I would literally fly to Texas to get relief from this. This stuff is no joke. I have been panicking and I'm a mom of 3 who stays at home and juggling this while caring for them is not easy. Praying for your long term success and would love updates especially when you get your 2nd shot!
I can only imagine being a mom and having to deal with this! I’ll definitely keep everyone updated. I would say I’m about 70% better. Some things are still funky but I can eat it!

The eye droop only lasts a couple seconds and that is how you know the injection was placed in the correct area! It isn’t something to worry about if you are thinking of getting the procedure.
One of the ladies I know since being ill has a slight left eye droop now. She is pregnant. It is alot to consider.
I had Covid twice. Once before the vaccine and once after. The second time I got the virus was October of last year. I lost my sense of smell and taste completely. It is so depressing living with parosmia. I already deal with depression due to chronic pain. I used to have an overly heightened sense of smell. Now it's so fucked up. Coffee, onions, meat ect. all smell and taste horrible. I feel like my parosmia has gotten worse the past few months. I long for the taste of peanut butter and chocolate. I'm going to talk with my pain management doctor and see if he'll be willing to perform the stellate ganglion block. Thank you for sharing you story and spreading awareness. I only needed 1 shot! Some people get two. One on each side of the neck. The cost for me was $500. Insurance does not usually cover this procedure.

Living wit Parosmia has been one of the most stressful thing to go through..1st trying to describe this to anyone is so difficult they all look like your nuts..Trying to describe what your smelling and what you are tasting is all but impossible..Had covid in Dec loss taste and smell.Felt horrible for couple days.This Parosmia I have been dealing with the past 2 months.I didn't say anything for a few weeks cuz I thought it would pass.Then it didn't.I can't smell or eat any meat because it smells so Rotten.Certain Drinks have a nasty out of date rancid taste..I been living on cereal and certain side dishes like noodles fruits couple veggies.Its Depressing, Frustrating and im walking around Hangry because I feel like Im Starving.Praying it lets up or better yet goes away period if your in the same bout im sorry your going through this.Its the worse and I would Gladly invite Covid back to stop this.

Sounds like I’ve been having this issue out of the blue one day I woke up and water and foods have a foul smell and taste hamburger smells the worst the only thing I’ve been able to eat that Dosent taste or smell horrible is cereal and milk everything else smells and taste horrible

I’ve had perosmia for little over 15 months. It is getting much better now. Onions still have a rotten smell and so does coffee, but the coffee taste alright. So I stay away from onions altogether. I still think where I got it from was the Covid test swab.
I was never swabbed and still developed Parosmia. Parosmia happens when a virus (COVID) damages the olfactory nerve.
Damn I need that shot. I've had parosmia since October 2021, started out as anosmia from covid / and has gotten very bad since. I can just about identify 3 flavours: lemon, orange, mint. Any other flavour, especially fruit flavours such as red berries, is awful. Truly tastes like mouldy compost. I miss being able to smell the fresh air, the smell of coffee and tea in the morning... it's no longer an experience for me and losing a sense so important has been an eye opener.
Same it sucks every kind of soap smells so bad and I don't like any fruit and just recently found out salt now tastes terrible and meat too

More tolerable. Hopefully on my way to recovery but still have days it flares up and things get horrible but seems to not last longer than a day or so. My dr treated me for a sinus infection but didn’t help at all. He seemed to not know anything about parosmia.
I can relate! Some days are better than others. I would say I’m about 70% recovered now’

@@Acbro73 it helped my smell a little, but I generally feel way way better. Like a fog/weight lifted from my brain. I was having headaches and tinnitus and terrible fatigue. All greatly improved. Eating is..... less difficult. Not a whole lot better, but some of the worst of it is more tolerable. I was forcing myself to eat before. I still mostly eat my safe foods, but I had some tomato this week and I may have to get used to it, but it is no longer disgusting, even if it doesn't really resemble its old self.

Like 2 weeks ago, i started having weird smell disorder or called phantosmia. It smells like strong peppermint menthol. Im not sick or i dont have covid. Idk how i get it.
Going thru with this right now. Had covid 5 months ago. Lost taste and smell. Came back 7 days later. No big deal. 5 months later, I had eggs and oh my god they tasted horrible. Not rotten but like a moldy chemical smell and taste. Now I smell it in everything and I swear my body is emitting the smell. I put deodorant on and wash my armpits and it still smells. Ugh hope it gets better

@Jacqui B hey, no treatment but it was bad the week I wrote this and slowly getting better. I still won’t touch eggs or onions but if something tastes bad into he first bite, I just eat it and after a minute it tastes totally normal. And I switched deodorants too
I had the same thing with me. My first food was eggs and I thought they tasted different. I had to ask my wife how her eggs tasted and she said they tasted just fine. And then the other foods like onions, peanut butter and coffee were just horrible. I couldn’t be in the house when my wife was cooking. It was just terrible. But it’s getting better after 15 months. It will eventually go away. Have patience.

David Gaskin in Texas! But most Pain Specialist will do the same injection, you don’t have to leave Arizona! I would call around and see if you can find someone.

Lupe Tortilla in College Station! I did not experience any negative side effects and have been completely cured of Parosmia since I got the injection! I’m not sure if it is safe for pregnant women, but I remember the nurse saying something about it’s okay in the first trimester.

I am Suffering from it from past 11 months. I had covid test nor I knw if I had one aa I never got fever anything like that. But in the month of April 2021 i lost my sense of smell and taste completely which came back after few weeks. Later in the month of July 2021 on my dad a Birthday I felt some bad smell. Especially onions, garlic, curry leaves smell awful. My all time fav eggs were also smelling awful and so much so that I do not eat it anymore. And now just recently in the month of March 2022 from 11th day onwards I got tinnitus in my right ear and now i hear ringing sound in my right ear day in amd day out all day and night.

One of the worst triggers is truffle and it's also my favourite ingredient to use...
For about a year i haven't even been able to eat any sort of meat. Meat tastes and smells like sewage. It has also effected garlic, anything grape flavored, eggs, both sesame oil and seeds, and certain spices. I've hung out with people and some of them have taken it as a joke or assume im jst going vegan.
It took months for my sense of smell/taste to return, and now certain things smell like onions or a weird nutty smell to me. Certainly not a severe case, but not enjoyable for sure.
I'm not sure what to do. I don't have the rotten meat smell (awful, glad you are better) but I have strange symptoms. Here are a few of the bigger issues:
Coffee - like cole slaw
Onions - putrid
Coke/Pepsi- weird ash like
Green skittles - melted plastic
Cut grass - burned/rotten
Even these more minor issues are unpleasant. What can I do?

I'm currently suffering from this. Only I "smell" something like mesquite wood burning. I know . Weird. But I just seen a short video of a guy who has no taste no smell for 4 months. Maybe this is what my mom has. She has done chemo and now everything she tries to eat taste like trash. Felt terrible when she was just watching us eat this Christmas.. only thing she gets down is a nutri drink. So she has been drinking 5 bottles of that for over 1 year now.. gonna tell her to try and hold her nose, maybe she get down some food.

It’s so upsetting when people laugh. Parosmia is like amputation. Our sense of good taste and smell has been amputated. If the amputation were visible they wouldn’t laugh.

Onion and garlic is still not the best. They are tolerable but they definitely don’t taste normal.
