Thanks for these videos. I have the same rototiller and it needed a new carb. After tearing apart the old carb I decided a new one was necessary. Got a Chinese replacement along with a new fuel line and followed your instructions. This got my little unit back working. Very helpful.
Going by the design of the grip on the rewind starter, this engine would be a model 143.734032 (H35-45576N) built in 1983. If it were '84 or '85, the grip would be the modern type saying "PULL TO START," and if the engine were an '85 it would have the solid state ignition instead of points.
excellent clarity and focus in the video, very easy to follow. Thanks!
I've got one just like this on a 1977 Sears Go Kart. That engine is 43 years old, been through 3 generations of kids and still clicking along. I've pulled the head once, about 12 years ago....amazingly, there was no carbon buildup to scrape on the head or valves. I was going to replace the engine with a 5 hp Predator when the engine died or exploded....but it just won't go down. Unbelievable. So I guess we are going for 50 years. I do need to go through the carb again (been several years) , as I need to give it a snort of ether when it has set for a while to get it going. Though once warmed up......it fires up every time on even the shortest pull.
Diy metal brush wire lol == bread bag twist. Melt the plastic off carefully and it works perfectly also
@Dakworks thanks
@monsterman21897 make sure the float is still good because it can cause flooding as well
Gotta h70 thinkin bout rebuilding this winter. 2 dead ones with parts missing between the 2 i know its all there and both turn over. Plus work in a small engine shop we actually stock quite a few parts for these yet (burning though a lot of needle/seat kits and bowl nuts right now from people not summerizing their snow blowers)
The tiny hole up & to the right of the idle adjust screw is spewing gas. 1970 runs great. Just rebuilt yr. ago. Second pull every time.
yes i got one now
Donny I know this is a pretty old video but I've watched alot of your videos and I just came across this one. I'm rebuilding the same exact carb right now I'm just wondering where you order your parts from?
Any idea what size drive belt this thing uses? I've got the same tiller but the belt disintegrated.
@dukesroc01 pretty close yes
@1972FordF150 do u like the new no rating system
i have the same motor on my mini bike wich dosent run... the fuel comes out og the vent hole cause the carburator float in the bowl got stuck open nd is 30+ years old... word of advice i believe you should buy a in line fuel filther to put on the fule line it comes with a short length of fuel line so you dont have to cut your line and it can go ftom the tank to tha carb. this video has come in hhandy for me... what website did you order the rebuild kit from? good job
Great video ! thumbs up lol
