I really love the problem solving involved in woodworking. Dealing with the hole from the loose router bit with a dowel was smart - putting in another to match so it looked like it was on purpose was brilliant! Great build, and nice result!
WOW THE BEST DISPLAY CASE IVE SEEN ON UA-cam WAS LOOKING FOR IDEAL FOR MY C10 CHEVY TRUCKS HOT WHEELS AND BIG SCALE TRUCKS COLLECTION AND THIS FEED MY NEEDS LOVE IT THE LEDS AND CARPET WAS WONDERFULL THE CARPET WAS A NEW ONE I LEARNED THANKS!!!!
very nicely done, love the lighting of the book case, and love your channel, love the way you explain step by step, a lot of guys don't explain or give much tips, thanx for that
Looks great! Awesome that you powered through the issues you faced and even nicer to see you show them in a video. We've all been there but making the best of it is not always easy.
Cool project. I like how you leave in the mishaps and how you overcome them. I watch a few other channels where they edit out that stuff, but yeah it’s good to see the ideas or ways around these sorts of things.
That turned out amazing. You never fail to amaze me with your clever jigs, the corner slot cutting jig and forster bit guide demonstrate your incredible ability to resolve challenges. Great job!
Terrific project, and the finish you chose is fantastic. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess, but I wonder if you could have used those dowels to add some sort of feature to the cabinet instead of simply filling the router hole. Maybe some sort of storage solution for the matching movie disks, or a plaque with a brass plate, or something.
really love this project. When I saw this it immediately reminded me of the thing on my todo-list: a case for my families medals (sports). Definitely will use your example as advice. It looks awesome and I really love your videos.
This build is awsome! I just found your channel and your shop looks very much like my shop. I also have a small garage as a workshop and i have the same makita table saw. Nice to meet you!
@@WoodshopJunkies Yeah but we prove you don't have to have a big shop tho make stuff. I watched your videos where you make your workbench too, it give me some inspiration! thanks man!
@@WoodshopJunkies Oh thanks man, that is very nice of you. That is how i like it in our community! Greetings my friend and we will see each other in our videos!
Thanks for the video. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one having bad days in the workshop. Just a few questions, what type of oil did you use for the cabinet and the jigs that you used for clamping the door frame can you make a video of that as well. I'm not a pro when it comes to woodworking and only have started now so novice is not even the word. Thanks for a great video it was very informative.
Thanks Hendrik. I have made videos on most of the jigs and diy tools I used in this video. I have added them to the video description. Here is the clamp though ua-cam.com/video/WWWguuKO-y8/v-deo.html
I realize that lot of time has passed since this originally posted, so you may have had this suggestion given on another video: for fixing errors in wood, such as your router malfunction, remember to save your sawdust (empty bags/filters between projects). Then, if you don't have scrap material available for a patch, you can create a sawdust/glue mixture and fix holes with the same material that the project is made of. Or still use a dowel (if of other material) but still cover the "blemish" with the sawdust/glue mixture, then sand it smooth.
Super cool build. I noticed you didn't wear safety glasses when you were running your saw! Dude! You're gonna put out your eye! My friend got a splinter shot into his eye and it messed him up permanently. Be careful.
what i want to know is what kind of rechargeable battery pack is that and where can i get it? i have never seen one for led strip lights i could use that forsure please let me know anyone who knows where i can get that, or did you just make the led strip wire into a usb connection to connect to the powerbank?
It's a USB type LED strip. Normally used for TV back lights. They are 5V and can be powered from any 5V power bank with a high enough power output. Theres a link in video description to the type of LEDs
Thanks so much your sir Brother' I Wish you Praise the lord Thanks for your good amazing wooden Work UA-cam help Thankyou GOD bless your GOD bless your family GOD bless your cuntry +
I'm using a Triton router. Standard functionality includes a built-in height adjustment winder so simply mounting the router upside down allows for it to be used like that. ua-cam.com/video/I583nMcRcGY/v-deo.html
Yeah, but when I need to I roll the bench a bit more toward the door. I need it setup like this for now because I can only record from the doors side. If I record from the other side I would be pointing the camera into the sun shining in through the open garage door. I have plans to add windows and a door at the back of the garage which would hopefully solve that problem.
nice project, but wen you do the work and show us you can do a bit of music in background it will pop up the video quality even more. anyway nice work and keep it up
I plan to. Not entirely but a large section. I'm still deciding where I want to put the back door though. Moving to a new shop is exciting but draining.
First time watcher and enjoyed watching. "Okay guys".

