I don't know how they went from "get in the basement" "realistic graphics" "real horror" to "bugs and glitches" "crappy graphics" and "horrible ai". In other words, this trailer looks better than the actual game. That's sad. We waited a year for realistic graphics, true horror, and smooth frames. Instead, we waited a year for mcdonalds graphics, a handful of bugs, and horrible frame rate. Also, it would be better if the neighbor had a smaller house, NO MINIGAMES, and a simple plot, get in the basement. This trailer is made with the hand of god. The full release however, is made with a burger king drive thru.
I Kinda waited for this game to buy , i will not buy the full version because of the ''crappy graphics'' ''horrible ai'' and glitches , 52$ to a crap . the first beta was better than the final version i don't know , why did they don't have uploaded this in 2016 ?

Same. The idea of the neighbor stealthing to you when he Sees you But you don't See him would be amazing, and Maybe was prioratised at the end of the Trailer when the gamer tried to open the basement.

You know they should’ve kept this. Like, all of it. The artstyle was unique and semi-realistic, rather than cartoony and colorful. The dim colors and grim theme of this trailer really fit this game specifically, more than most others. The AI was smarter too. It didn’t get stuck in its own territory, wasn’t buggy, didn’t walk around aimlessly all day, the AI acted like a human being. It watched tv (presumably, and seen in alphas), ate in the kitchen, and reacts to things like a tomato being thrown, and then cleans it, the AI felt like a human. The neighbor also treated the house like it was really his. As seen here and in other alphas, he would cut you off and assume your next position, and would stealth you when he sees you but you don’t see him, which is displayed twice here. I just wish they kept the game the same.
@@Hunkonly6678 well I know it’s scripted but the AI is generally better seen here and in alphas, plus we can assume that the alpha 1 and pre-alpha AI is similar or just like this AI.
Boy, this game was disappointing. We get the full game and we get NOTHING that was shown in concept art and trailers. This is how not to make a game, people.
I actually had a good time playing the full game, tbh, I think they focused way more on story than the AI, mechanics, and stuff like that, though the pre-alpha is more of a horror, not a puzzle, I much rather prefer the pre-alpha than full game
On game jolt someone made this version of the game if you really like this version of the game download it just look up hello neighbor on game jolt and u will find it
Fennec Besixdouze Not in the same sort of way that many other horror games do so. Nothing deliberately jumps out with the intent on startling the player. I mean jumpscares like the ones in FNAF (and the numerous games trying to copy FNAF), where something pops up on the screen with a loud noise.
this is just sad. this was so much better , the ambiance is so good , the neighbors ai everything was so perfect. the atmosphere and everything makes it so.. scary and uneasy in the good way??? such a missed opportunity.
@ yeah i just think about the wasted potential the lore itself could have been too. i wish it wasn’t the typical thing it is now (i read the books yet idek half of the lore??) it took them 5-6 years just for people to get a grip on the lore and thats only because of the show unfortunately.
Damn, just to know it’s already been 4 years and to know that I’ve been with this game for 4 years already too. I remember watching the alpha 2 trailer and getting hyped seeing a whole new look and feel of the game. I love this game and I’ll always stick by it, I still can’t believe it’s been 4 years
Came back to this trailer after Glitchfest: The Sequel was announced and my God, everytime I watch this trailer I realize how much potential was wasted with this game 2017: Creepy Murderous Neighbor who stalks you around his house with advanced and adaptive AI While you solve interesting, yet easy to understand puzzles and try not to FECKIN DIE in a realistic looking environment. (And, you know, the game was actually scary) 2020: Stupid-looking Crow-Man "Guest" Dragging you across the floor as your View bugs out and he throws you 20 miles out a window while you search across a massive map looking for useful items that are randomized while trying just not to lose your items because a creepy game over cutscene like being dragged into the basement/attic or something would've been too scary for the kiddos in a cartoony drug hallucination-looking environment. WTF HAPPENED TO THIS GAME!? (also side-note, Why is the crow guy named "The Guest" Am I the only one who dosent understand that name choice?)
idk, but remember that this "sequel" also has some plot holes, like, the house was already completely torn by the first game right?most of the game was a dream, so from where the fuck did this house come from, unless it is from between the act 2 and the beggining for the first game, it would be the only logical explanation. but i gotta say, they are making the game darker with a bit of a different art style in this occasion, i am seeing forward to EerieGuest and TinyBuild make a better game that truly revolves around the original concept and fix the mess of a game the first one was.
@@wavv4365 The game kind of dropped after Alpha 3. The game went from scary to just a puzzle game. Sure, there was a lot more lore in the final act, but it wasn't as good as the old alphas. Alpha 1 was scary because of the more realistic look whilst pulling off an intimidating house. Now, it's just a cartoony world with a black sludgy toilet brush man and Mary Poppins umbrellas. I miss those old days, man.
Fall River isn't that bad, yes some people are shitty there but I'm not scared of anyone or anything there. I need horror games to scare me. But that's just me right?
Wow, in about 5 days this prototype will be 7 years old. I remember when this first came out, I felt like this was a promising game coming out soon. And then, when I played Alpha 3 and all of the other versions after that I was like "Hold on, this is NOTHING like how it was in the announcement trailer."
Happy 2023! I can't believe this game will be 7 years old when it strikes September, Hello Neighbor has come a long way it feels like yesterday when Hello Neighbor 1 came out. Thank you, for bringing this game to tinyBuild and Eerie Guest Studios. (used to be Dynamic Pixels)
killzone 703 yah, it says it is stealth horror, but wouldn't the player be the creepy neighbor breaking into the house be the killer, not the guy who lives in the house I broke into
You heard this man has the very last copy of the fabled Knack for PS4 and must break in to find it and destroy it before a sequel is made. Before it's too late. The man living in the house is an avid Knack fan and will do anything to stop you from destroying his most prized possession.

