That is huge! That piano rules not to mention the bass and vocals! Thank You As Alaays!
And the video of the chase is just another way of getting viewers. Not about anything other than getting more viewers. The media cares zero about the people involved.
I agree and I'm very discouraged about our future.
Hi Lee. I sure enjoyed the Toto tunes but I just had to tell you that I too feel the disbelief of all the violence that is occurring in our country these days. None of it makes any sense. I think back to the late 50's and early 60's, I guess back during my younger times, and everything just seemed so much better. Maybe it was troubling to our parents then because things weren't perfect then either. But they sure better than how it is now!!!!! On a brighter note I hope you have a great tour with Lyle. I look forward to your videos of the places you're playing. Take care my friend!!!
That's the main reason I don't watch the first 15 minutes of the news
Good news about Kootch!!!
Before Covid I went to the movies and some idiot teenagers were sitting in the back. They waited until the lights went off then pulled out some balloons and started popping them. The entire audience hit the ground and stayed there until we heard the teenagers laughing. They were removed by management but that did it for me, I haven't returned to a theater since then. The entire country has PTSD from this shit.
Actually Ive not been to a theater in a long time in fear of being shot
I know this is in bad taste but I hope enough time has passed. But see what John Wilkes Booth started?
@@randyschiffer3265 I blame it all on John W 😀
I remember being nervous in that stadium style movie theater seating when they first changed up our theaters, several years before the Aurora shooting happened. Always, before they ever had that seating, and it was just sloped floor, I wanted to be at the back with the wall behind me close enough to the edge to exit quickly if stuff started to get bad. I used to love going to the movies both by myself, to matinees and also with friends. I was extremely nervous by myself in my first encounter of the stadium theater, late one night when the club that I was going to was closed, suddenly after years of being there, and having open mic night. I had arranged evening public transit home but it wasn't going to show for three more hours. The outside wait area, used to have lots of people standing around or sitting on planters waiting on rides, but with the club closed was like a ghost town. The only thing else open was the mall, movie complex. I hadn't been to the movies in a few years at that point, and there were two choices, some scary M Night Shamalan not sure if I'm spelling it right, or maybe the second one of the Shrek movies. I took the Shrek movie, hoping maybe it would be at least a little entertaining in non visual ways, and it was. It was just so spooky discovering that I was going to have to climb to find a seat, and hearing no chatter of any other person in there, totally empty sounding and realizing I would have to climb back down to leave, which would be a little trickier. It was just eerie quiet, and maybe one employee and twelve theaters. I did feel like a major target, without the back of the seats in front of me for cover and to sort of use as a supportive guideline out of the row, to just open stairs. My caning skills were really good, but I was only five or six years in. ...and I was going to have to wrestle the sixty pound backpack back on, before I could climb back down, unless there was just no time for that... Basically plotted escape before and during parts of the movie. Wanted to avoid the tunnel exit of the whole building. That movie probably would have been extra funny with audio description but I was glad there wasn't so that I could hear what was happening if anyone else came in. I hoped a family would come in or something. I think that seating change made the movies lose more of their base customers, years before the major incident. Plus it cost them a ton to implement that seating. Then everyone was broker than broke again.
@@lastnamefirst4035Yep, always listening out, everywhere. Walmart, the hospital, funerals.
Awesome! Did Joseph ever get any inquiries from Chicago? Throw in some horns and I hear Chicago here.
One thing I've seen in my lifetime as a musician is interpeace and happiness I've seen in most all musicians I've known and played with. We need more people to take up an instrument instead of a weapon!!
So sad what this world has come to!!
For sure, 😊
More open studios for people to play and record music and less chasing senseless illusions. ☀
Joseph Williams is my favorite TOTO singer. So thank you so much for this video! 🤗
Hi Hans Christian, 😊
@@splashesin8 Hello Audrey! Best regards from my (delayed) train to work! 🤓
No way. Bobby is the Toto sound
@@carloslukather6658 The Seventh One album really popped in Europe. They heard more JW sung songs on the radio there than we did in the US.
