I'm currently suffering from this. Only I "smell" something like mesquite wood burning. I know . Weird. But I just seen a short video of a guy who has no taste no smell for 4 months. He was cured when his wife slapped the back of his head. 😮 I tried it I and it works a little bit. I know it sounds crazy but it seems to be working for me for a short while. Hope this helps. Have you fully recovered? It’s been almost 2 years for me and I’ve completely forgotten what everything smells like. I’m from ct so I’m a little ways from any place that does this. I’m just very worried it won’t work after spending so much.

If I'm trying to find the closest doctor possible, what , who do I ask for? so that we can find the right doctor, is there a doctor specifically we need to ask for that specializes in that one thing? we need to take my mother. we seriously need to find something to help her. everything you described, she describes her symptoms we live in California so, I was hoping to do a search for one close by us.

This is my 10th month going through Parosmia.

For about a year i haven't even been able to eat any sort of meat. Meat tastes and smells like sewage. It has also effected garlic, anything grape flavored, eggs, both sesame oil and seeds, and certain spices. I've hung out with people and some of them have taken it as a joke or assume im jst going vegan.

So happy for me. Hope you are free from this illness forever. I smell a chemical smell that is not there. It smells like roach spray even though I have no roach spray in my place and don't use it. I could open the refrigerator, lay on my bed or whatever but mine randomly shows up like someone sprayed a myst of it. I've been vaccinated and I've had COVID. I don't know if this phantom smell is related to COVID or to some other possible illness or non-illness, but it scares me. Btw, after that chemical smell showed up, I can't eat meat. I've mostly been eating salads with only raw veggies. I bought some Tofu, but right now eating a cooked item doesn't appeal to me. It's weird to eat your food and feel like you are siting next a can of raid.

Can you give us an update on your condition? I see you had the procedure 1 year ago. Did the Parosmia return?

Maybe this is what my mom has. She has done chemo and now everything she tries to eat taste like trash. Felt terrible when she was just watching us eat this Christmas.. only thing she gets down is a nutri drink. So she has been drinking 5 bottles of that for over 1 year now.. gonna tell her to try and hold her nose, maybe she get down some food.

Like 2 weeks ago, i started having weird smell disorder or called phantosmia. It smells like strong peppermint menthol. Im not sick or i dont have covid. Idk how i get it.

It took months for my sense of smell/taste to return, and now certain things smell like onions or a weird nutty smell to me. Certainly not a severe case, but not enjoyable for sure.

I'm not sure what to do. I don't have the rotten meat smell (awful, glad you are better) but I have strange symptoms. Here are a few of the bigger issues: Coffee - like cole slaw Onions - putrid Coke/Pepsi- weird ash like Green skittles - melted plastic Cut grass - burned/rotten Even these more minor issues are unpleasant. This isn't a great thing to do guys. Parosmia means your olfactory nerves are damaged. They are tiny and delicate. This procedure is just blocking the nerve signal to set off the bad smells... it's not addressing the actual issue. the only way to help yourself is to see a specialist who can prescribe theophylline spray. Thank you, I thought I was going crazy.. I got covered really bad last August a year ago and probably about 4 months ago my sense of taste and smell changed and I was repulsed by the scent of food.

Oh wow. I am suffering from this for 8 months now. But in holland doctors are awful they don t help you unless your almost dying. :( they won t do this deffinately

Be patience, it goes away, I had it for 6 months and now, I'm completly back to normal, just be patience, you don't gotta do anything, just let God do His thing and have faith, like I did.
