@Travelling Solo Logs you can get halal chinese meals at a chinese muslim restaurant like Homst in Kampung Baru Jalan Raja Abdullah or at Mohamad Chan Abdullah restaurants.
Hello, Chris. As a Malaysian, I always order Nasi lemak with spicy chicken at McDonald's for lunch or dinner. Porridge is a good food to eat if you have the flu or a fever, or during the rainy season. To be honest, you did an excellent job identifying the spicy sauce as one for Nasi Lemak rather than rice porridge. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday for the first Ramadan bazaar, which will feature a wide variety of food that will astound you. Here are some of the best foods to get or find later at the bazaar: 1. Ayam Percik - The chickens are marinated in spices like turmeric, lemongrass, cumin, coconut milk, and others before being roasted to perfection. 2. Roti John - an inside long bun filled with either chicken or beef minced meat and wrapped in eggs with a messy sauce similar to mayo. 3. Kebab and roasted lamb - the same as before, but better. 4. Traditional Malay desserts known as kuih-muih, such as kuih talam, kuih lopes, kuih bengka, tepung pelita, as well as modern treats such as jellies and cheese tarts. 5. Colorful, Iced Cold Drinks - You'll find it throughout the bazaar, with a variety of juice options ranging from watermelon to an unknown drink that you must guess and try. 6. Apam balik, also known as upside-down pancakes, are typically filled with peanuts and corn, and the crispy variety is preferred. 7. Murtabak - similar to roti john but in square form with thick and juicy minced meat (chicken or beef) and onions wrapped in a crispy, paper thin roti. I can't write it any longer. Chris, you will explore the bazaar later. See ya!
Chris, so far you have only tried mostly Malay foods and some Indian food. You need to check out the Malaysian Chinese foods like Char Kway Teaw (pan fried noodles), Hainanese Chicken Rice, and wonton noodles with BBQ pork. Also don't forget to try cendol (desert).
100% correct, you are missing real good Malaysian food if you don't try Malaysian-Chinese food. You missed out Pan mee, curry mee, Prawn mee, Kolo mee. Cantonese mee and many others.
Hi Chris.... since you're in Malaysia just before the start of fasting month, you should try visiting some of the local Ramadan Bazaar.... for example, at Kg. Baru, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI), or any Bazaar aroung K.L area. You will be shocked to see the the local food over there. Enjoy your stay in Malaysia and hope to bump into you in KL area. Take care
Hey Chris! You make my gym sessions so much easier, thank you for everything that you do, for being so authentic, and for being humble as well. Wishing you great success man 💯💵😎🤟

Try Malaysian-Chinese food. Most Malaysian-Chinese food are unique to Malaysia/Singapore and you can't get it anywhere else in the world. For me they are one of the best food I ever liked.
I just left Kuala Lumpur. In Taiwan atm. Leaving for Thailand this week. If you head back to Thai let me know. Love to see another vet living the good life.
In Morocco I saw you worn their national costume. I want to see you wear the Malaysian national costume the 'baju melayu'. Go to Jalan TAR they have lots of shops selling it. 👍

