Lead singer Jani Lane and I were good friends when I lived in Hollywood. He was the greatest guy. Whenever he met people he made them feel like the most important person in the room. He had no rockstar ego. He was just John from Ohio renamed Jani from his German grandparents who pronounce Johnny as Janni. He is gone far too soon. August 11, 2011 is a day I can’t stand because he left this world. I love and miss him so much. I’m actually crying writing this so please excuse any typos.
That is absolutely amazing that you had a friendship and a special bond with Janine that is such a cool experience and thing to be able to say that you were good friends with an absolute rock star!
he was a great songwriter as well. it's a tough lifestyle.
I was gonna come on here and speak on his life and death but nothing I could of said would be as touching as your story... a great loss and I hope your pain will fade over time, you'll never forget but the pain will fade...
his music helped me through some extremly tough times i also dont speak much august 11 due to how much effect it had on me
So sorry for your loss. He definitely seemed like he was a beautiful person ♥️
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" is a must! So are "Sometimes She Cries", "Mr. Rainmaker," "Sure Feels Good To Me," "32 Pennies In A Ragu Jar," and "Bed Of Roses"Jani Lane was so talented, truly a loss. 🙏🏻💖
Yes i agree with Uncle Tom's Cabin....I was hoping that was the next one they reacted to
The Bitter Pill was always my favorite song. Dog Eat Dog was a great album in general.
"Sometimes she cries" = FIRE
@@chefgeopec6255 As a woman, I can confirm that it is an absolute banger to belt out. 🤘🏻😄
Don't Forget - Blind Faith
One of the greatest songs I think this band ever did was called "Uncle Tom's cabin". I think you'll be impressed!
Yep it's my favorite of their tracks.
YES! I love that song. Plus it's a story song
My absolute favorite from them...one of the best hair band rockers ever
Yes that song is rocking, play it loud.
Song is SO badass!!!
Vocalist Janie Lane is a phenomenal singer/songwriter. RIP janie !!!!!!!
Unbelievable most beautiful voice
One of the great power ballads of the 80's!!
I was lucky to have seen Warrant live twice with Poison both times. Uncle Tom's Cabin is a must now!!!
Warrant is one of the most talented of the "hair bands". Jani had the most beautiful voice.
Sometimes She Cries is another banger, and I saw Red...
I met Jani when he had his rock bar here in Orlando. He was the NICEST guy ever. I was crushed when he passed away.
I saw red is a great heartfelt song
@@stevebrien1041 I had the cassette single. The acoustic version on the B-side was amazing as well. I listened to both sides so many times.
Loved sometimes she cries.
@@stevebrien1041 love I Saw Red! Cherry Pie is a great album!
The whole album is insanely good!
I saw Warrant in concert back in the early 90's. They headlined but Trixter and Firehouse opened up for them. Jani came out into the crowd and all the way towards the back where I was standing.
I remember that tour! Loved both Warrant and Trixter. It was a fun time!
@@mangerinegirl yeah I saw them in Charlotte, NC
This was their biggest song (#2 in US)
Uncle Tom's Cabin, Down Boys, And I Saw Red for more from them
I didn't realize at the time how spoiled we were in the 80s for not just great music, but great musicians! Warrant were sometimes taken as kind of frivolous, but they had some truly impressive songs - "I Saw Red" was a gorgeous power ballad, and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" a chilling (yet rocking!) story song. I cannot recommend highly enough that you check both of those out!
"Miles Away" by Winger is one of the best (IMO) power ballads! Kip Winger was a major crush for me, with a beautiful voice to boot!
Ooh yes, excellent choice! That was a beautiful song, and the singer was very easy on the eyes too! :D
Winger had some great songs.
Yep great song. I've seen a few recent videos of him performing it live with a lady, can't remember who she is but I think she's related to him.
I love me some Winger! I’m still crushing on Kip
Generally speaking, on a double-neck guitar, one neck is a 6 string and the other is a 12 string. Sometimes both are 6 strings, but with different tunings.
Sometimes different pickup configurations as well.
It’s impossible to watch this video and not get choked up over the fact that the singer Jani is no longer with us. Probably this one more than any other Warrant song, because you can really see how much joy and life he brought with him. I loved all of their songs from the first two albums, but this one has a special place in my heart and I’m really glad you got to see this side of them. The video also makes me miss seeing them in concert, it was always a blast.
