My channel is about VR Content (obviously lol) I've covered many topics on this channel in the past such as PC Building, PC Gaming Knowledge, Gaming News. Pro-tip: Get yourself one of those Keweisi USB charge monitor that has shutdown feature. When Quest finishes charging, it will wait 5 seconds and turn off the power, making the melty charge port situation impossible.

If I had just seen this video before playing my first game in VR, I may have not instantly played echo vr causing my entire body to collapse.

I use it so because it can sometimes let me know how I've oriented myself and let me see various things I may have left in my play area. I've also had this fear that I'd suddenly see someone and I live alone.

why be scared of seeing them with space sense, when they can be there whenever you dont have the space sense on. But you would never know?
@@_g0ldf15h_ Because It’s The difference between not seeing something knowing there’s nothing there or possibly there depending on you wanna take that, versus seeing the outline of a person knowing for a fact there’s no one else there in the room with you, it’s the mentality of it all yeah we could be surrounded by millions of spirits at one time but we don’t see them.
As per 12:04, I seem to match near perfect with 2. I tried 2.5 (mid way) which I thought would work better but it just made it harder to get things lined up.
You explaining these hacks are faster than Mark running towards my house to turn on ad tracking on my phone

adding your desk as a "sofa" gets you in the virtual world when away from the desk and enables passtrough when on it, which is pretty cool when you park your controllers there.
(its reversed to the desk feature)

The icon is earned by "joining" a channel with a paid membership. It provides very few rewards beyond icons, extra emojis, and tools during livestreams and events.

Double tapping the headset to enable/disable passthrough my favorite. All headsets with front facing cameras should have that option. It's perfect for finding my vape.

Quest is 2k per eye, some games have shittier resolutions than others
bro those prescription lenses are gonna come in handy when i get my quest. I tried my friend's quest out and it intrigued me enough to buy my own. I have terrible eyesight to the point where everything looks like Nintendo 64 graphics. I was blown away by the parts of vr that i could actually see, and i to this day am confused on how stuff blurs in the distance like in real life.
pressing the volume button when controllers are inactive will act as the trigger button. that's why there's a little dot when the controllers are not active
I got the vr wave lenses. It's such a massive difference! Worth every penny!
Yes. You can side load any app from the android universe to easily play on the Quest in the States. There is only one issues though, if the developer does a major update once a month like the game TFT (team fight tactics) you will once again have to down the newer version. It will however remember your logins from before you just have to manually update. Last night I was playing the game with a friend. Now if the was only a good PURE source to find your APKs so you can get the official non tampered with game files.

I want to know if the Quest 2 can be overclocked or in some other way be able to locally record smoother without dropping frames in beatsaber and other games.
Sidequest has an overclocking option. Also if you were to lower the texture resolution in Sidequest it might help with dropped frames.

I've been watching all your vids to understand how to use my oculus quest 2 when I get it soon and it real has helped
One solution to the chargers as well is a power pack, I have the vr power pack 2 and got it to extend my battery life, but realized you charge that while it’s plugged into the headset and it charges both of them at the same time, and your charger is going straight to the power pack and not your oculus. I have left it on the charger for long period of times and nothing has gone wrong. Just another solution I found out and you get extra battery life from it so but the vrpower 2 is like 70 dollars so it’s if you want to spend that.

Everytime you plug your charger ..plug the headset end first ..it will avoid damage from arcs ...since your headset is already plug when you plug the wall outlet it wont arc..if you did this everytime..its not an after fix but a preventative fix
You forgot that to do anything via phone to oculus, you need wifi yes, but you also need BLUETOOTH enabled as headset pairs with phone

I just got a Quest 2 for Christmas, after watching videos about bans and how overheating can decrease your battery life I'm scared to use my VR now lol.

4:41 my left thumbstick was drifting from the moment I took it out of the brand new and sealed package. The deadzone calibration helped for the first day, but then it got worse. Now it's nearly unusable and the calibration doesn't help.

