Honestly, I was only here to get ideas for my own DIY knife display rack/case, but the way you do a voice over, your care, and craftsmanship has made me a fan. I'll be looking forward to your uploads.
Thanks Andy! Yeah I had pretty good luck with this one. I haven't had one break yet but apparently it's pretty common. Fingers crossed on the next one!
I really like how you use both power and hand tools. Great work. I wish Walnut trees were a little more abundant in eastern Virginia. That stuff is beautiful no matter how things I see made with it
Hey I saw one of your videos that mentioned the lumber place in Elkwood. I might make an adventurous all day trip up that way in the future. There are few places near here but are a little pricey. I do some chainsaw milling and would prefer to mill my own. If you knew anyone who would want to trade lumber for lumber that would be awsome.
Superb, just superb. It is a real joy to watch you - a real craftsman at work. And one other point that I wish other channels would take heed of - you have music on the video but it is at a very low non-intrusive background volume. Thank you.
Thanks man! I really liked this build. It was low stress, appreciative clients, no hiccups, etc. I just get excited about working with other mediums. I'm waiting for the "make whatever you want" commission :)
Thank you again for sharing. The framing, sequencing and narration truly set you apart from other channels. The story is why i build custom pieces, and the way you highlight that is the reason you are quickly becoming my favorite channel
i’m a bit of a knife collector myself and this is so awesome! ive built my dad an antique golf club display, so this video inspired me to make a display case of my own. great work as always!
Really nice piece. I just love how walnut looks and how great it is to work with. I liked the way you used knife steel for the catch. I concur regarding Brusso hardware. No reason to skimp on hinges with a nice piece like this one.
Exceptional piece and craftsmanship. Love how you put that extra thought into your designs to bring out the special features of your furniture; nice touch. I also love your video style.
Love the video, the build, the design and the narration! Really aspiring to build simple clean projects like this and all the step by step really has me thinking about how I would go about my own project. Keep it up and thanks for sharing!!!
That is a lovely cabinet! I just used my first set of Brusso hinges on the box I just finished and (also not getting paid) you are right they feel sturdy and beefy and well made and worthy of whatever piece your putting them into. Definitely use that steel screw. Even having pre drilled the holes I snapped the first screw I tried
Very nice. Beautiful piece. The only critique I have is the way the glass was set. I'm not sure, but being set with caulk i would think over time that would come loose. Hope I'm wrong. Great piece and I love your channel. Please more videos.
Beautiful piece! I was about to do a collab with a knife collector on a knife display out of walnut with some hidden storage. Now I need to change it a bit. -rusted oak woodworks
How much was that piece of nice work what would you charge for half of that size and not have to use the high end materials for I just have a 1/2 right now and plan to have dozen of knifes .
@@wmwalkerco VERY flimsy. Though I took the advice of some youtuber (cant remember who had the idea..) and ripped some pine studs into the size of that opening. MUCH more stable now. Edit: ua-cam.com/video/AyKiGmRq3wY/v-deo.html It was Paul Sellers!
Man i love your work. The video format is awesome its so calming. Keep up the good work grest build btw beautiful piece. I found your channel from the walnut table that thing was beautiful. P.s. your need a router plane to clean your groves up
love it. although in my humble opinion. i wouldve liked it better if the displayed knife is held on by a magnetized wood bars. or few small stubs of magnetized wood to make as if the knives are floating inside the case.
I just reread your question. As far as the lift goes, I'm using a spare fixed base and adjusting it from underneath. The custom way would be to build a torsion box or platform to fit in between the rails, drill holes in the rails and bolt it on to the right if the cast iron table and buy one of the lift mechanisms and inset that. I might do that in the future
@@wmwalkerco I use the same setup, I was hoping you had a much better solution because adjusting like this can be a pain in the ass if you're trying to dial in a specific depth for the bit

You're my new favorite filmmaker+woodwoorker here in youtube sir!
agree !
That's a beautiful case. Great work.
I love the idea of having a custom piece built and getting a video of the construction to keep along with the it!
Great work!! Those small brass screws are always a nail-biter...breaking them is a nightmare.
Thanks Andy! Yeah I had pretty good luck with this one. I haven't had one break yet but apparently it's pretty common. Fingers crossed on the next one!
This turned out so well. The attention you pay to the little details is inspiring, Will!