Next up you need to do “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Rocks hard but also shows a softer side at the same time!
I agree but I love all their albums from 1989-2004 with Jani and Warrant actually tried to fit in during the Alternative/Grunge era with their studio album Belly to Belly Vol. 1 not one my favs but I love a few songs on the album but I really love Dog Eat Dog and Ultraphobic those 2 studio albums from 1992 & 1995 showed a very heavy side to Warrant but also they kept their sensitive soft side as well with power ballads on both albums..
Please do reaction to Warrant’s “I saw Red”, such a great song. The lead singer definitely has such a beautiful voice. Gone too soon 😔💕
💯 that’s my fav song by them
I LOVE this song! Jani had a wonderful voice!
Yeah!
My favorite sub-sub-sub-genre of all music is the power ballads of the late '80s and early '90s. So beautiful!!!
PLEASE react to "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Warrant. Story song, great rock sound, plus a banjo!
Oh, man this takes me back to the days of watching MTV before school. I LOVED this song when it came out. This was one of the ones that made me keep my love of 80's "hair bands" even as the grunge revolution pushed them out of the limelight. Don't get me wrong, I came of age during grunge, and AIC is one of my favorite bands ever, but even after kids my age were trashing the music of the 80's, I was standing up for it! I remember in the late 90's when the "Monster Ballads" collection used to advertise on TV all the time, I felt vindicated - there WAS a love for these songs still out there, and this one to me was one of the best!
I miss the hair bands. Even though I do love some grunge, the hair metal was FAR superior!
RIP Jani Lane. Taken from us way too soon!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I just watched this earlier today. Jani was a dear friend who I miss more with each passing day. What I would not give for one more phone conversation, one more hug....... This video let's you hear how wonderfully talented he was. He had an incredible voice and his song writing skills were superb. The loss is huge and will always be felt. Hearing you like this is a tribute to the man I proudly called a friend+
Carol, Jani was also a dear friend of mine. He would often come hang out with me at work. One night he hands me a cd and asks if we can play it in the DJ booth. We start playing what was a demo of Cherry Pie. He blessed me with the honor of hearing CP even before the executives did. He had the most caring and beautiful soul. I miss my brother every day. I love that lunatic. He was a crazy guy at times, but was gentle as a lamb. He’s gone too soon and deserves to Rest In Peace.
@@billhowe5921 the pain is so real. It is wonderful to know that you knew the real Jani as well. I think we are both gifted to have had the pleasure to spare a place on earth with him. I agree with the crazy lamb. I saw both sides. He gave the best hugs ever. I still forget some days and wonder if he will call. It hurts. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. We will love him in unison until we are gone. Much love and many hugs your way.
@@buckcherrygirl You can call me crazy if you don’t believe, but I went to a very very good medium who channeled my wife through and would tell me what she says. She told me things only my wife and I knew. I asked my wife if she met Jani in Heaven. She said yes, he’s right here. I got to talk to my buddy and again say things on he and I knew. The next time I went to see the medium, I was talking with my wife and the medium says, your music friend is here and he wants to talk to you. Jani told me that he and I have been connected in past lives like friends and brothers, etc. we have a soul bond is what the medium called it and we will most likely continue to be in each other’s lives every time we reincarnate. I told him to wait for me so we can be in a band together. He said don’t worry I’m not coming back for a long while. I said, I’m dealing with CTE and have maybe 8-12 years remaining on earth. So you better wait. I know it sounds crazy, but I do believe it because before I thought it was all bull 💩
@@billhowe5921 that is so interesting. There is a lady I follow closely on the tube that is a medium. I am wanting to have her do a reading on me and I have always wondered if Jani would pop in. How wonderful that must have been for you. The more you tell me, I feel like you are my link that was missing. Thank you so much. I am on FB with a black rose pic under the same name. Friend me if you like. I could listen to stories of Jani and grand adventures for hours or days at a time. You may bring tears to my eyes, but they will be tears of joys because I am sure it will bring up memories that I have stored away too.