Malay food in Malaysia is the goat. Hope you are enjoying yourself with all the different authentic Malay cuisines while in Malaysia (don't worry if you miss Chinese Malaysian food - Chinese food can be found everywhere else in the world like China, HK, Taiwan and every Chinatown in the US even). Malay food is hard to find outside of the Malay peninsula world. Enjoy while you can 😘
Actually,no lol Malaysian Chinese food is not the same as anywhere else in other countries including China, HK, Taiwan. There is a reason why people from those places come to Malaysia - just to eat the Malaysian Chinese cuisine lol (where else can u get authentic Bak Kut Teh (dry and soupy), Hokkien Fried Noodle, Mee Kolo, Asam Laksa etc) if you are not from Malaysia, I suggest you try it, you will love it! (or maybe not). I recall a few channels including 1 who is originally from HK enamored by the Malaysian Chinese dishes here (apart from our delicious Malay and local Indian food :) )
Hi Chris. In Cape Town,South Africa we have the corn in a cup and the Foldover in our McDonalds. Foldover has been on the menu for as long as i can remember, however, the corn was recently introduced, because corn in a cup or corn on the cob are REAL things here in Cape Town.
Lemak, directly translated is fat in English. However in culinary context it refers to the taste of coconut milk creaminess. Many, even Malaysians fail to understand this. Fatty rice sounds so unhealthy which is not the case.
Yeah, creaminess is the right term for "lemak" here... Kuih kurang rasa lemak doesn't mean no / less fat in that kuih... ;) Lemak manis is may be weird if translated to fatty & sweet ;)
13:17 dude, u can actually turn that meal box of nasi lemak into a plate just by open up the every corner sides of the box, so u can eat comfortably and easier to access to stuff inside. 😊 Sincerely, nasi lemak mcD forever fan.
You missed the Prosperity Burger from McDonald's. It's a Chinese New Year festive season menu. Superb. Also, please make a review about the Texan style BBQ at Beard's Brothers BBQ. And the street styled Taco at Setia Alam (Not sure if they will move to Ramadan Bazaar because Ramadan is coming).
Thank you chris for great specific details that couldnt other youtuber described. Moreover i surprised McDonald's in Sunway lagon mall is cheaper than McDonald's in Kuala Lumpur. Go ahead
Menu Rahmah is for those who cant really afford "expensive food" so most of them are under RM5. not just at mcdonald but at most of local restaurant have Menu Rahmah.
Thank you Chris for sharing the video. Yes I like Malaysian McDonald too. They have lots of food varieties that you can’t find in other countries. For instance you won’t find the rice porridge here in my country. Just the normal McDonald but sometimes they come out with different kind of burgers on the menu. We also have the corn with butter too. Anyway I hope your throat feel better soon. You know what, I think you should stay away for 2-3days from spicy, deep fry or cold drinks. What I know is it could make your voice/throat worse. The rice congee you have is the way to go if it’s not spicy. Go to the pharmacy and get some medicine if possible. Anyway wish you well and enjoy yourself in KL. Stay safe and take care. Btw we miss Gladys, hope she could be there with you.😊
lemak has 2 meanings i.e. 1) fat & 2)creamy taste. in this context 'nasi lemak' is creamy rice because of creamy taste that comes from coconut milk. if people tell you it's fatty rice it just sounds like rice for fat people.....🙂
Perhaps on your next visit to Malaysia am volunteering myself to accompanying you visiting Malaysia, Lemak means Fat that come from the Coconut Milk extraction, not forgotten I'll teach you how to eat using your right hand... cheers brother... love to see you back in Malaysia...❤❤❤
If you are still in Malaysia during the month of Ramadan, Malay and Indian Muslim food shops will be closed during the day and only open in the afternoon for Muslims to break their fast. However, Chinese restaurants and food courts in the Mall are still open. The special feature is during the month of Ramadan, there will be many Bazar Ramadan like Night Market open in the afternoon where you will find a variety of traditional Malay dishes for sale. It will be crowded with people because many Muslims will be looking for food to break the fast. And even more entertaining, non-Muslims also took the opportunity to get Malay traditional sweets that are rarely sold on normal days. Popular Ramadan bazaars in Kuala Lumpur are at Jalan Raja Alang, Kampung Baru, Masjid India Jalan Tungku Abdul Rahman. And more food stall at Stadium Shah Alam, Selangor State about 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. In addition to Nasi lemak, ayam percik, ayam golek, you can also get popular east coast food such as Nasi Dagang and Nasi Kerabu and much more that you hard to find in normal days.
The secret of food tasted better when eating using hands is your brain playing with your mind by activating certain chemical based on our senses. Our senses are crucial for us to experience life to the fullest, for example the smell of flowers in substance like fragrance oil. They smell good but it smells better in a sense of more refreshing than fragrant oil if you smell it directly from the flower itself... its nothing wrong about the oil but with actual flower, your brain activated one more sense which is a sense of sight, your sense of smell is now upgraded with another sense, that makes it even more settled. Same with food, your sense of sight (by seeing the food), sense of smell (yes the smell of the food), sense of taste (you get from your tongue) are now upgraded with one more sense which is a sense of touch... so 3 senses now became 4 and that is why your brain is more focused on the subject which makes the whole experience more complete, thus the food tastes better.
Menu Rahmah is more likely a budget food for the unfortunate people like b40/types of person who only got small amount of income.. and no, it’s not really a breakfast menu.. hone you are doing good in Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❤

