This CD is really worth acquiring. The performances are full of temper and expressive tone colours. The early violin sonata is already a captivating work, with references to hardingfele, but with little of the late Romantic treatment used by Egge's predecessors. A beautiful counterpoint to the five symphonies (all strong, individual orchestral milestones). Warmly recommended!
