    Nice Vid Jon. I Love the sound of the chambered Gretsch LP Style Guitars, I’ve had a Pro Jet for some years now. Of course it’s the made in China as part of their Electromatic Series but it sounds Great! Your Friend is very lucky to be able to have this model Gretsch. Sounds Great and your playing as always is Superb!! Have a Great Day my Friend and please keep up the Good Work, I Love your Demos and Reviews! Thanks Jon!!

      Thank you Rick!! Yep I must say it's a great looking and sounding guitar although I must admit it's not the type of guitar that I would play.. But I love the experience of playing on a Gretsch with a bigsby✌️😆

    Good review. I have one of these with TVJones classic pickups. It stays in tune very well. Works great for rock and metal. Let’s remember that Malcolm Young played a gretsch with filtertrons. Many grunge bands have used these too.

    I have had the G6128T Duo Jet on my "wish list" for quite some time. After watching your video, it is now #1 on my "next up" list, though it might take a while. I own a G5620T that sounds superb and is well-crafted. I added a Vibramate Spoiler, which seems to keep it in tune after using the Bigsby. Thank you, Jonathan!

    Ciao Jonathan, very nice video. The combination of Bigsby with the roller bridge is fine. But you don't want to play a guitar with Bigsby and a tune-o-matic bridge. I have an SG that came with that combination and I had to swap the bridge with a roller one. Bad engineered, I would say. But this Gretsch sounds very beautiful. Thanks for your video!

    • @JonIsJustTooLoud

      Duly noted!!! Thanks for your tips Antonio!! Grazie Millie 🤓✌️

    • @montag4516
      @montag4516 5 років тому +2

      Yes. That bridge shown is the Gretsch space control bridge. The rollers allow you to easily adjust the string spacing to personal preference. The video shows the lower strings are not well aligned over that bridge pickups pole pieces. This could be improved by turning the rollers under those strings until properly centered, if one cares to, it's extremely simple.
      Hey, maybe offer to trade that tiny guitar on top of the Laney for your friend's Gretsch!
      Enjoyable video, thanks for sharing.

    Oh my, Johnathan... I’ve been looking at this guitar. Is the bridge fixed and stable? Sometimes they float or slide.

    • @dreamscuba
      @dreamscuba 3 роки тому +1

      The bridge is not pinned. Thus, not fixed. I had the spacer bridge replaced with a roller bridge to improve tuning stability. This was a recommendation from GWorx, who also did the installation. The guitar definitely stays in tune well. But, I don’t use the Bigsby much. The bridge does not tend to move on my guitar, even though it is not pinned. I hope this information helps.

    Just curious...
    Were the strings hitting the back of the bridge on that guitar? I have a silver Gretsch 5230T and on mine they hit the bridge after they cross over the saddles but before they get to the Bigsby.
    I literally had to stack metal washers up under the Bigsby to raise it to stop that from happening.
    It was causing the strings to bind which was causing tuning problems especially with the trem.
    I couldnt raise the bridge because the action would have been too high.

    • @JonIsJustTooLoud
      @JonIsJustTooLoud  5 років тому

      Hi... No they don't.. Did you get yours to play properly in the end? These Gretsch hardware are just so punksteam at times 😆✌️

      @@JonIsJustTooLoud
      Yeah it's kinda has the Steampunk look. Right?
      I wasnt very observant when I watched the video the 1st time, so after I asked you about the bridge I watched it again.
      One of the 3 major differences between my Gretsch (They look almost identical..) and that one is the bridge.
      That one uses a "Space Control" bridge which has curved slots for the strings to pass over.
      Mine uses what's basically a "Tuno-matic" Gibson style bridge.
      On the Space Control there is nothing for the strings to bind up on once it passes over the saddle slots.
      I need to do some measuring and research to see if the Space Control or an actual roller bridge will solve this design flaw.
      Thanks! : )

    I love the way a Gretsch looks, but my son always told me that playing one is not looking at one. I'm pretty certain I know what he meant now. After seeing a number of your other videos on Strats, Teles and LP's, it did look like you had to wrestle with this Gretsch a bit.