@@buckcherrygirl Carol, I can’t find you. Search for me. I’m easy to find. I use the same avatar. My screen name is QBCoachBillHowe
GREAT!!! I’m glad that you guys have revisited Warrant but please do “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” next. Others to add to the list are Blind Faith, Down Boys and Sometimes She Cries. They have a lot of great ballads to. Jani Lane could write a great tune. RIP!
I remember being a 19YO kid buying Warrant's debut album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" a loving the heck out of it. "Down Boys" and "Big Talk" were songs I regularly played and replayed. Thanks for bringing back those memories.
I thought Cherry Pie was their debut album?
I stand corrected. I just looked it up and you are correct. I just always thought Cherry Pie was their debut lol
Those two songs still kick ass!
Ditto. 19. I remember going into a store and looking at the lyrics to Down Boys in Hit Parader. The way the street light silhouettes your thighs inside your dress.
I always thought the song "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" was a fun and funny song.
This is from their Debut album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich". They had 4 radio hits from that album "Down Boys" "Big Talk" "Sometimes She Cries" "Heaven" and the whole album was great.
Oh... you might have noticed in the song "Cherry Pie" at the beginning they chant/sing the title of this album then kick in the actual song.
I always thought that was a cool throwback to the way they started the first album.
This is how I love my hair bands. All that white leather...and loud guitar...and synchronized moves like all hitting their knees at the same time. Jani is missed by so many fangirls who fell in love with those blue eyes. My favorite Warrant songs are Uncle Toms Cabin, I Saw Red and Big Talk. I hope you find time to check those out as well.
Another great " hair band" from the 80's. I want to go back!! 😊
All Big Hair power ballads rock! Thanks for keeping great music alive!
Some WARRANT songs to react to are:
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" (Got to watch the official video for it),
"Sometimes She Cries",
" I Saw Red ",
"Blind Faith",
"Down Boys",
"32 Pennies",
"Stronger Now",
"Bitter Pill",
"Machine Gun".
I Miss Jani Lane so much!! He was such a huge talent. His voice was awesome and he wrote incredible songs. I will never forget him! RIP Jani! ❤🙏💋
RIP Jani Lane, great song!! Great Band!
I went to a concert with Warrant, Slaughter and Vince Neil in a field outside a bar in northern Michigan in the mid 1900's with my sister and a group of our friends. They were great. Jani Lane was a terrific frontman. While I was in the crowd with friends between sets, my sister and a friend were in the bar talking to Jani. They said they talked to him for about a half hour and that he was such a down to earth, regular guy who enjoyed hanging out with them. He was a great song writer and musician. Some of my favourites are Bed of Roses, Big Talk, Bitter Pill, Andy Warhol Was Right, Mr. Rainmaker, Uncle Tom's Cabin and Song and Dance Man. Another power ballad to check out is Poison's "Somethin' To Believe In", the official video, especially to see Brett Michael's reactions in it.
They were a great band back then and he had an amazing voice!
🤘💜🤘 Seen Warrant live twice in the '80s. In 1988 they opened for Cinderella and in 1989 they opened for Poison. So good and energetic
RIP Jani. I hope your heart and soul found the heavenly peace and love you so wanted in life. You are missed. 💔
Down Boys - Warrant is a fire song! It’s a total upbeat banger and would love to see you react to it! Thanks for reacting to this great ballad! Also, if you want another great ballad song from them, I Saw Red is great!
Warrant was such an underrated band and is so great it's very sad thst Jami is no longer with us a truely great singer! Another song you need to react to is Uncle Tom's Cabin a great rocking song!!
Jani Lane was an incredible vocalist - gone way too soon. So glad you finally found this. One of rock's greatest ballads
Uncle Tom's Cabin by them is a banger. It rocks so hard!
About the 2:18 mark and a tad before there are spiritual orbs in the video. I truly believe it's the singer Jani Lane giving his blessing to your reactions. Rest In Peace Jani
that was the coolest thing I've ever seen. so i started look at every comment to see if i was the only one
I saw that as well I've rewatched it several times and it's there. The first one looks like a small Angels feather floating down the right side of the screen @2:18 mark.
You guys should listen to “I Saw Red.” Jani (lead singer) wrote that song after walking in on his girlfriend with his friend. The song is amazing.