Not really ToTo anymore. The only original member on tour is Lukather.
The first two Toto records are SOO good! Luke is bad ass though!
Hello lee and everyone.
This is the classic TOTO sound. Must love it. 🧨🎸❤️
And about those horrendous things that are happening in America. When I read it I always shake my head and say to myself why does it have to be like this? Why????
I try to NOT read the newspaper daily cause it only brings me down.
That why I thank the music gods that I have you lee. With your wonderful music. It is always a pleasure. Thank you for bringing a ray of sunshine in my life.
Have a great and relaxing day. 🫶🏻
Hi to all out there ✋
I can't imagine playing an instrument, for so many years, with so many talented artists.
If you ever , ever need someone than can play a mean tennis racquet, you call me! ..years of experience, all genres!!..✌️💯🤣
Hello Leland, I'm back from a covid illness, a move, a breakup... the music stayed with me and helped me.
Feel better, 🙏 please
Joseph sounds better than ever, and your parts on that song were fantastic. Have a great tour this summer.
almost forgot -Le I hold you in my heart -u matter & yes it is important what you do & for that I thank you
There's something so unique about the sound of Joseph's layered vocals. From "Pamela" to "Stop Loving You" to "Bottom of Your Soul" to this new tune, it's so recognizable and awesome. I wish I could get his sound when I record vocals!
What ? You are not taking any of your beard t-shirts on the Lyle tour ? I think your fans would love a chance to own one.
😇😇. Very glad to hear Mr. Kortchmar is testing negative!
"Mass shooting at Mushroom Farms at Half Moon Bay" what? Never would imagine a single shot there. Pretty wild and sad. And another in Monterey Park
It does make me stop and take a look around and do an inventory of how much madness is apparent. I recently talked to a father of an eleven year old daughter who has nightmares about being shot in school.
@@artemisXsidecross that's so sad. Kids shouldn't be scared of being killed at school or parents afraid to send them
@@lastnamefirst4035
It was the daughter who first had nightmares and then the family saw a reality of an eleven year old. Which one was more aware of the gestalt reality.
Children can at times see more clearly than adults.
@@artemisXsidecrossMy grandma was the only adult who would take me seriously when I told her about the nightmare situation of day to day trying not to be killed at junior high, or on the bus. Thankfully things were a little better in high school.
@@splashesin8
I had to be dragged to school and it took three years to reach the second grade; there after I used the art of a thespian to hide and seek. I have not a clue how I would do today, if I had to start from the beginning.
Great tune ,,, Great fills by Simon Phillips ..Wow ...
😎👍❤🖖
Love Brother
Love the Book! On my Coffee Table!
Hello. Don’t give up! Do not despair! If we do, we lose, they win… We are better than that. Thank you for the videos…
Joe's really cool him and Luke really bonded with Toto
The world is completely insane right now. Everyday something terrible happens. Lately there's been a lot of direct shootings in my country, or some wild riots disguised as "protests", not to mention the political insanity that's always happening.
But then, there are some great songs that still makes us believe in the beauty of life, and this is one of my personal latest favorite songs that actually spread that message.
I absolutely LOVE Denizen Tenant, it's an unbelievable album, Joe Williams at his finest, and boy is it saying much. I so love both Simon's drums and your bass on this one. Thank you for making the day a little bit brighter Lee!!!
This brings back great memories brother. Big Toto listener
Howdy!
😎 Joseph Williams, love it! Gear shipped off for the Lyle tour huh, it’ll be busy time again. Dare we hope you can get some rest on your tour? Hoping the sad news is nearing an end, it’s very depressing 🌻🦋✌️
Hiya Gina, 😊
Joseph Williams is a great singer and today’s track sounds very Totoesque.
Glad to hear DK is feeling better.
USA has a love/hate relationship with guns and it’s negative consequences are growing in frequency!
Also great drums! 🥁
I haven't even gotten to the music yet. What drives people to do these things... I was thinking about that earlier today. As terrible as it may saound to some, I can kind of sort of possibly maybe understand why someone would want to harm another person who was terrible to them (even though it's an act which, to me, would be as foreign as flying to Pluto), but to do it to complete and utter innocents is well beyond anything I'll ever be able to comprehend.
