're trying to tell us, my skin got better. Now that i'm 25, i can feel how is it feels like to have a decent clean face. Just like you, i've grown into someone without much acne. It's a miracle that i'd only have a few small bumps that will go away in few days, unlike back then when i have a full face of acne ready to be pissed off by anything i put on top of it.
Cassandra, you helped me a lot. I owe you a lot all these years. I'm actually crying while writing this. Re-watching this video brings back memories, making me realize how long i've been struggling.
Thank you for everything you've done to educate us. I personally feel truly blessed by your existence on youtube.

***** Everyone gets acne. Clogging your pores with chemically treated paint (makeup) gives you acne, because your body's trying to push it out of the skin. Those chemicals get into the skin and blood stream. Not only does that give you acne, but it can cause you to become very very ill. Just like medications, makeup requires test subjects due to it's toxicity. This "thing" she developed as a child may very well have been a sequence of bad habits. May it have been the products her body had been absorbing, the dirty water she may have had on her face, the constant touching of the face, so on and so forth. It's acne. It's not some "special" medical condition that can never be cured. Acne is dirt or chemicals or any unwanted substances in the pours that your body is trying to push out because it is foreign to the body. Where as natural things that are accustom to your body like an egg, honey, cucumber water, and sugar scrub would be beneficial to the skin.

MushroomValleyGal Nobody actually knows the exact pinpoint cause of acne. They can be hormones, genetic, or the excessive oils that your pores produce. Acne is literally when hair follicles on the face get inflamed because of bacteria buildup. Acne isn't cause by a dirty face. You can have as much dirt on your face as you want, as long as you clean the excess oils and dead skin cells off. Also, it isn't medically possible for makeup to absorb through your skin and go into your "bloodstream" so you probably want to check your facts on that. While it is good to use natural remedies like you suggested, you can't just suggest causes and solutions for the acne in people you don't even know.

I remember watching this video back in secondary school and I loved your confidence! Now watching it again after 8 years has really got me appreciating your confidence; where I loved your confidence I now admire it.
Honesty I’ve loved your channel and your content for the longest and this is such a throwback video that came up on my feed, it just has me sitting here appreciating how you stepped out of your comfort zone to make girls like me feel a little bit better. You are and always will be out acne big sister and we love you ❤️

You are so brave to share your biggest insecurity with the world. So many people will be relieved to know that they are not the only ones with struggles. I have so much respect for you. And God bless you, no matter what physical insecurities you may have, your beauty shines through so clearly. Keep shining xoxo

I remember watching this about 8 years ago! A was 13 back then and i watched your videos and try to feel better about my acne. Today, 8 years later, i’m on accutane bc nothing has ever helped. 11 yrs of hiding my face and finally i feel good Without putting layers of foundation on!
