- I decided to walk around Downtown Portland. From Old Town, I made my way to Pioneer Square, checking out food carts and other things of interest along the way. I didn't really have an itinerary or agenda, I just wanted to go for a walking adventure.
From Pioneer Square I ended up on Old Town Chinatown, where I discovered an extension of the Saturday Market was taking place. At the Saturday Market I ended up indulging in a couple of alcoholic Jello shots (thanks to some awesome vendors there), but did I find my cup of coffee that I was searching for? Watch to find out. 🤓
And oh, let me know if a "Walking Around Aimlessly in Downtown America" sounds like a good idea. 😂

If you like Japanese Gardens, you should check out the one up the hill in Washington Park. Said to be the most authentic outside of Japan.

Thanks for sharing the real side of downtown Portland. I am in the middle of planning a trip there with the kids from San Francisco to Crater Lake then Portland . Seeing people randomly asking for money and lots of businesses being closed down and ‘drawings’ on the walls really making me to change my mind. Also saw from other UA-cam’s, homeless people are taking a large part of downtown is scary. Hope it gets better soon.

To be honest from various videos from different youtubers I don’t feel too safe walking around just me and two young kids. Did you feel that way yourself?
@@karengong8309 I think It depends where you’re at. The retail area has lots of people around and feels safe to me.

This video was literally shot in the most sketchy part of the city -- Old Town. The city had avoided clearing homeless camps during Covid due to CDC guidelines, but they are back it, and now and have plans to move 1,000 people off the streets into shelter this year. Don't be scared ! :)

Went to Old Town Portland with my fiancee last week for Voodoo Doughnuts, Waterfront Park with a neon sign, Powell's Bookstore and ate at Little Big Burger restaurant. It's really nice walk except it's like a maze trying to make sure I don't get lost around lot of homeless tents and bump into few people with outbursts, yeah fiancee and I saw someone acted like a hulk in front of tourists.
I'm all about the chill vibe of this town though....Nice

When Ilived inPortland, I always had 20 one-dollarbills. I gave one to each homeless person who didnt harass me and demand that I do so.

We all know jaywalking is against the law but like towards the end of the video when you got to Chinatown and you're following that older white man it's obviously common sense to cross there's no cars and it's very minor... Common sense to jaywalk then LOL
