@@OfficialBasRuttenmaybe you should do a little community post letting us know when youve featured on a podcast like brendan and bryans??? I was 5 days late to that party and only learned of it from a youtube short which made me go find the full video. Just a thought/suggestion 👍🏻

If I acknowledged my "micro injuries" I'd be watching "All My Children" while simultaneously recording "As the World Turns".

So many guys in the gym that workout but never do any martial arts and are too shy to hit the heavy bag.

10:20 facts im always comforted knowing bas only trained 45 minutes a day for most of his career, sure im only hitting probably 70-80% intensity of what bas was doing (try his 7 rounds of 3 minutes tape to see how he trains) but ive always said consistency beats intensity (assuming you stay consistent AND get proper rest)

Bas i need your advice on lower/upper body training, so my current philosophy is to be very minimal on weight training my legs and treat them purely endurance based and only work them out from kicking/punching/jumprope type activities maybe body weight squats at the most rarely doing any machines as i was thinking i wouldnt be able to train as many days a week if i had to rest my legs from heavy lifting for long, is this flawed logic? Would the recovery time eventually get better?
I dont know what to do cause my upper body can handle weight training then be recovered within a day and be ready to punch again in no time but my legs will feel weaker for a good 2 or 3 days sometimes in terms of having punching power and a nice bounce to my step. Maybe its just mental though cause i can still bounce the same but i just have more of an urge to be lazy and flat footed if im not feeling fresh and recovered
(Which is why youve always advised fighters never to lift weights a week or two before their fight so that they are fully recovered and have all their strength back)
So do i need to start also training my legs as to not have an imbalanced body, and just man up and summon more willpower to move as if i was fully fresh, or was i right to mainly treat my legs like a jogger 💀😂 they arent disporportionately skinny or nothing tho but they could eventually be if my upper body dont chill

17:42 this totally works for me on the cable machine punches bas showed us a few videos back, in proper guard i end up chearing and using more shoulder and torso rotation but if i instead use the free hand to touch the side of my abs im punching on then i can feel it activating my core much more but like bas said i also do little things out of placebo just cause it makes me feel better regardless of if it works 😂

13:57 i use this machine but instead of squatting all the way down ill just bend my knees placing one leg slightly higher or lower as if im in my stance, and ill try and mainly use my heels and calfs to hop up like im bouncing in a stance. Go easy on the weight starting out tho for instance if you weight 170 Lbs start with just 70lbs
And once i burn out from that i switch to actual squats and try and get just a few in. Havent been at it long enough to speak for its results tho but just thought it was interesting this guy does a non fighting based version of it.

Sucks to hear about the micro injuries still bothering you. Once in a blue moon ill step too hard into my jab and i can still feel pain in my pinky toe from when i broke it drunk the night leon KO'd usman 😂 it hasnt happened in awhile but ive been focusing the balm area closer to my big toe which has actually improved my balance and power transfer too.
