Ah, you're in my heck of the woods now! I do live downtown, and I love being near all the hustle and bustle. I walk out my door and in mere minutes I can grab coffee, or a sandwich, or hop on a streetcar, or go see a movie, or take a stroll along the river and over some cool bridge. I love it! Excellent video. Portland is looking a lot cleaner & safer than it did 3 years ago, when it was getting a lot of national attention for all the crime and homeless.

Omg, I live close to the Portland.
Those water or drinking fountains you see in downtown Portland are called " Benson Bubblers" if I'm not mistaken. Simon Benson donated money to the City of Portland in order to have them installed around the city. the house you showed in your video is where Simon Benson lived.

3rd generation Portlander here, my dad went Benson high school in the ‘50’s. He said the metal shop students made all those original fountains you find all over ptld.

Portland downtown has changed a lot but I still find it fun and vibrant. It’s really different for me to be able to get around by walking and using the max. The homeless/druggie situation is pretty bad but you just have to be careful and watch where you step, and don’t be going around downtown late at night. Thanks for the visit downtown!
Yeah Portland has definitely changed a lot but there are still some cool things to do and see. Yes you have to be careful while in Portland and yes I never walk around at night time! Thank you so much for watching!

I'm from Richmond Va and I want to relocate north of Richmond this video makes me want to visit Portland it has the vibe of the kind of city i want to live in not to fast and not to slow just right i dont want the hustle and bustle of New York but i dont want the slow country pace of Atlanta and Charlotte Portland seems like the perfect city for me how's the cost of living there ?
Yeah Portland is a lot slower than New York for sure. It has its own unique culture. The cost of living in Portland has been going up in the recent years getting kind of expensive. A one bedroom apartment can run you like 1,600-1,800 a month. But I guess prices are rising everywhere. Thank you so much for watching!

But the city does turn the fountain’s on during the summer. I’m new to Oregon but came here and lived downtown for a month during the summer and it is crazy how much more alive Portland is when the sun is out. Drivers here I’m still getting used to.