Absolutely that is the only song Jani has written that is based on events in his life, and I still can't get over how Richie Sambora lead-guitarist of Bon Jovi, chose to sleep with Janie's GF Bekka at the time, I know it caused Jani to have a nervous breakdown but I don't know how he managed after walking in and catching Rickie and Bekka in the act, I honestly don't know if I could have dealt with walking in and catching them, it's not like hearing about it, but seeing it, really bothered and messed with Jani for years to come with other demons he was facing, but there will never be another band like The Original Down Boys and not another Vocalist, musician, Frontman, performer or singer-songwriter lika the song and dance man himself Jani Lane R.I.P.
You should hear "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by these guys next. Their best one, in my opinion. It doesn't seem to get enough recognition or airplay - at least in Australia.
Down Boys, Big Talk, Sometimes She Cries, I Saw Red, Blind Faith, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Machine Gun, and The Bitter Pill are also great songs to explore by Warrant
Rain maker
April 2041
OMG
Definitely need to do Bitter Pill.
I met Jani when they were opening for Motley Crue in Little Rock, back in the day! Amazing show, I remember to this day! We lost Jani a few years ago, I miss him, a lot 💔
My wife worked with one of Joey Allen’s older sisters and I got all kinds of cool Warrant merchandise. A couple of Cherry Pie tee shirts and many signed posters. I LOVE their music!!!
You wanna hear a really good power ballad guys? You need to listen to The Damn Yankees- High Enough that is an iconic hair band power ballad from my youth which was the late 80's-early 90's before the hair bands gave way to the early grudge bands of '92. Like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, etc.
I'll second that! Please chech out Damn Yankees.
Darn Yankees was a "superband"
Ahhh Ted
Almost every hair metal band of the 1980s had a power ballad - Warrant had one of the best ones. If you want another power ballad with the name Heaven, try Bryan Adams' song by that name - the live version in Wembley Stadium is the best version of that.
Hair bands have some awesome ballads
I saw them 4 times over 30 years ago and they were amazing live...great musicians and showmen! they did all that jumping around, getting on their knees and spinning WHILE playing too...To my boy Jay: There are many reasons for a double neck. The first was one neck had 12 strings, the other 6. Another one was one a bass the other a 6 string guitar, like Mike Rutherford (Genesis) and Geddy Lee (RUSH) had. Another reason different tunings on each neck...A lot of guitarists think they are just too heavy though...
I remember when this song came out. Saw Warrant in concert shortly after. I was young but this song has always been in my heart.
The song Uncle Tom's Cabin is a great story song with video to match . One of my favorites. And how my heart hurts then Jani is no longer with us 🙂😞💔
Saw Warrant in concert with Alice Cooper, Slaughter and Dokken. My daughter was madly in love with Jani. At one point, he jumped off the stage and walked into the crowd as he was singing. My daughter made a beeline for him. Although extremely thin, she's pretty tall and I worried she was going to jump on him. She just stopped dead when she reached him. She put her arm around him, he put his around her and she walked through the crowd with him for a while. What a sweet guy. Broke our hearts when he died.
I'm glad you brought that up ma'am, I've been lucky to see Warrant a total of 15x's 14 with Jani and once with Robert in 2019 at the signal here Chattanooga, TN. , But there's a lot of fans and people who don't know about that side of the band and Jani, I keep in touch with Michelle, Janie's sister and we talk at least once maybe twice a week and like I've heard her tell someone or say it Jani would put his fans first he wanted to feel like the were the most important person in the world and wanted their fans getting their money's worth for buying a ticket which back then we're anywhere from $15-20 a ticket, also leaving their show telling everyone how Warrant put on the greatest show on earth and yes he would always get out in the crowd to be with the fans but to also reach the fans that were farther away from the stage, I know it won't happen but I would love to see his oldest daughter Madison (Maddie) Lane become the vocalist for Warrant she can sing and has a beautiful voice and has covered two of her Dad's songs Heaven & Stronger Now on SoundCloud & youtube
Your next Warrant reaction should be "Down Boys", it will certainly get Jay's feet moving. PS : Saw Warrant and Poison when their toured came to Albany, NY on Nov 16, 1990, and let me tell you both bands sing/play as well live as they do/did in the studio!
