    I love the Metzeler Cruisetech tires. I am running the same tires. They grip the road really great. You really customized that bike. I love it. I ride a lot at night and will be upgrading from the Leather pros to hard bags to mount more led lights. Mostly likely will be going with Custom Dynamics. The clutch patch is awesome. I also have the Green Brothers linkages.

      Absolutely love them. And around 3-4k before it’s time to start thinking about replacing them. But I ride fairly aggressively. Hole shots, hard braking etc.

    The bike is looking amazing bro. What’s your height again? Can’t wait to see how the other windshield heights work for you. Im 5’7” and I have an 11” & 15”. I still experience some buffeting and that’s what made me curious if the FXRT would’ve been better.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      I’m 5 08 man. And thanks! The fxrt was terrible for buffetting and I tried 5 different windshield setups man. It was a nightmare especially for how expensive it was and how non adjustable it is

    Hello, I'm looking to get some risers for my FXLRS 2020, I was looking at the Biltwell Murdocs the 10inch risers. Can I ask, why you swapped them to these Krause risers? Do you think they Krause are better? Which would you suggest? Enjoy your content greatly, watching from the UK.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      Thanks man. And the kraus with trex plate had much more of a pullback which is what I wanted more of. The biltwell is great quality but the kraus with internal bushings is even better. More solid feeling and great feedback

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      If you don’t care about a ton of pullback and you don’t want to spend a lot of money go biltwell. If you can afford it, go kraus

      They pay for a tiny amount but not even close to everything I’ve done lol. It just eases the pain a tad lol. Favorite mod……..I guess the powder coating if you could call that a mod. Makes it one off. Otherwise I think the chain kit

    Do you feel a difference with the Galfer rotors and the stock calipers?

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому +1

      Yeah big difference. You can feel it biting in more and requiring less force to stop quickly

    • @STAYHUMBLE302
      @STAYHUMBLE302 Місяць тому

      You can change your rotors and pads but if you don’t change your master from stock it makes very little difference just fyi that’s a know fact check krusie he will drop some knowledge on that topic for you

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Місяць тому

      I’ve watched kruesi. Yes that is another upgrade. But it’s not needed. Changing the pads and rotors is a big difference even with stock masters cylinder and calipers. Have you actually tried this out in person or are you just basing it off of what you heard on videos.

  • @jstockwell73
    @jstockwell73 Рік тому

    The fairing looks like it is leaning back too much. It may be difficult to adjust with the Baja lamp on there. I have a stock light connected via the headlight extension, but an aftermarket light in a bucket has a similar setup. This allows the light to be adjusted vertically up and down and pivot changing the pitch.
    Take the fairing off and loosen the light so you can adjust the vertical height and the pitch. Leave it tight enough so it isn’t flopping around.
    On the Memphis Shades upper fork clamps there is an Alan bolt in the center of the round mount - loosen it and push it all the way forward in its slot on the upper fork clamp. By forward I mean towards the front of the bike. Retighten. On the Memphis shades lower fork clamps, loosen the Alan bolt on the round mount and push it rearward in the slot all the way and retighten. The upper mounts should be forward and lower mounts rearward.
    Now put the fairing back on and adjust the headlight so it is recentered. This will be a pain and trial and error as you may have to take the fairing on and off to access the bolts. My headlight is lightly recessed, with the upper portion of the headlight aperture in the fairing overhanging the light. The windshield is more up and down vertically, and kicks the wind more over my head.
    I’m not sure how well these instructions will work with the Baja mount.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      I appreciate your help but you’re talking to me like this is the first modification I’ve done to any bike lol. I’m aware of all that you’ve explained and I’ve tried that exact setup. I’ve tried all the way forward, all the way back, and angled up and down. Everything works fine with the lp6 it’s just more annoying to move it than a traditional light. I still get buffetting. I’ve tried a 7 inch, 11 inch and 13 inch windshields and even taped up the vents to see if that made a difference

    • @jstockwell73
      @jstockwell73 Рік тому

      @@RidinDad That buffeting issue is certainly frustrating. Please don't take my comment as insulting your intelligence -- I put step by step what I did because I know others read these comments and use this fairing too. I'm curious about what factors are different that are causing buffeting to be worse for one person versus another.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      I gotchya man and yeah I don’t know. It’s odd. I’ve had buffetting with anything I’ve ever tried with a windshield lol. Maybe I’m just more sensitive to it than others. Maybe my torso height is not proportional. Idk man. I’m trying to figure it out!

      @@RidinDad The vent didn’t help me and was making a whistling sound, I tried few sizes too but didn’t help. My Harley tech suggested it and did it to mine when he was working on my bike. He said he did to his friends and the buffeting stopped. I haven’t tried mine yet as winter hear in Calgary Canada, but it makes sense, and someone else told me the same thing they have done and it worked. I can send you a pic of how it looks.

      @@RidinDad 🤞🏼 yea i use a 13 non vented. And i either use my shoei gt air 2 helment or simpson mod if that helps. Im starting to wonder if maybe cause u lifted the front that it changed the angle how the fairing sits and that might be causing it. Where its not tilting more forward. Your not the first person i heard couldnt get their fairing to not buffer and their bike is also lifted in front. I only have 13” legend mono and stock front. Also im 5’7 if that helps.
