Eating or drinking out in public is only applied for Muslims during the month of Ramadhan. If they get caught doing so, they will be fine heavily. Non Muslims are not obligated to this law but it's just not appropriate to eat or drink openly in public during Ramadhan. For foreigners it's something new that you have to learn and adapt. So it's OK if you got it wrong the first time around. Ramadhan is actually the best time to experience the food culture here in Malaysia cause there are some food and dishes that's only available during Ramadhan cause it's considered as Ramadhan delicacies or specialties. So just enjoy Ramadhan with some great food and dishes. Eid Mubarak will come after a month of Ramadhan and the food during this time of celebration will also be different and special cause it's only prepared during Eid Mubarak celebration. It'll be great to have a few Muslims friends by this time cause you'll definitely want to go to their open houses during this time of celebration to enjoy the food. Just make sure to dress up first before going to the open houses. Maybe buying some new Malay women traditional clothes or baju kurung. You'll definitely look beautiful wearing this clothes especially with the color yellow. Have a nice day Yellow Princess. Be safe and stay healthy 😷😁👍💖👍🥰😷

Non Muslims can eat in public during Ramadan unless non Muslims choose not to eat in front of their Muslim friends out of respect on their own choice. The law is only applicable to Muslims. Muslims who are sick and Muslim women going through their menstrual cycle are exempted from fasting and they can eat at home and not in public but they have to replace their missed fasting when they are back in good health. No such thing as "inappropriate" for non Muslims to eat in public. Again the law does not apply to non Muslims.

Yeah that's not the call for prayer (azan), yet. But usually it's the _bilal_ (who also does the call of prayer), or it may be the _imam_ (who leads the prayer) who gets to the mosque early and recites some verses of the Quran for 10 or 15 minutes prior to the time for azan. This is done especially so during the month of Ramadhan, because Muslims are highly encouraged to read more of the Quran, among other things, during this month, and that in turn is because it was during ramadhan that God revealed the Quran to prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Answering God's call upon us to do good with honesty during ramadhan, may lead to the promised multiplication of the rewards in the afterlife. Knowing this too, may also cause some opportunistic scammers to try their luck to take advantage on the more generous mindset of the people. But probably not all of them are scammers though, there may be some genuine cases, and sadly it's hard for us to distinguish which is which. But for us, it's the act of giving that counts, so sometimes I choose the middle path: give without any question but only a tiny amount, or give non perishable food like cookies (biscuits), so that for eg it's not something that would easily be used to buy (illegal) drugs etc

Actually u can eat in public during Ramadan for non muslims. It shouldn't be a problem. But usually in Malaysia we try to respect everyone's beliefs so non Muslims will try to not eat publicly. Hi. I highly recommend that you try fasting. We Muslims are fasting during ramadan for spiritual healing, to elevate our faith in God mercy, and detox our body. We are not just fasting but also keep ourselves from indulgence and always be patient.
Sometimes I wonder why people come to Malaysia in Ramadan , of all the months there are, knowing that we are a muslim nation , and then complaining that you can't eat in public during the day. Its good to read something about the culture of the country prior to your visit. It saves you from a lot of shocks. Maybe Ramadan is just not for everybody.
@@the.yellow.princess Well, enjoy your coffee in the free world before you go to jail???? It raises some eyebrows. Anyway the law you quoted is the Malaysian Syariah Laws. If you see somebody eating in public, during the day in Ramadhan, most likely he is a foreigner . This, we are aware ! So dont worry. You wont go to jail.
I dont think its illegal for tourist to eat in public during the day of ramadan. but as a sign of respect for those who are fasting, it should be respected to not eat in front of them. luckily you have us here. there's no such thing you'll be arrested for that... jail is not for you, your place is in my heart... teeheehee...
Canadians are ever ready to improvise. Stirring your cup of coffee with the sachet strip reminded me of a Canadian girl I visited at the ROM in Toronto who was doing research there as a summer job. Hahahah her pen! I am very resourceful, but I must credit the stirring with a sachet to my Malaysian followers! I have a whole video on testing methods that were suggested when I didn’t have a spoon🤣
@@al8775 mind you the friend who stirred the coffee with a ball point pen already had a UofTDegree in Biology and was a third year medical student at the UofT. Didn't do me any damage. It's not illegal to eat in public in Ramadan if you're not Muslim. Nobody minds if you eat. TTDI Ramadan bazaar is good. A bit pricey but good. The beggars are Rohingya not local
No worries, the act only implies to majority malay muslims & some other race ( chinese/indian) that are muslims only. As for other religion/foreigners that aren'tmuslim, shouldn't be an issue if you are eating outside (in cafes/malls/food vendors etc) during ramadhan month. We understood :) . It is just, more out of respect for those who are fasting.
For non muslims, its ok to eat in public & its legal orite😂. to respect our fellow muslims who r fasting throughout the day, most would eat in private or having food/drinks at the chinese foodcourts/restaurants.
For non-Muslims its not illegal to eat in the daytime during Ramadhan. Just look around you, the local Chinese, the Indians, the Westerners, the Muslim Malays (most of them would pretend to be Filipinos 😂) eat in broad daylight and the Muslims won't bat an eyelid anyway. It's just for your own courtesy sake not to eat in front of those who are fasting especially the older generations.
hi there.. this is my first time watching your videos and i felt attracted to you. I am a Malaysian and I would like get to know u as a friend. Will you give me the honor to be your friend? thanks 😊
No...if you're non-muslim, it's not illegal to drink or eat in public during Ramadan. The rule only applies to musllim but the mutual respect to each other has made it an etiquette for non-muslims to somewhat not do it too openly..❤ And the beggars you see at TTDI would likely be Rohingyas with UNHCR cards who are not allowed to beg... but it has been a struggle to control their activities. Henceforth you don't see the public being too sympathetic to them because of some of the social problems they have brought with them.