Where are you in Eastern VA? I'm in central VA and could point you in some places that are located in between us.

Absolutely gorgeous piece. Walnut is always a blast to work with.
I understand what you said about getting jaded about working with walnut all the time but dang is this pretty!

Great work as always Will! Reminds me of a bow and arrow display mount a made out of a scrap piece of walnut for a girl I like a couple of years ago.
So beautiful - absolutely stunning.
Beautiful work. A cabinet of that quality certainly deserves quality hardware.
Your videos put me in a very relax state. I just chill and relax to the music and your narration. thank you.
Great looking case. I like the small details... They make all the difference.
Gorgeous! Can’t imagine that the recipient is anything but delighted!

That slo mo shot of you finishing the resaw on the bandsaw was so awesome I watched it four times!!
Always a pleasure to watch a new Will Walker video. Thanks for sharing sir.

Great build Will as always. Laying out the steps on a beautiful piece is great motivation and inspiring. Thanks
hint - use brown or black silicone for the glazing, clear seems to always look like dried snot after it cures. At least for me. Stunning piece.
Thanks Will - lovely project and great video too.
Fantastic job on this knife case! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Gorgeous case.
Looking to build a case for my own knife collection. This was very helpful. Exceeds my skill and equipment level but some great ideas.
Really nice cabinet Will! Great video as always!
A truly beautiful piece of work.
I love the finish danish oil has on walnut! Beautiful
Glad you're back, we missed you! Uploading positives vibes your way from Atlanta!

A real beauty, very very nice product (video AND woodwork!)
simple, elegant yet very refined down to the smallest detail. well played sir, well played!
Great work, I love working with walnut
Absolutely stunning. How many hours did it take to make? Thanks!!

Looks amazing.

Beautiful stuff Will. Keep up the great work.
Lovely work William. Get more of these style commissions!

Incredible attention to detail my friend!
Beautiful piece man that danish oil really makes it pop
Walnut and Danish oil go together like mac and cheese!
My god that wood is pretty

nice piece Will! Your videos are always so relaxing...
Hello, wonderful knife organizer. Can you make it again? How much would it cost?
Great job, looks amaze
The drinking straw is my favor way to get rid of glue! awesome video. Always entertaining
Just beautiful work, quality video as well.
Gorgeous build! I’m a new subscriber and I love your story telling and cinematography style. Also your woodworking is superb.
Beautiful work. I'm jealous of your resaw setup.
Love it! I want one!
Great video! You make some awesome faces, especially at the table saw
Love what your doing on here! Amazing!
I like it! Only thing I would have done differently is figure out how to hide magnets in the strips to hold the knives. Excellent work!!
Nice work sir!
I always love seeing you videos!
Nice job, I so will have to add that type of router bits to my collection.
Amazing job! WOW! Inspiring!
Another nice video and project!
Nice, and I enjoyed the narration.
Hmmm do I spot proof that high quality stuff can be made with Harbor Freight clamps? Looks great!
You sure can. They are pretty flimsy though hahaha

I was about to say, isnt that a Paul Sellers trick?
@@wmwalkerco You would be right! I wanted to say it was him.. but wasn't sure. It's a neat trick. Good use for scraps or a $3 2x4.
Don't forget the use of a Harbor Freight moving blanket which was used at the end of the video.
Gorgeous build!
I would buy one for sure.
Beautiful
Your Walnut always looks amazing. Is it air dried? Mine never looks quite that good in color. Amazing cabinet. Great job.
Yep. Air dryed. I picked up a stash on barter a while ago.
Great video. I really like the knife display case, being a knife guy. Any chance you'd come on a gear podcast and talk about your work?

Danish oil is life!
Thank you....there were at least two vampire moments
.. and im sad you didn't see them.
@@wmwalkerco Oh I did! I just ran away from the video in fear for my life.
Incredible work, as usual.
love it. although in my humble opinion. i wouldve liked it better if the displayed knife is held on by a magnetized wood bars. or few small stubs of magnetized wood to make as if the knives are floating inside the case.
Gorgeous work. I have a question though, We have the same table saw..what are you using for a router lift?? I haven't found a great solution myself.
Grizzly sells it as an upgrade or accessory. They actually updated it recently to include miter slots in the router wing