Thanks for the great info. I'm super-novice. i have a Gear360 2016 and a Q2. I can get 360 videos to the Q2, but they're distorted in 360 view...any ideas?

Ipd quick hack. Find your finger. Usually your pinky (art stuff) you can slowly wedge you finger in between to get a proper setup as your body is built around the golden mean. ^.^
The charger melting should literally not be happening because once the battery is done charging there should be a smart feature that shuts off charging anyways so that the batteries lifespan is not damaged, a la nintendo switch charging dock style of charging, not only is it dangerous bit it is also hurting battery health from overcharge.

Ya the long hold on the headset it very useful for me as sometimes me headset when i try to turn it off when i go to the menus arnt there so ya i cant use it as i have no option to turn it off and i cant leave the thing so it is very useful
I don’t have to worry about my port melting because I play vr for like an hour in a half. Then plug it in, then an hour later I get back on. The same goes for night but it’s 2 hours and not 1

Me and my brother finally swapped out headsets for the 128gb and the headset I had before was my second quest because I had broken the other one and this one was malfunctioning the first 3 weeks I had it. I got the new headset now and no problems after 2 weeks but my brother 2nd headset he just got is now having the same issues I was having and it happened right as he was playing.

you can also download an apk downloader app from google play. then you just get any app you want and move the file to your computer and side load it

I just ordered a quest 2 and ill mainly use it as a pcvr, i have the original rift atm and its allways plugged into my computer but should I be careful to allways unplug the quest 2 while playing other games to not turn the charging port into a vulcano?

Question - is there a way to turn off the guardian border when looking down? I play MSFS with stationary guardian in my chair, but when I look down on the controls the bright purple guardian totally breaks immersion. :(

hey i need some help, My left controller thumbstick seems to think that im moving it backwards, so in game like zenith, blade and sorcery and VRchat ill just rnadomly move back even tho im not touching it. When i calibrated it i could see that it was infact moving and it just wasnt glitched

The charging port can melt because of magnetic chargers cause when they are plugged off The magnets observe the heat

hey GetHip, i was wondering if there is any way i can change the world scale in vr, cause im pretty tiny lol. everything looks so massive. Just like in SteamVR. I do know that i can get taller using a setting, but it doesnt really change the world scale at all. i really need it.
i think you have to make sure your floor guardian is set correctly, otherwise the quest 2 will think the floor is right at your waist making you a lot shorter, you can remake your guardian and when it asks you to set the floor, put your hands on the ground
It depends on the game really some games in custom settings have a raised view option that will make your character larger. This is why we see 7ft tall nine year olds in Pavlov.

I have a issue with dev mode I did everything I needed to and the headset allows me to mod it as if I was in dev mode but anytime I go into setting to activate something in dev options theres only turn off gaurdian and show usb something

Nobody mentions Yes but you can Also use sidequest on your phone while as long as it's also android device so that you can connect it to your headset so you're able to side load games like that I just wanted to make sure everybody knows cause they don't mention in this video

I keep trying to tell you how but the comment is being deleted.
There is a casting option that shows up when you press the oculus button on the controller. Then in your browser go to the oculus site and add /casting to the address. Maybe by not mentioning the url my comment wont get deleted.

what pains me is that how underrated rookie sideloader is, you can get every single game for free* and like sidequest, the software is free
*theres no multiplayer and some games are in beta, theres no risk of getting banned though.

Can I use a bad laptop to side quest games? Or do I need to have a good laptop/pc?
Ive tried to recalibrate thumb stick drift. The drift made the calibration impossible.
For discord you can just look it up on the oculus browser log in and use discord in the browser no side quest needed that’s what i did since I don’t have a pc
Does the voice chat actually work?
I’m not sure I haven’t tried I would assume it does tho since it’s just the browser version Of discord.
@@oakcobra7814 it's doesn't work BUT I've discovered that you can do voicechat in FB messenger so the audio is way louder and able to hear your party