Believe Konrad Lorenz speaks to this in his 'On Aggression'. . ." all other members of the Animal Kingdom only kill for survival of the species. . ." and the "placing of a weapon as a means to the end diminishes the emotional impact of the aggression. . ."
@@kateconway-hickman5945 different points, but also true. The accesibility of guns provide an easy outlet. Of course.
Hi Leland!
😺😺. Great sound on that track!!!
The American weapon lobby - an absolute no-go! Politicians are not able to cool them down! Horrible! Almost everyone is allowed to own a gun!
I saw you being part of TOTO in Innsbruck with Bobby Kimball, a great singer. Nevertheless My favorite one is Joseph Williams appearing first on „The Seventh One“ (I think, but am not sure, please correct me), for me one of the best TOTO albums. And I hoped for years that Joseph would sing with Toto once again which came true! 👍🏻👏🏻
I saw you with ToTo on tour in Chicago at the House of Blues… Nothing planned, just walked in and got blown away. That concert was just splendid! Great atmosphere… great music!
This might sound weird but the tune sounds like it could be a Guided By Voices track.
Joseph Williams is my favorite guy at the mic for Toto...
Uv me some Kimball tho. Miss him
Harmony's stellar....
Love Joseph and Toto! Will be
seeing them on the tour in 4 weeks.
Yes our society is broken..but all we can do is have hope 🙏 at this point in time. Love today's tunes.Lukather is one talented guitarist..I have been listening to some of his interviews and he is one funny fellow allthe stories, jokes..thank you for today's post greatly appreciated Leland Sklar..stay safe be safe...!!!!
We can cultivate agrarian-based ways and work towards "returning to the garden" as Joni Mitchell would say. . . ✨️
@@kateconway-hickman5945Reminds me of my brother in a lot of ways. 😊
Let Lee Loose is a good decision Fun track, LOTS goin' on,

Thanks for the track today! Be safe!
That track is unreal.
Fergie Frederiksen was another great singer but no longer with us... Joseph is better now than ever. Powerful voice.😃
Amazing tune, and great bass playing 🎵🙌🧡
Yes, "there are so many weapons in this Country. . ." Reportedly there are more guns than people in our Country. . . :( 😞 I am glad to hear that Kootch is feeling better, Thank Goodness. Glad to hear that all is prepping for your Lyle Acoustic Tour, and that you will have your Books 📚 with you. . .'Everybody Loves Me'. ❤️. Tres 😎 Cool. Great track from Toto today, 😊 Thank you!
Great tune....what a melodic groove 🎶
Love Joseph Williams' vocals! My other favorite solo album of his is 2008's This Fall. Thanks for sharing your memories of playing on this track, Lee. Great stuff
Hi Lee keep the videos coming !
Did you meet John Williams through Joseph, or have you worked with him before? Also, given John's ears, does Joseph have perfect pitch too?
Have never met John and not sure about the perfect pitch. 5:49

You can’t legislate away evil.
Hearts gotta change...♥
Everything is a weapon. It's not the tool used that committed the crime. You cannot legislate morals.
I appreciate you, thank you for making content.
Fantastic track.!!! Love it, and Yeah I'll go along with your way too.
Hi Lee! Glad to hear Kootch is on the mend. Double glad that you get to hit the road for a bit (stay safe, hydrated and healthy). 😄

Too bad Bobby Kimball is not in the band anymore. I still have hopes that he will return again one day.
Very unlikely. Bobby suffers from dementia.
@@cris9000 I was unaware. That is sad news. He was a great singer and had a great voice.
@@1AR183 A documentary about Bobby is in the works, which I am very excited about.
@@cris9000 That would be interesting.
