You come up with the most wonderful things to freeze dry! I sure appreciate your experiments! Can't wait for your pie. Two of my favorite things!!

You are a really good cook for a man. My father did all the cooking during the week as my Mom worked also, he got home 2 hours before her. I miss his great cooking. Although I’m a really good cook, I love to cook, and can’t wait to get my medium freeze drier. I’m going to keep it going 24/7 til I catch up.

Just put our leftover sweet potatoes on the HarvestRight tray to freeze as well and will place them in the freeze dryer tomorrow. I left them as is as they were already in small square like sections. Since they were initially in the refrigerator from Thanksgiving, the butter had already congealed in the original dish and I separated them from the butter at that time. Not sure this is going to work, but willing to give it a try. On another note, my wife is an avid canner as well. I have been going through her canning shelf i.e. canned stew, chicken broth, etc. and finding canned goods that are at least three years old. Since canned goods supposedly last 3-5 years, I figured that I could now freeze dry them and make them last another 25 years since I can't eat all of the canned goods before they might expire. Cheers

I must say that these were good. I was not too impressed with the butter flavoring though. With time it tasted chemically. I might buy some Mccormick butter flavoring and try that next time

John In Bibs Funny you mention that, I was going to suggest you try the McCormicks over the one that you did use. I think you’ll be a lot happier. It might have the same affect but then again I think it is worth trying. McCormick is a wonderful product. I was going to say something but then I decided I better not. I didn’t want to intrude on that which is your inspirational cooking methods. Ha ha

What would be the chance that you could do a video on all the sizes of bags you use. And where you order them. I am attempting to make my MRE meals like you do but not sure of all the size bags you use for your entrée , sides, desserts, and condiments (spreads and cheeses) etc. then getting them to fit in a gallon bag. You make it look so easy. 👏👏😁

They are light and airy now. All the calories are lost through the freezing process, right?

I add chopped cashews to my regular candies yams but I assume I would not be able to add the cashews if I am freeze drying it