Hey Chris, you should go to Putrajaya located only 18-20km from KL. It is a government administrative city like Washington DC. It was opened in 1999. It has many tourists spots but kind of boring at night. You should go to bazar Ramadan there at Precint 3
Eat yogurt and drink pineapple 🍍 juice, or eat the pineapple, it's good for sore throat, there's bromelin in it. Drink honey lemon to sooth the throat too.

Hehe yes, the bubur/porridge is also known as congee, basically rice watered down... good to eat when you're sick 😁 also, love your adventures here.. the other thing about Malaysians is we are biggg on ketchup and chilli sauce, most would put it all over everything! the burger and dip the chicken and fries into it. Fun vid Chris! Enjoyyyyyyy
Jamaica used to have a McDonald's, but they closed down I think either early 2000s or late 1990s because they wanted to import their beef burgers instead of using our local beef burgers
I love watching your videos chris. Just want to share you one of our Malaysian culture espeacially malay culture, we don't use our left hand much while eating. We don't eat our food using left hand but right hand only. If you find some locals and having eating together then you may ask them why.. it could be your fun fact to know.😄
Hey Chris, you should try Restoran Kudu Abdul for best nasi kandar in KL (mixed rice with many types of protein). Kampung bharu area also works best to find local authentic cuisine. Can always hit me up for more best spots 🤙
Since we have grab food services, we seldom dine in now except drive-thru’ if we are on the street. Eating at home with our cats surrounding the dishes, giving them some bites anyway.
hi handsome Chris....hope u ve enjoyed those street food in KL....i would suggest , you should go the east coast states..like Klantan..Terengganu....the beaches....so fantastique...and the street food so delicious........nice dimple..
After having an Indonesian GF and eating some amazing food with my hand, I can tell you the following about eating with your hands.. In Indonesia, the left hand is traditionally perceived as the hand used to clean oneself after going to the toilet. When shaking hands, offering a gift, giving or receiving something, eating, pointing or touching someone, among other things, it is considered proper etiquette to only use the right hand.
I hope you are still in KL when Muslim start fasting for Ramadhan. It is the most gastronomical month for us. Do make sure that you do Bazaar Ramadhan in Kg Baru for all the rare food that you can find only during Ramadhan. People go crazy for food as they fasted all day & become greedy for food by late evening😮. Do go before the breaking of Fast during sun set. The best time would be around 5 - 6.30pm. You can go crazy & the vibes is to die for.
I ❤️ U Chris 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰, Glad to see ur back, don't forget IF u have time do that transportation video would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT like which lines go where and how long from the towers to anywhere 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also, you're drinking ice 🫢🫢😳😳😳😳That's a NO NO, 🤣🤣🤣 seriously ice can make one sick from certain countries, but if it doesn't affect you, then Great❣️
No never saw corn at McDonald's. I'm glad you didn't pour that sauce in your porridge. The food all looked great. How was the prices. Was your dish cheaper in the food market the other day or in McDonald's?
Those foods look delicious Chris!!! Malaysia McDonald's definitely has some tasty foods!

Chris you gotta try Nasi Padang with samba belacan before you leave.😉 - watching from Gold Coast australia 🇦🇺 btw!🫡
Thanks a lot for the support!
Porridge is bubur, not berber. The one that I find most interesting and I would like to try is Beef Foldover. Get well soon. Do come to Kelantan

When I was in Malaysia I got this BBQ salt shaker stuff for the chips but the fried chicken was to die for. Better than KFC!
No never saw corn at McDonald's. I'm glad you didn't pour that sauce in your porridge. The food all looked great. How was the prices. Was your dish cheaper in the food market the other day or in McDonald's?