Great build! Love how you overcame issues and even turned then into part of the design i.e. dowels. Look forward to seeing the rest of your channel
very nice project. I like the LED light up of the books. Makes it classy!

Very cool Project. Please more of these. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

a few questions:
1) what species of wood did you use?
2) what type of treatment/stain?
Love the setup!
very nice project... wow.. i like it.
The South African accent just adds to the video in the best way
I wish Elon Musk still had his. He's my favorite African American.

Great project. Very well done sir.

Your a great brother.....I hope he appreciates what you did for him! Great job! Beautiful wood....what species of wood?
It's a southern African wood called Kiaat or sometimes also referred to as African Teak.
What a great build, thanks for sharing with us.

I sooo Love it!!! Thanks!!
Merveilleux ! Très intéressant le système !
Absolutely love this! Huge HP fan!
realy nicely made
Very nice!
just stumbled upon this. Great work! Just wondering, if you kept the led lights on 24/7, how often to you find yourself charging the battery bank?
Love your work, keep it up m8
Great display case, thanks for sharing, also how long does the power bank last with the lighting ?
I haven't run it all the way down but I before building it I tested it and lost 25% after 3 hours (according to the battery indicator on the baterry)
That’s not bad, thanks for prompt reply, great channel.
AMAZING!! You've done this so good!!! Looks realy great!!
I would have ended up with the router bit in my hand... Looks great!
Yeah, it was a close one for me. Gave me a huge scare.
Great project and execution. What wood did you use there? Is it a type of gum?
Really like the videos watch them all the time. Could I get a name of the single filter face mask you wear ?
Looks great 👌🏻

What router lift do you have installed? And is it generic or specific to your set up.
I'm using a Triton router. Standard functionality includes a built-in height adjustment winder so simply mounting the router upside down allows for it to be used like that. ua-cam.com/video/I583nMcRcGY/v-deo.html
Perfetto 😄😄
how much to make me one of these without the leds, and battery pack?
Ek wonder hoe afrikaans was die woorde toe jy agterkom die router bit het los gekom! Maar kassie het baie goed uitgekom!
Ja nee kyk ek sal vir jou se ek was bitter onsteld. Ek was wel bitter verlig ook want dit was amper en hy was deur my hand.
@@WoodshopJunkies Jy kon dit gehou het vir n blooper real. 😉 Jy werk is altyd uit die bonste rakke.
suprized to see you have the table saw at the wall side instead of near the dooropening
the way youre setup now prevents you from ripping long pieces

What's the wood you used? Excellent job btw.
It's Kiaat. Sometime also called wild teak.
@@WoodshopJunkies ah right awesome. It looked a little like Iroko.
My Bra! Well done waar koop jy die hout?
Het gekoop by M&A Timbers in Stikland. Ek koop meestal sulke tiepes hout by hulle.
I recently had a router bit walk up on me during the EXACT SAME PROCESS. Just diabolical...so frustrating.
Awesome
Hi, I know the router bit coming through the wood is not common, but I have seen the same thing happen on videos in the last two weeks
I honestly don't know what happened but it was a good reminder for me to keep checking my tools before use. The bit came out very close to my hand.
If i want a wooden project who can i find in my area?
I saw the same jig used with a tablesaw and dado blades.
I do not have dado blades, but I DO have a router.
Hello my friend can I have the plans please
NICE+++++++++
10/10
Wood filler, give and take, the nice thing about working with wood.
Could of used that accidental hole for an external toggle switch for the LEDs.
Other than that, cool “collectors” box.
Ich will auch so einen Bruder ^^
nice project, but wen you do the work and show us you can do a bit of music in background it will pop up the video quality even more. anyway nice work and keep it up
Stain and brass just pop together
How about covering those walls with 5mm plywood.
