I played the green version today with my guys it was 42 degree no wind! That ball goes! Plus, I hit a great 8 iron ( PXG0211 XCor2) into a par three, nice and high, 6’, I won the greenie! I like the sound too!
just found one in the woods looking for a ball I sliced lol I started using it and it was pretty good. after watching your video I'm going to buy a dozen. thanks for the info
I'm a 25.5HCP and these are my main balls now. My swing speed is slow, so I'm probably not getting the most of out the compression rating, but for me (and I suspect most high handicappers) it's all about keeping in in play. I just played a full 18 two days ago, shot a 90 (one off my best ever score), and played the entire round WITHOUT LOSING A SINGLE BALL. That is criteria #1 for most average golfers, IMO. These really do fly much straighter than other balls. And at $15/box, I encourage anyone with even a little slice problem to grab a box and try them!
That's definitely why the straight fli is a classic. One of the most liked balls on the channel from our community. For a good reason too, like you said, it goes far and straight, offers pretty decent forgiveness, and the value is unbeaten. Great ball
I am a 9hcp with a driver speed of about 93. I tried these to help keep the ball in play off the tee and cut down on penalty strokes. Where I play off the fairway is in the desert and trouble. This ball has delivered. I can tell because I am not losing as many balls. I like a little harder ball and some feedback and these give great feedback and the distance is very good. In fact I think they fly further than a Pro V1 by about 5 yards.
@@GolfBallAddict I bought mine off of EBAY and they have the two lines. Not sure how you can tell if they are 2023. I play about four times a week and yesterday decided to go back to the Pro v1 for a round to do another comparison. I have come to the conclusion these high spin tour balls are just harder to control my fade with. I also lose about 5 yards with my irons. I may get more spin with the PV1, but I have to use a stronger lofted club so my decent angle is less. I naturally hit a high ball and don't have a problem stopping the Straightfli on greens. BTW, love your content because your swing speed is about the same as mine and you do a thorough job. It would probably be difficult to do, but have you ever thought about doing a review on the best legal straight ball?
I have played the Maxfli straight fli for a while. They do reduce left to right "drift" to some degree as they say they will. Won't fix a bad slice but it does correct mild "drift" as I call it. However a big caution. I thought this was my forever ball because it performed so well off my irons and hybrids. After playing them for abut 6 months and devoting my game to ball striking I moved on to fixing my putting. What I found is that the dimple pattern that is best described as having a traingle patterrn on several sides of the ball causes the putts to roll untrue. When the ball rolls over the trangle pattern it will move the ball offline.
Just got back from golfing 18 holes. I had full fairway straight drives except a few that were flubbed all on me. Very happy with distance for me too. Tried wilson ultra 500 the time before this and had good luck with straight drives but lost a LOT of distance. Averaged about 15 yards less than normal for me. Thanks for your reviews.
That's the same issue I had with the Wilson 500 also. Honestly it had terrible numbers. I love the straight fli and I'm glad you shared a similar experience😃
9:25 I swing 115-120 mph with driver, so this ball isn’t good? You said to get something else, but I like the fact that it goes 20% straighter so I wanted to use this one.
So there's a couple things to dissect here. If you swing that fast, and you're looking for a two-piece golf ball that goes straight, My first question for you would be how many fairways you are hitting. If the answer to that it's pretty low, such as 20 to 40%, my first piece of advice would be to slow that swing speed down just a hair to use a more steady smooth swing to get more accuracy. Better to be 260 in the fairway, then 275 OB Now on the other hand, if this doesn't apply to you. And you're actually hitting the fairways pretty straight. Here's what I would say about this golf ball for that swing speed. You're not going to be able to get the max effect out of it, you'll probably lose 10 yards from overcompressing it. However losing the 10 yards is definitely worth it for how straight it goes. It would definitely be worth a shot considering the value.
Also, if you're looking for a straighter golf ball, I would recommend the titleist velocity and also the cut red. The cut red is a better value than the velocity, however I believe the velocity could have a chance to allow you not to lose any distance and still hit the golf ball super straight. So the straight fly, velocity, and cut red I think are all worth a shot for you eventually. If you happen to try any of them please let me know how you like them.
Good ball. I like it in spring and fall. Weather isn’t great and can lose them in leaves no problem on cost. Great best shot ball. Driver and longer shots. Around the green go with the tour model. Which I love overall. And I’m a Prov guy overall. 3.3 hcp. 98-102 DSS. No issues on short irons as I tend to spin it pretty good. Good job on reviewing.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. I really appreciate it. I definitely love the max fli on days when my swings just a little to sideways. The ball goes so straight
Hey Nick. Thanks for these great reviews. This one looks like the ‘22 model. The ‘23+ has a black number and green stripes on the alignment tool. Any chance you can review those too? Thank you much, sir. Love the channel, and appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.
I picked up a couple dozen of these to split with a buddy just starting out. Maybe I was coincidentally swinging the worst I ever have the last 3 rounds, but these balls seemed to go all over the place for me. Switched back to my normal srixon ball and everything was fine.
That's interesting. Who knows, could have been a bad day or a bad batch. My testing showed really good consistent straight flight. Hardly any side spin at all.
My launch monitor doesn't read side spin nor does it show me spreads. 2 piece golf balls are naturally designed to have less side spin, and the difference between the straightest and non straightest is minimal
Yeah that's truly incredible. If you find a golf ball you really love and you can get them for that type of price, it's hard to go any cheaper than that
how does the back spin of this ball compare with the Bridgestone e6? I currently play this ball BUT they are a little hard to find 2nd hand, but the Bridgestone e6 is easier to find epically in the yellow color, I was wondering which has better backspin
They're actually both very good and very close. When it comes to the two-piece golf ball these are some of the best performers of backspin. I actually just got done retesting the straightfly and it had well above average even on the 50 yard pitch. I haven't exactly tested deep metrics with the e6 but I remember it being spinny at the time
@GolfBallAddict i guess I should give the bridgestone a try then, I want a ball that is super forgiving withcmore distance on off center hits, but also has a fair amount of greenside control, it's looking like based on what you have said the Bridgestone and the maxfli are what are going to give me the best possible mix of that then. I myself am more of a casual golfer myseld who dosen't take his game too seriously and am just out there to have some fun.
Personally I like the straightfli. The numbers are great, the ball goes straight, and the prices reasonable. Now granted keep this in mind, I don't have a lot of situations where I really need to bend the ball at will. Very rarely do I need to hit a nasty slice or a crippling hook. 99% of the time I need something long and straight and that's why this golf ball works better for me. However if I needed to bend it the door would be the case
If you swing pretty fast the straight fly should be fine in the winter. If you're more of an average swing speed, I'd say 85 to 90, the softfli is where I would go during the winter
The Wilson zip definitely does beat it. It does also depend on your swing speed. But as long as it's under 100 Wilson zip beats it everyday of the week
You'll have to give me a couple days on this one. This srixon soft feel is the next golf ball I am testing. I will have an answer for you in a couple days.
Hello Hello??? You should have concentrated more on whether these balls stay in play more than other balls as promoted! You should have had a shot spread especially on the drives and included other balls In the comparison.
The launch monitor I'm using doesn't have that capability. I mentioned that the straightfly is extremely forgiving and straight. That's all I can really do right now. The whole idea of it being called "straight fli" is just marketing anyway. All two piece golf balls claim to go straighter and farther than other brands.
My guy I am already one of the messiest people you will ever meet. Combine that with my Painting career and I always just look like a paint can exploded on me.
Wheres the best place for your golf ball to go? STRAIGHT!

