I hit one today at the range. It felt nice and flew well, but if I'm going soft, I am going Q Star Tour Divide. That ball has proven itself time and time again. But, I am curious to see what you found out. Edit: not surprised it didn't stop
Yes! More distance than the Wilson duo soft and the e contact Bridgeston , the softfli goes further. In forgiveness the best forgiving golf ball I ever played. Make the game more easy.
Yeah absolutely. Maxfly has done a wonderful job over the years and all their tour balls get all the credit. But the straight fly and the soft fly are legit
I found the SoftFli to be very forgiving off the tee. I mean, just wants to go straight. Around the greens it has a nice feel as well. The StaightFli, on the other hand, felt like hitting a ping pong 🏓
It does feel like a lot compression ball to me. I like the launch and seems to give every club in my bag a low spin rate but for me that means it stays on target. I hit the ball so high that I don’t really want a lot of spin. I make any ball stick on the green. But I have to say that this ball flies very consistent for me. I hit it long and straight. Just bought two dozen at Dicks for $30 and plan to keep them in the bag for a while. Btw I’m 48 year old 7 handicap. I hit my seven iron 180 and carry the driver about 270
Those are some pretty awesome numbers. With that type of swing speed you don't want too much spin anyway. Otherwise everything's just rolling off the front of the green
@@GolfBallAddict Appreciate the reply. I've been using the Laddie for sometime now and shoot anywhere from the low 80s to the high 90s depending on the day and found the Laddie balls as one of the best values out there. I love the soft feel off the putter and for a mid handicapper like me, a premium ball won't impact my score as much as practicing to fix swing faults to gain consistency. Not worrying about losing a $1 ball helps too. Thanks for all the great info that helps a lot of golfers like myself to make an informed decision. 👍👊🤛
I love the Softfli. For me, it does launch really high off my driver, but I can hit stingers with my 3-wood off the turf. My irons are hybrid irons, and this ball feels really good, and the high launch works going in to the green. I love the new matte yellow that came out in early '23, and I have stocked up. Now, for '24, Maxfli Softfli has a gloss yellow! Can't wait to try that...
I have a swing speed of 90-94 mph.... 58 years old.....9 to 11 handicap .... hit a high fairly straight ball....use a regular flex shaft... question is : which balls do you think would suit me best ? like a softish feel but also want distance...... can you give me 5 top balls that you would recommend........thx.....cheers from Canada
I'm similar to you but 4 years older, 7-10 handicap. I have been playing twice a week over the past year and have been playing the kirkland balls from Costco. I have been pleased with them but a couple of weeks ago I found a maxfli softfli. It does not sound like a ball made for me but I played it off the tee and hit my longest drive ever on that hole. I was able to get 4 dozen new off ebay for under 70 dollars shipped and am on only my second sleeve. So far I am impressed. I am looking forward to better weather and continuing the trial. At this point, it would be tough for me to pick the next purchase. You might want to try these maxfli balls. I hit driver 215 to 235 and 8 iron about 130-135 full. Hope this helps.
If your swing speed is over 85, this ball IS NOT for you! It will feel dead, as the compression is only 35, so you will be over compressing the ball at impact. My ss is only 75, to about 80 tops, and this ball flies off my driver for around 225 average. I can get this ball to check with my wedges, but it will roll out..
From my understanding it does, but it's very minimal for most average golfers. If you're swinging 115 mph then yes you can see a difference of 400 to 500 RPM. But for most people it's 100 to 200. Not enough to really see a difference
You will get subpar results if your swing speed for this particular golf ball is much over 80 85 miles an hour. I use this golf ball my golf swing is 77 83. 😏
Thank you so much. It originally was supposed to go right through us. I mean right in the eye and everything. However it just kept moving south to the point where we didn't even get a drop of rain. Very blessed.
Good review. I hear a lot of people who love these balls and I've tried playing a few on the course when I find them and every time I switch back to whatever I was playing before. I've tried to like it, just can't do it!
I actually used that ball a while back and hated that thing. It was launched my driver so high and short I was just as far with my wedge. As far as feel it felt like it was almost a plastic or foam practice ball. I know it spun but almost felt like it had no spiral. Yeah not a fan of the soft fli. I know they just released a Tour S I’m curious about.
Have you used this ball? How do you like it?

It felt good when I hit it, but it was blue and I couldn't find it.

Softfli is by far the most forgiving ball I’ve played as well. Just wants to go straight.

How does the Maxfli Softfli compare to the Precept Laddie Extreme you reviewed previously? They are both in the same price range.
The precept laddie out performs the soft fli in pretty much every category. The only thing the soft fli has going for it is the color options.

I love that they're still coming out with different designs and trying to improve the overall quality

Can you review the new softfli
Absolutely. Just purchased the entire maxfly line for re reviews
It seems like all the Matt finish balls are dead no matter the manf I bet the gloss finish puts up different numbers and feel
It definitely does a little bit. I agree with you that the matte balls feel a lot different.

I will bypass the softfli, but would be interested in what you think of the straightfli
It'll be coming up in a week or so

That seems to be the case.
Glad you made it through the hurricane.

I don't think there is anything majorly wrong with it. However it's just average.

I am too. I am trying to get my hands on one.
