I love my OG Kiwi Elite Strap. Bought on launch and used all of the time since. Unfortunately, the flimsy plastic parts have gotten sun-bleached, so its kinda odd looking now. It still works amazingly, though! I have to admit, though, if I ever buy another strap, it will either be Aubika or BoboVR. The Kiwi Design strap is very bulky compared to them, and honestly, it doesn't add many features.
Alternative to the kiwi battery strap is the kiwi external battery holder and your choice of external battery. Allows for extra batteries if you plan to play for, frankly, way too long. It also goes above the kiwi elite strap adjuster so it shifts the weight slightly off the back of head. Also makes the battery removeable so you can have a lighter setup.
This is my setup! I've had it for a long time now, and it still works really well. The 10k mAh battery I have acts as a countweight and heavily extends my play time.
One year later and people (like me) still come to this video to make the quest 2 the best it can be. The funniest part is a quest 2 with the first three accessories cost less that a quest three :)

If you're looking for a headset, I cannot recommend the Steelseries Arctis nova 7 enough. It's a good bit cheaper than the nova pro, but still has almost all of the functionality you could want. It's a wireless headset that comfortably fits over the quest 2 headstrap. It has a usb C dongle and bluetooth, which you can use simultaneously to connect the headphones to two devices. I have the dongle in my PC while connecting to the Quest 2 via bluetooth, meaning I can hear the quest audio and my PC audio at the same time. Great if you want to use discord or something while playing in VR. You could instead plug the USB C dongle directly into the quest 2 if you can't be bothered setting up bluetooth. This headset is by far one of the best headsets I've ever used, it's my daily headset for use with my PC but I also use it for VR, for listenning to music from my phone while doing chores, or for connecting to the TV when my girlfriend is trying to sleep.
I had the arctis pro wireless a while ago and the headstrap design was awful. The elastic band would stretch over time which meant I'd have to adjust it a lot. Also the headband had a design flaw where it actually connected to the earcups which meant it would break on it's own after a while. I know they fixed the elastic band issue with the nova series but I don't know if they fixed the design flaw with the headband which just completely stopped me from wanting to buy it at all. Before it broke though I loved the headset it had so many features and the battery system was amazing for a wireless headset.
@@GrrumpyPants Possibly, I know for sure it wasn't just me though because back when the arctis pro wireless was their top end headset the steelseries subreddit was filled with posts about broken headsets and they pretty much all broke in exactly the same way. A real shame to be honest because I'd still have that headset today if it still worked, I loved it.
@@NicksKnives. sounds strangely similar to the quest 2 elite straps all breaking in the same way haha. Definitely must have been a design flaw there, but the nova series headsets are different enough in their design that I wouldn't expect it to carry over.

@@aurelionight tbh i think their focus on standalone is a big change to the vr environment overall, since pcvr is so limited with its base-stations and un-portability.
My friend bought Quest 2 in December and won't stop singing its praises. I ended up ordering one myself, would've received it today if the delivery didn't fuck up and ship it to a different city. As for your question, look, i was wondering this myself but alas i've not found enough reason to wait another year for smth like a Quest 3. Quest 2 will be alive for a few more years and for what it's worth, it's the most cost-effective option to get into VR right now. I'm not really worried about the headset, but i am a bit worried about the games. It seems like there're very few actually cool and immersive big games, and of which there are most are sandboxes. It's not like there're no games to get busy with right now though, and there've been promising announcements for the next couple of years, so unless the VR market just randomly completely dies, things will improve on that front.
Yes, it was a very good idea. We don't know when Quest 3 will come out and it probably will be overpriced and Quest 2 will be supported for a few more years. You did not make a mistake. I got my quest over a month ago and I totally don't regret it.

So far The Kiwi elite strap And the quest Link cable. I also picked up a Silicone protector from Kiwi design I chose to buy a bundled one for 29 bucks(idk regular price) but it came with a headset cover Lens cover Controller grips and straps and this is well well worth it as it isn't adhesive so it don't hurt Resale I highly recommend buying these items to begin. I got the Kiwi headset straps as it looked and was and is comfortable as he'll I'm not sure there's anything better for the price and worth the risk This has been proven to work great. I got the silicon covers as Mentioned before I play in a area I cannot extend fully I tap into stuff often due to this when I get really immersed in my game and don't realize I'm not where I need to be These covers are really also for Resale value Keeps them looking great and when I set down my headset I've yet to get a docking station yet(I'd get the Kiwi one or the anker one from the look of Design and functionality Never used or watched reviews Just from a brand standpoint But I tend to set my headset on its front part with the back part aiming at the sky This would ever so slightly scratch the front But this protection kit helps keep it nice and The Controller straps are better then stock and The VR lens cover is a good reminder that your quest will not be dinged up when moving around
Nah I thought stock stuff was fine but after buying some of this my head feels so much better and I get no more headaches and don't drop my controllers. Try them they are the best. 😊
I really regret buying the Kiwi Audio strap, same audio quality as the stock speaker, and now that I have good headphones, they can't fit on the headset because the kiwi ones aren't removable, it is more comfortable than the elite strap so I can't go back to that, also, I have long hair, so whenever I take the headset off it gets tangled in the headphones, nightmare.
Hey, actually you don’t need a quest to head strap I use the normal head strap for 10 days and I’m fine or even more and I’m fine no headaches no migraines no nothing just get used to it. Just get used to it.
only reason i want a battery strap is so i know that i have hcarge left cus i dont wanna end up like ppl you play for 9 hours straight and end up with need for eye help (ps i allready do lol)

If you want an audio upgrade, get the Bobo VR A2
i have the regular kiwi grips and they are prob the best grips ive tried and ive noticed they prob work with quest pro controllers too idk
Thanks I just ordered the kiwi elite strap
Nah I thought stock stuff was fine but after buying some of this my head feels so much better and I get no more headaches and don't drop my controllers. Try them they are the best. 😊
bro i use the quest elite head strap and the surge grips and it is the most comfortable thing ever
The kiwi i know is good but i got the boba vr 2 because its a halo and has a extra like 3 hours with the battery pack you should try it
I really regret buying the Kiwi Audio strap, same audio quality as the stock speaker, and now that I have good headphones, they can't fit on the headset because the kiwi ones aren't removable, it is more comfortable than the elite strap so I can't go back to that, also, I have long hair, so whenever I take the headset off it gets tangled in the headphones, nightmare.
Hey, actually you don’t need a quest to head strap I use the normal head strap for 10 days and I’m fine or even more and I’m fine no headaches no migraines no nothing just get used to it. Just get used to it.
You really called out the Bobo m2.
I literally just bought the kiwi head stap with the headphones
I wouldn't say ''ESSENTIAL'' I would say ''If you want it you get it''.
Great vid!
only reason i want a battery strap is so i know that i have hcarge left cus i dont wanna end up like ppl you play for 9 hours straight and end up with need for eye help (ps i allready do lol)
7:00 or just tape a power bank which is unsafe and potentially dangerous 👍
Watched the video and the kid named felix with a stock quest 2 made me afraid af cuz my names Felix and I use a stock headstrap 😭😭
I still use the stock head strap. I don't get how all vr youtubers just think it is terrible..

If you use the kiwi elete battery they audio-technica ath-m35 head phones fit perfictly if you tuck the tops under the strap
exept for the long freaking cord