This track is so underrated, awesome to see you react to it 😊
Another great power ballad from the decade of power ballads. A great time to be an adolescent, with great music .
Warrant is such an underrated band…
Not just the power ballads but ALL of them could sing!
80s anthem. Pure power ballad goodness. Ive seen Warrant three times and man they can put on a song!
I have to admit I am in tears. I saw Warrant every time they came into town whether it was a large arena or a small bar. Jani Lane was an incredible songwriter and singer that was gone way too soon. Grunge came and dropped the floor underneath them. The last time I saw Warrant was the night before the imploded The Aladdin Hotel in Vegas. I traveled there to see them. I loved his song Stronger Now that a lot of people haven't heard but should have been a big hit. Jani was such an incredible talent and he had demons that he was fighting and I understand those demons. I wish he could have let more people help him with them and get the real help he needed. I admit I refused to acknowledge the band after he was gone. I'm softening my opinion and what brought me around was the band Queen. They lost their front man too and they choose Adam Lambert pats respect a to Freddie and is amazing and I hope to catch a show if they don't retire before they come to the US again. I will look at what the band Warrant is doing and decide from there. I understand loving the front man and thinking no one should replace them.
I felt the same way you did when the Original Down Boys left the band at times and I really believe if The Song and Dance Man himself was still with us The original Down Boys would be together if Jani would reach out and ask for help, advice in regards to dealing with his demons but we all have our demons, but I've seen Warrant a total of 15 X's 14 with Jani as Frontman and a very talented musician, performer, and singer-songwriter, it's just crazy of all the songs he wrote only one was true and personal, very personal at that, that would have been a very, very hard pill to swallow and I couldn't say how he felt cause I don't know what I would have done, but Jani had a nervous breakdown because of it and made their debut multi- platinum album be released a year later instead of 88' released in January 31st 1989, but as I was saying I finally seen Warrant with Robert Mason and they have produced two great studio albums but in my opinion he should stick with singing songs off the 2 albums he sang on with Warrant, cause he doesn't do any of Warrant's older songs with Jani singing any justice, but of course you just can't always get a vocalist/singer and expect them to sound like the band you grew up with, that would be like poison without Bret Michaels or Aerosmith without Steven Tyler, glad you got to see them live, I just loved them from the start before they signed with Columbia they didn't have rockstar egos or sign a autograph and walk away Jani would actually have conversations with his fans and make you feel important and what you said mattered but the funny thing is of all the conversations that I've been lucky to have with Jani not once did he ever talk about or bring the lifestyle of a rockstar but instead talked about life in general and issues and things that were going on at the time, and sorry I got off of what I was meaning to say but Warrant was my favorite Glam Metal band and the only band then and to this day that would tell the fans where they were going after the show and to come hang out with the band... I've not heard about or seen another band do this...
RIP Jani! Great song & ugh, brought tears to my eyes! So many amazing memories...so long ago. You really should check out WINGER..HEADED FOR A HEARTBREAK/ MILES AWAY/SEVENTEEN
Interesting! You've reacted to several songs lately that are ballads on a 'collection' album I have called 'Monster Ballads', which are all the ballad cuts from all the heavy rock bands like Warrant, Survivor, Guns n Roses, Nazareth and others. Most that I hang with would turn up their noses at this collection , but I love it! :)
Jani was incredible. RIP. 🥲💘
R.I.P Jani lane, such a great rock vocalist 🙏
Great song! Jani had a great voice and was a great songwriter
Nice reaction! Try Mason Williams “Classical Gas” from 1968!🤘🔥
Wife here...Jani Lane jumped off the stage right in front of the stage and started singing ( to me)..My galpals Freaked..As do I..This was around 91...Quiet the memory!!..He was truly talented and left us way to soon!
You know that a R&R band I'd solid as hell by the quality of their ballad!
Omg you guys are listening to all my favorites today! Heaven was my first favorite rock song and is very special to me.
One of my FAVORITE songs EVER.Jani's voice is so gorgeous. They all sounded great together. And the guitar solo was fabulous. "I saw red" is also great.
@Rob Squad Reactions You need to add 'Warrant - Sometimes She Cries' to you list! Still a banger ballad to this day...