Can't beat the value on the old models. I hate that the price went up. But hopefully the quality did too.
Have you played the new 2023 model yet?

Yes they are in line to be reviewed. Not sure exactly when it will be but it will be this year
I picked up a couple dozen of these to split with a buddy just starting out. Maybe I was coincidentally swinging the worst I ever have the last 3 rounds, but these balls seemed to go all over the place for me. Switched back to my normal srixon ball and everything was fine.

Thank you for you reviewing this ball, now would be interesting compare precept laddie, cut red, wilson zip and straightfli
Ooo. Those are 4 of the best balls I've tested. You're keeping receipts! 😀
The question is, was this ball straighter than the other balls? That is what they are marketing. It would be nice to show the shot spread.
My launch monitor doesn't read side spin nor does it show me spreads. 2 piece golf balls are naturally designed to have less side spin, and the difference between the straightest and non straightest is minimal
You are my number one guy for ball reviews. Great videos man
Thank you so much! 😃
I really like these - also i just picked up two 48 packs for $40 each ($50 minus s 20% off coupon). Incredible deal!
Yeah that's truly incredible. If you find a golf ball you really love and you can get them for that type of price, it's hard to go any cheaper than that

Have the same irons ,Love Em!
You have amazing taste my fellow Mizuno brother
So if I use this for driving, should I use a different ball when chipping or putting? If so, which one?
Personal preference. I would try out a variety of three piece softer golf balls to try around the green.
My driver swing speed is close to 105. I was pleasantly shocked when I drove this ball 280 yards and straight. I staying with this ball
It's such an awesome ball. So forgiving and straight. Great for a lot of golfers
Do you like the MaxFli StraightFli over the Tour? Which has better results for you?
Personally I like the straightfli. The numbers are great, the ball goes straight, and the prices reasonable. Now granted keep this in mind, I don't have a lot of situations where I really need to bend the ball at will. Very rarely do I need to hit a nasty slice or a crippling hook. 99% of the time I need something long and straight and that's why this golf ball works better for me. Good winter ball where the course is frozen, you can run them up there?
If you swing pretty fast the straight fly should be fine in the winter. If you're more of an average swing speed, I'd say 85 to 90, the softfli is where I would go during the winter
This straight fli or the Wilson zip? New golfers that swing hard ?
The Wilson zip definitely does beat it. It does also depend on your swing speed. But as long as it's under 100 Wilson zip beats it everyday of the week
You did not address the main reason to try this ball: it supposedly will fly straighter. Will it help keep the ball in play and out of the hazards.
That's the purpose of all two piece distance balls. The straight fli is exceptional at this though
Did the numbers check out on course?
Yes
How would you compare this to the srixon soft feel? What’s better in your opinion.
You'll have to give me a couple days on this one. This srixon soft feel is the next golf ball I am testing. I will have an answer for you in a couple days.
I think this will end up in the 20's in your countdown.
👀
Was it straightish?
Very.

What kind of paint did you use?🤣
My guy I am already one of the messiest people you will ever meet. Combine that with my Painting career and I always just look like a paint can exploded on me.
How does this ball compare to the wilson zip?
Zip is slightly better. Especially if you prefer soft feel
If you haven't tested a ball, how can we trust it? 😂😂😂
1 stop shop so thank you sir
LOL thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment that.