Love the mindful listening. What a unique track. Love the transitions
Rocket Cargo, sounds like something I might need to look into sometime. 😊 Good to hear Danny is getting better feeling. Enjoyed these Toto songs. Hoping to get a lot of stuff done today. Trying to make myself bundle up and get with it. 💖💕🐶🐶
Very sorry about news shoots it alsolutely crazy again thank you vlogs 🙏 God bless 🙌
I always remember Phil Collins introducing Lee as a young, youngish guy at his Berlin concert. Love the video of in the air tonite in Paris, where Lee awaits to begin playing with his eyes closed, as in meditation. Lee is iconic👍😀
In my book, Joseph Williams is one of the top three male vocalists in the world. I would rank him one notch below Peter Cetera (#1). So happy you shared your experience of playing on Joseph's latest album.
i am sorry but he is better than Peter Cetera and i am fan of them both
I believe that we have all been through a very ruff 3 years and some people can’t handle it anymore, put anger issues, mental issues and more guns than people in the U.S. combine it with Leadership issues ( mostly a former leader) ripping our great nation apart. It’s to bad that people can’t all just put on their favorite album or go see a play , watch a great movie and escape for a while. Oh I forgot go see a live concert with Mr Sklar on bass. Thank you for your understanding and positive energy, take care and be safe on tour. 🙏
How's your great leader doing now? Wasn't he the answer?
Hey there, Lee and everyone! Lee, your initial comments underscore the fact that as a society we have lost our collective minds. Insanity, indeed! Nothing about living like this is normal. I trust that we will eventually navigate our way to a more civilized society that is not punctuated with stochastic terrorism.
Hi Winston, 😊
@@splashesin8 Hi, Audrey!
Great Song🎶🎶
That's a beautiful track!
joseph is still singing SO well - latest edition of Toto is pure fire !
I wish I knew the answers to the entire world's ills presently ,Mr Sklar ! I still say overall ,there is more pluses than negatives . Here's something I do know though ,that watching and listening to your daily YT channel is an enormous help as far as a feel good factor is concerned . I'm absolutely certain that if the world had more Leland Sklar's with your kind heart today , the future would be a more optimistic proposition... Greetings from Scotland ...
So sad...and kids have access to guns. It's all broken like you said. So many weapons. So many arguments. Can't watch news. Thanks for your words, Lee. / Eddy
Your a good soul Leland . Have a great tour , enjoy the gift of been the amazing musician you are . Ps I know what you mean regarding shootings and mindless violence. I’m in Australia and we are having a shocker regarding our indigenous peoples. It’s 2023 and they still don’t have a voice in the constitution . Anyways Trump far out it’s like we are on a ferris wheel around and round we go where we stopped. Nobody knows. Awesome Tune By the way . ✌️. Enjoy the tour Mate have a Blast 💥.
YES - This is the song I've been waiting for. I love it!
For those who are interested, I have made an accurate (I think) transcription of Lee's bass part. You can find it here.

Leland, did you play bass on J Taylor & JD Souther’s “Her Town Too?” It sure looks like you on the vid: ua-cam.com/video/I9zEHFynDsE/v-deo.html
I remember seeing you with Toto in Tampere in 2007. Crazy rain not that much before your gig, luckily it stopped in time and didn't ruin the show!
Actually…if you are a Believer, prayers DO help the ones left behind…just sayin’
Terrible tragic event.
What a great song thank you for the story
You Sklared it! Awesome.
Wisconsin: three young teens (under 15) stole a car, robbed a place, in a car chase and killed the father of a ten yo boy... What was missing from their lives?
In my city here in Australia ,we have a few car chases a week.
Last week it was a 14 year old ,with a 10 ,12 ,year olds in the car.
14 year old bailed ,10 and 12 year old " cautioned"
While ever there is no consequences, this stuff continues.

Yeah, you´re right, Lee. Stay safe on your travels! Godspeed!
Nice song! Joseph Williams my favorite Toto vocalist
Fabulous song!
I agree, we have lost the battle with mass shootings, mental health, guns ... something should have been done 50 years ago. With the hate and division all through the country and Congress, sorry to say ... but it's a lost cause.
It's anger, never mind banning guns, what about the fundamentals that are causing this violence?