I think you'll would love to hear Firehouse Love of a lifetime. Another awesome 80s band
Every hairband in the 80's had one or two "power ballads" in every new album. It was a must for the era. They opened with a rocking video to promote the record and then came the ballad. To show their "sensitive" side. It became a standard for hairbands. Some of the ballads were really good (like this one), but there were a lot that were just not very original and annoying. Funny thing was that almost all the videos for poweballads showed the "hardships" of touring. It became funny at some point.
You can blame Nikki Sixx. With the success of home sweet home, every band had to have a ballad.
Power ballads yes! They were there I think....to pull the girls into their fan base. Metal was for the longest time mostly by and for men.
It also helped when performing a show for an hour, can't be plying fast and singing loud for a whole show, got to include a slow song once in a while to relax.
The power ballad can kill a band too. Just look at what More Than Words did for Extreme.
@@donjackson5522 that song may not be up your alley buddy but it is just about the only song they are known for and the other one is hole hearted which is only slightly more aggressive. More than words will be paying for generations of swimming pools for the members of that band.
But I get it. They did have some slamming songs. Get the funk out. All day sucker. Pornografitti. Whoooooooo!
Also can I just confess that I may or may not consistently mix up the groups extreme and Mr Big. But it's okay because I love them both.
I think Nuno did a round with Van Halen didn't he?
Great choice guy’s this is one of my favorites from them 😀
J, traditionally double neck guitars are usually 12 string and six string. 12 usually on top.
As far as I know all pickups are treating each guitar with the same effects but I’ve never played one.
In Rush’s Xanadu video from live Exit Stage left both are playing double necks. However Geddy has a bass on top and a six string on the bottom. That is a video you must see. Incredible performance.
So much love for Warrant to this day. This made me smile.
Next up for Warrant... please review 'I saw Red' or my personal favorite 'Bitter Pill'.
Glad to see you pull Warrant out of your bag... by far the most underrated hair metal band of the 80s
Amazing band, amazing song!!! R.i.p. máster Jani lane.
Warrant was such a great example of the Hair Band Era! So many amazing songs; The Down Boys, 32 pennies, I saw red, and Uncle Tom's cabin. Just to name a few. Sadly tho, the lead singer passed away several years ago. RIP Jani Lane. 😥💔
I love the lyrics and i love this song
Love Warrant! This one puts me in my high school feels! It was one of those love ballads that reminded you of your crush! 😂
Erik Turner guitar player and founding member of Warrant lives next door to my son and his family. Great guy. Very approachable. I have a cd never been published with 3 songs that Jani Lane sang along with other rockers from KISS, and other singers. Erik was so gracious and signed the cd cover for me. Too bad these songs are not out for public purchase. Great rock and ballad songs. Erik wrote several of them along with other artists on the cd.
Warrent - Uncle Tom's Cabin! Rocks!
Cinderella - Gypsy Road!
Tom Petty - Don't do me like that - You got Lucky - Don't come around here no more
Aerosmith - Mama Kin - Chip away at the Stone - Toys in the Attic
The 80's had it all...especially the hair band music but rock in general. Jani Lane was the most amazing songwriter. I was fortunate to meet him twice. His voice is remembered well. This is my second favorite tune of all time right here.
R.I.P. buddy. He was a great artist that let it get to him. I played this song when I proposed to my first wife and almost melted.
You guys are my absolutely my favorite reaction channel. Every family has some issues but you don't let it show. Kudos. Keep up the good work. Amber. If you weren't married...
The first time I saw Warrant was in 89 while on tour for this debut record and they were opening for Tesla with House of Lords at Big Surf in Mesa, AZ. They were really great and just had a ton of fun on stage. The highlight of the show was after Tesla came out for an encore, some of the Def Leppard boys came out with them to do a couple songs. They became friends after Tesla opened for Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour, which I thankfully also saw in Phoenix. Very sad to lose Jani so young, really great live performer.
80’s bands were KILLER. It’s timeless I’ve seen many hair bands back in the day. Wouldn’t change a thing I’m 54 and still rocking to those bands everyday 🇺🇸👍🤘
Favorite band of all. And the absolute best power Ballad of all time.
