- These came out beautifully. Not bad for a first timer using my @aievehome Snack Coater. It's a bit long winded but I wanted to show you the full process.

It’s nice to finally see you John! You encouraged me to get a freeze dryer and now I want one of those things 😊. Thanks for video!
Good to finally see your face John! Great job! Those look beautiful!
That was quite a process, but the almonds came out looking beautiful. Nice to see you!
Most creative and informative Freeze Drying channel on UA-cam bar none, and this one doesn't even have a Freeze Dryer in it!
Thanks, watch this space as the only reason I got it was to incorporate it into my freeze drying, I just want to learn how to use it very well first.
@@JohnInBibs I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with using this and your penchant for fancy treats!
holy cow he showed his face!! ooo so handsome lol greatbchannel john, i appreciate the work you do
I tried so hard not to. But in order to see the drum in action it was unavoidable, LOL
Good afternoon Can you tell me what you used to make the dragees shine please?
and what proportions are needed for 1 kg of nut? Powder and water ?
That needs some kind of agitator to keep the product moving while the bowl turns
I love the fact that you did a video in this John!!!
I have the same panner and I use it for my Chamoy and sour skittles.
You are such a great ambassador for our FD’ing community and we appreciate you and your videos sooo much!!! 😃
Wheeee! John, can we figure how to do hard candy shells like jordan almonds? they are my fav!
It is on the cards. I have been researching how to do it and feel I am close. Before I try it though I want to get better at the chocolate coating.
I've seen this gadget on line and thought ....ohhh so fun...I wanna try it....I watched your unboxing and was so glad to see you give it a GO!! Thanks for sharing your first run!! Looks like it worked pretty well!! 😃
Could I use gum arabic to shine fondant sprinkles to?
If I hadn’t seen it in the thumbnail I would’ve thought “no way does this work!” I know I called it a cement mixer yesterday but after hearing the word tumble, I realized the machine I saw years ago was a rock polisher. That’s what this is! It’s a candy polisher (with help from the powder squirted in later.
It ended up looking real nice! I’m impressed!
And in the back of my mind I hoped I had a little influence on what almost everyone else is talking about in their comments. See? Don’t have to look at the camera, just like in your freeze dryer unboxing video. Good job 👍
Nice! Good to see your face John!!
You need to do the cinnamon, sugar, pecans or walnuts I think you’ll be less work
Thanks John, you really take the time to show us your processes, always very interesting! I can tell you're having fun with your new "toy!" wink, wink! YUM!!!!
It’s five pots oil. I’m sorry in one part of your aerobic powder.
I wonder if a turkey baster would help putting the chocolate in the Snack Coater a bit easier.
You’re becoming a bad influence. Lol
Chocolate covered freeze dried blueberries ❤ do it 😂
I ordered it today. It will be here tomorrow .
Great!
I wonder if you could do popcorn or pretzels?
Look at all these new toys! You must be having lots of fun.
I recently received your cookbooks. After purchasing so many other cookbooks, my search is finally over. Your cookbooks are perfect. Love your videos also. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🙂
Thanks, John. I'm glad you did the video because, to be honest, for me, that's far too much work. So I'm glad I watched this before I bought one. You saved me time and money.
Hind sight is 20/20 After doing several items I have to agree, quicker to just dip them in my opinion
ooooo yes please. Love chocolate covered raisins.
Hello! After applying the shine coating (same as yours) the almonds were all stuck and not shiny. I twisted it for 10+10 minutes and the proportions were 2 tablespoons of powder + 2 tablespoons of water. What do you recommend doing?
They do get sticky at first. You have to keep it tumbling and knock them loose the will eventually stop sticking. Also be very skimpy on the amount you use. Really you could get away with about a quarter top or even less. It doesn't take a lot
👍👍👍👍👍
I wonder if you put a little chocolate in before the nuts that would have grabbed ahold immediately. I'm just thinking that. You read directions on the unit. I have not.
Actually i think it would do just the opposite, I think the nuts would stick worse. But you never know until you try!
I’m curious if the honey and salt coating on the almonds interfered with the chocolate adhesion in the beginning. I was worrying that it was seizing up the chocolate at first. More coats overcame that, I think (if it indeed was a problem) so now I wonder if doing plain roasted almonds would be even easier. Interested to see. Thanks for all your work you do for us. Love it!
I don't think so, I researched and you can actually add salt to melted chocolate
I bet you could put a little powdered sugar in at the end to make them less likely to melt in your hands quickly. Plus, more sugar is a good thing, right? hahah
Absolutely!
Very interesting
Looks like a looong process john!!!....but very tasty!! 😋 Thanks for the video!!!
You have to apply it with a squeeze bottle when you turn in the Tumblr the way that you do it
For polishing my raisins I didn't you might want to check that video out as I also come up with a good ratio
Thank you, Mr John, for sharing your new toy with us. What will they come up with next? Love your videos! Be blessed.
Want to give you a recipe I found on UA-cam one part canola oil, one part of the aerobic stuff you buy you heat it up and you pour it on the nuts. It makes it shiny that’s from a professional cake decorator or something that was on UA-cam I don’t know. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m gonna but I’m gonna try your way too.
Man, when you get that thing figured out you're gonna be dangerous! lolol ... Looks like I'm going to have to get one of these. I didn't even know there was such a thing for home use. Thanks for sharing.
You have patients that's for sure! They turned out looking great. Thanks for sharing!
In one fell swoop you have done something that nobody else has ever done - made me regret having the bigger kitchenaid mixer that does NOT have the tilt head 🙂
Great video John!! They turned out great as usual! That looked like alot of effort but very worth it!Thank you!
You did it now John, the wife has visions of doing raisins and cherries. A Blessed Easter to you.
I've been anxiously awaiting this one :)
You got me salivating like a dog begging for a big Mac. Great job!
Hey John. Nice to finally meet you.😂
How fun was that❣ I need a kitchen aid 🌻 Loved the video❣🌻
Awesome, that was fun to watch. Can't wait to see the raisins :)
Wow, they look great! (And so do you 😊)
Well that was pretty cool :)
Thank you for taking us along for the test run. I was a little skeptical at first, but they turned out great. You do have patience, not one of best qualities. Can’t wait to see your other ideas for this. Thanks again 😊. Thinking…..I wonder if you could do white chocolate and as the last add in use colored sprinkles or something like that. Guess it would depend on how dry the chocolate was 🤔🤔🤔
I think white chocolate and sprinkles would work very well!
You are an inspiration
I am not so sure this is worth the time and trouble. Several hours seems to be very time consuming. The entire process is way to long for the amount of time expended.
I did think of popped corn and caramel with peanuts.