Btw u have beautiful eyes 😍😍
💛
You're so stunning
💛
Actually u can eat in public during Ramadan for non muslims. It shouldn't be a problem. But usually in Malaysia we try to respect everyone's beliefs so non Muslims will try to not eat publicly. Tho I have to say most people are ok with their non Muslim friends who eat. So in short legally, yes u are allowed to eat in public. Just be respectful of anyone who do fast. That's about it.
💛
Recall back what you heard after you hear the voice said 'open your eyes'...
After I heard “ open your eyes “ I opened them and I was awake and all was OK!
@@the.yellow.princess avoid walking under big trees or dirty places..you should be ok-is it almost dawn that time?

Have a great day in Malaysia 🙏🏼 please pardon my misdemeanor 😆

Hi. I highly recommend that you try fasting. We Muslims are fasting during ramadan for spiritual healing, to elevate our faith in God mercy, and detox our body. We are not just fasting but also keep ourselves from indulgence and always be patient.
I have never done it! That is definitely a great idea for me to think about thank you! 💛

The family begging money are not locals. They are a syndicate prying on kind people.
I thought maybe 🥹
its only for Muslim 😊 You can eat n drink as usual. No worry 😊
Who’s complaining? Someone’s cranky lol
@@the.yellow.princess Well, enjoy your coffee in the free world before you go to jail???? It raises some eyebrows. Anyway the law you quoted is the Malaysian Syariah Laws. It doesn't apply to non muslims . Dont worry. Only that Malaysians are taught to refrain from eating in public as a show of respect and considerations for our muslim friends. If you see somebody eating in public, during the day in Ramadhan, most likely he is a foreigner . This, we are aware ! So dont worry. You wont go to jail.
Those are illegal migrants or refugees begging. Just ignore them. BTW, begging is illegal here.

@@the.yellow.princess we hv 180k to 200k rohinyas here. They are from myanmar. Yes, they take advantage of our kindness.
Helloooi
the sound effects you be putting in your videos 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
🤣
I dont think its illegal for tourist to eat in public during the day of ramadan. but as a sign of respect for those who are fasting, it should be respected to not eat in front of them. luckily you have us here. there's no such thing you'll be arrested for that... jail is not for you, your place is in my heart... teeheehee...

Canadians are ever ready to improvise. Stirring your cup of coffee with the sachet strip reminded me of a Canadian girl I visited at the ROM in Toronto who was doing research there as a summer job. She made me a cup of coffee, couldn't find a spoon, she used her ball point pen on her desk as a stirrer.
Hahahah her pen! I am very resourceful, but I must credit the stirring with a sachet to my Malaysian followers! I have a whole video on testing methods that were suggested when I didn’t have a spoon🤣
Not hygienic....some Canadians don't wash their hands either.....Oh Canada our home and native land . ...
@@al8775 that’s why I used the package, less dirty than my Canadian hands 🤣
@@al8775 mind you the friend who stirred the coffee with a ball point pen already had a UofTDegree in Biology and was a third year medical student at the UofT. Didn't do me any damage. In fact, my immune system has improved over the years eating with my hands as well. Have not visited a Doctor for flu, fevers or other seasonal infections in the last 6 years or more. Last admitted in Hospital, was for a day due to a road accident. During the Covid period I had four vaccinations of Pfizer. Never had a warm or hot shower in the last decade and more. I have 3 showers daily. The last one could be as late as 3.00 a.m. if I still sweat while on bed. Not bragging here, just living life. When it is your time to go (die) you go. It might be that I have been taking George Carlin's advice on health, a little seriously. 😀😀😀
🙏💛
For non muslims, its ok to eat in public & its legal orite😂. to respect our fellow muslims who r fasting throughout the day, most would eat in private or having food/drinks at the chinese foodcourts/restaurants.
💛
In islam we believe a djinn sitting in ur chest. To avoid it we sleep sideway. It will keep the djinn from holding ur chest.
😳🙏💛
For non-Muslims its not illegal to eat in the daytime during Ramadhan. Just look around you, the local Chinese, the Indians, the Westerners, the Muslim Malays (most of them would pretend to be Filipinos 😂) eat in broad daylight and the Muslims won't bat an eyelid anyway. It's just for your own courtesy sake not to eat in front of those who are fasting especially the older generations.
🙏💛
Those beggars are not msian. Mostly are myanmars. Its illegal
DDTI👍. ..
hi there.. this is my first time watching your videos and i felt attracted to you. I am a Malaysian and I would like get to know u as a friend. Will you give me the honor to be your friend? thanks 😊
No...if you're non-muslim, it's not illegal to drink or eat in public during Ramadan. The rule only applies to musllim but the mutual respect to each other has made it an etiquette for non-muslims to somewhat not do it too openly..❤
And the beggars you see at TTDI would likely be Rohingyas with UNHCR cards who are not allowed to beg... but it has been a struggle to control their activities. Henceforth you don't see the public being too sympathetic to them because of some of the social problems they have brought with them.
🙏💛✨