Great pick, guys! We used to have a jukebox in the cafeteria of my high school, and they used to play this song every day. It immediately takes me back there. I would like to recommend some more power ballads: "Love Is On The Way" by Saigon Kick, and two from Kiss: "Beth" and "Forever."
I saw them in concert beautiful song gone to early in life RIP Jani Lane have some heavenly cherry pie rocking the heavens 🕊️😔😔
A double-necked guitar is truly two different guitars in one. WHAT those guitars are depends on the player. The most common is a standard 6-string guitar (which belts out the wailing guitar parts and solos), and a 12-string guitar (which offers a more complex sound). You can also get them with a standard/bass set-up... this one looks like it's two 6-string necks, which are likely tuned differently to use in different songs without a guitar change.
The HUGE drawback to these is that they are HEAVY - your shoulder will definitely get a workout while playing one of these.
Glad you like these glam-rock bands from the mid to late 80's - they made life back then so cool! Ok, pro musician here - to comment on Jay's question about double neck guitars: double necks are used for guitarists who need to quickly switch between designated sounds that certain guitars provide without having a stage technician run out to swap out guitars in the middle of a song - doubles can be heavy, but very versatile - and with foot pedal boards, many sounds can be dialed in during shows - there are many combinations of doubles - ex. - top neck could be a 12 string & bottom neck could be a 6 string lead. Plus the various pickups, string gauges, bridges etc. all combine giving a guitarist options during a show - from Rush to Warrant - many bands use them for a reason -
Respect to Jani and his family
My Dad introduced me to Warrant. One of the best ballads. Rip Jani and Rip Dad🙌🏻🕊💙
Warrant has so many great songs. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "April 2031"
are my favorites!
This is one of the few power ballads from that 80's that I can still listen to. Most of them were so over played that I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing them again. This one is different and listening to it today punched me right in the feels. Blind Faith and Let It Rain are two other really good Warrant ballads. But, for something that rocks, I would recommend Uncle Tom's Cabin.
Great choices but Warrant has a heavier side it started with Dog Eat Dog album 1992 but their 1995 album Ultraphobic rocks very hard songs like undertow, followed , A.Y.M., Family Picnic to name a few but they also have ballads on both albums as well..
These 80’s ballads would make women’s hearts melt
Jani was one of the greatest lead singers of the 80's, he had more control over a crowd than anyone I've ever seen. This is one of my all time favorite songs.
I knew the homes was gonna dig this song, because in passing he's mentioned they have daughters, and the lines "i don't need to be the king of the world, as ling as im the hero to this little girl"... hooked! ❤️
Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich is one of my top 3 albums. "Sometimes She Cries", "Down Boys", "Big Talkers", "32 Pennies", "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" so many great songs. RIP Jani we love you and miss you.
The double neck guitar has one 6-string neck and one 12-string neck. Used mainly in live acts where the song changes from an "acoustic" sound (12 string) to an electric sound (6-string) without a break between the two.
Hi fantastic duet, you have to react to Courtney Hadwin - Old Town Road (Live Cover), she is amazing. You have no idea how long I had waited and waited and waited to hear a voice so powerful in Rock and Roll Again... I had given up hope of ever hearing something as beautiful and powerful again in this lifetime. How do I feel listening to Courtney?? I feel like a wheelchair-bound old-timer being healed at a good deep South Tent Revival and dancing in the isles! The Spirit of True Rock and Roll has revived from the Tomb!! I feel like those screaming teen girls at CBS Studios at Ed Sullivan as the Beatles take the stage!
Always one of my favourite rock ballads of all time...
This was one of Warrants most popular hits! Jani Lane, lead singer was also the primary song writer. In this one he’s saying Heaven is right here in earth as long as your with the girl you love!! Like I’m the song he sings “ No matter what your friends mite say, we will find a way”! Along with Down Boys, and Sad Theresa, this was one of the songs that Jani Lane and drummer Steven Sweet sang in their band “ Plain Jane”. In 1986 2 days after that band broke up, Lane and Sweet auditioned for Warrant, which needed a new front man and drummer !! Love you guys
"I saw red " and " uncle toms cabin" are both great songs to
Another great 80's monster ballad...Warrant's "Heaven"...Such a great song!!!
Thank you both for playing this Jani should not be forgotten rip Jani