Then the full realese has a weird story about a shadow or something, the game has childish graphics, it's not scary and you gotta like "save the neighbor"??? Dude the neighbor is supposed to be the antagonist of this game. Damn they just wasted all of this game's potential to be a successful, creative, fun and scary game. "My disappointment is inmeasurable, and my day is ruined."
Well, I could say that if you do like puzzles, mystery, challenge and jumpscares then it might be appealing. And you just have to appreciate for what the game is. And if you don't like the full game, then play an older version or just go do something else.
This trailer abd the Alphas got me so excited. A neighbor who remembers your hiding spots, cuts you off, puts down traps to stop you, etc, why tf did they choose to ditch that and go for a stupid parkour/puzzle style?
Fun fact: the prototype is actually the 3rd 3D Build of hello neighbor, with the first being the DevGAMM Animation which was made in 2014, and the very early gameplay, aka the pre-prototype which was made in 2014 as well
This will always be the best version of hello neighbor. Also why is it that the announcement trailer is better than the actual game. This is the case for hello neighbor 1 and 2
Well at least we probably get a good AI on Hello Neighbor 2. I saw the deep dive gameplay, and the AI is very good. And it looked like they focused on the stealth.

Better trailer than the actual game
The developers wanted to add a scary story, but they wanted money, so they reduced the rating of the game to 13 +.
In the original version, the neighbor was supposed to be a Satanist, there were bold hints about it
@@Nebo-Zemlya now looking back at old alphas I see how he was a satanist makes alot of sense

the whole trailer was purposeless
it's smart indeed!
Mohamed Khaled wow, not that you say the whole backstory, thats kinda freaky. So its just a guy who thinks a neighbor is suspicious and decides to investigate, finding out hes a maniac

I love how its scary and cartoonish at the same time brings a lot of unique art style

When your announcement trailer is better than the full game you know you have a competitor to this
You know they should’ve kept this.
This is scripted but I agree the pre alpha felt similar to this
@@Hunkonly6678 well I know it’s scripted but the AI is generally better seen here and in alphas, plus we can assume that the alpha 1 and pre-alpha AI is similar or just like this AI.
when hello neighbor was for adults!
When Hello Neighbor was a good and legitimately scary game.
FGTeev ruined the game, they made kids get interested in Hello Neighbor
Grape Juice Monkey yeah so once tinybuild saw that kids were playing it they had to change it to a friendlier type game

Boy, this game was disappointing. We get the full game and we get NOTHING that was shown in concept art and trailers. This is how not to make a game, people.
luka gaming Well, if you want this build, some guy made a fan-game of the prototype, and it looks just like the real trailer.
I actually had a good time playing the full game, tbh, I think they focused way more on story than the AI, mechanics, and stuff like that, though the pre-alpha is more of a horror, not a puzzle, I much rather prefer the pre-alpha than full game
If they released it like this it would be more of a walkthrough then a trailer

He's not remotely scary to look at like the amnesia monsters or outlast but i still panicked just watching this haha
so much of it has to do with the sound design
What makes him scary is his big fat chin
it uses the classic elements of horror, where the anticipation is much worse than the final product (in this case the final product is the neighbor)
That's kind of the point. You don't need to have tons of gore and jumpscares to cause panic/fear.
Fennec Besixdouze
Not in the same sort of way that many other horror games do so.
You still got Pre-Alpha, Alpha 1, Alpha 2 and endless fan games that recreates this kind of stuff
@ yeah i just think about the wasted potential the lore itself could have been too. i wish it wasn’t the typical thing it is now (i read the books yet idek half of the lore??) it took them 5-6 years just for people to get a grip on the lore and thats only because of the show unfortunately.
this looks like a better game than the current game

the trailer's aesthetics are just amazing, better then the final product.
Rip for the *Potential* this game had to become amazing
Came back to this trailer after Glitchfest: The Sequel was announced and my God, everytime I watch this trailer I realize how much potential was wasted with this game
2017: Creepy Murderous Neighbor who stalks you around his house with advanced and adaptive AI
While you solve interesting, yet easy to understand puzzles and try not to FECKIN DIE in a realistic looking environment.
(And, you know, the game was actually scary)
2020: Stupid-looking Crow-Man "Guest" Dragging you across the floor as your View bugs out and he throws you 20 miles out a window
while you search across a massive map looking for useful items that are randomized while trying just not to lose your items because a creepy game over cutscene like being dragged into the basement/attic or something would've been too scary for the kiddos in a cartoony drug hallucination-looking environment.
