I’ve been using both the kiwi head strap and face mask and can vouch for how comfortable it makes the quest. I’d also recommend the anker charging dock as well as it keeps you head strap topped up without overcharging as its apparently an official partner with oculus and gives you rechargeable batteries for the controllers. Also makes a nice display for it as well

The kiwi grip extender actually helps me a lot. Without it my Pinki flaps in the air, my hands are to big for the size of the quest controller and I can't hold it comfortable without it. Giving it a such a low score isn't fare when the product is for people with bigger hands. Is like saying I don't like the XL hoodie because is to big for me, I'm S. different size hoodies different sizes hands.
Personally I use the Elite Strap and I’ve had no problems. If you adjust it correctly so the plastic isn’t flexing too much you should be fine. (Three months in.) So for you all pondering whether or not to buy, look for a retailer with a stock that’s most likely not the old strap, as I received one that was after the “improvements”.

@@tdoyr that’s standard for the default strap…that’s why I investigated alternatives. I went with the kiwi and it’s faultless although I’d get a vented face do-dah also as it’s gets a bit warm with such a great fit
@@tdoyr the stock strap is unusable for over 20 mins, id suggest the kiwi strap or the halo strap (10$ less for the same exact build) it makes it feel like you arent wearing anything, now i can last hours in vr and still feel perfectly fine
Just got the kiwi elite strap, kiwi index style grips/straps, and the kiwi 5-1 facial interface. It's made the experience feel so much more refined. I find myself wanting to upgrade to an index or a vive much less than I did before.
I personally prefer VR Cover accessories, but I'm waiting for my Kiwi Elite Strap, because i think it's superior for some intensive, sporty VR gameplay. Can't wait!
My amazing grandma actually put a custom silk wrap over my VR cover facial interface and it is so comfortable. Got the cover for free too from the whole allergic reaction frenzy that I was sadly affected by.
I actually have the kiwi smaller grips and they are pretty nice I may have just gotten unlucky with them or something because the Velcro did end up detaching some what from the controller so I had to re glue them but other than that they are amazing
Give a BowkStock a try! They're super light, but still really strong. Only downside is that they don't have magnetic cups, but after a few hours of gameplay you don't notice anymore.
Ok, I don’t mean to be like the person in the myth videos. But I have pretty short hair, and I’ve been using the quest 2 for 2 days now and the stock head strap is ok. Like I don’t mind it. And you bet I already put about 5 hours in because I love it, I can definitely deal with the stock head strap so that’s all I have to say. I LOVE my Kiwi extended grips, I think they're so much better than their smaller version, as the smaller version's velcro was so uncomfortable compared to what the extended ones use. The extended ones also feel more premium, and I should mention, I don't even have big hands, my hands are pretty small
ive got the bobovrm2 as my strap and i dont experience any pain anymore. even when playing for hours. also i have the upgraded grips and they are great

I had lots of questions an your vids have been answering so many of them so I had to say thank you!! ***FYI---You may want to add to your videos on this Oculus about how it affects those out there who are disabled an don't leave home much. The VR experience an being able to talk to others online has been a great positive for us who are home bound. I believe more people should be told about this. You being informative would get that message out there. One disabled person who can no longer move from the chest down can explore with VR an chat with others an to them, it's a miracle. Then others like myself who hardly leave home would enjoy the same reasons.for the VR. So thank you!!!!!

That Kiwi headstrap is the only accessory I bought at the same time as my quest and its terrific. Only next thing to get is a vr cover face pad/interface
I know this is gonna sound kinda nitpicky, but I mean this as a legitimately constructive critique, if you're gonna say something along the lines of "The best headstrap I have tried" I think it's important to include a list of the headstraps you have tried, so that people know if the headstrap that they're considering might not have been reviewed by you yet. I know I'm super late to the party here, but one accessory I 110% recommend is the Protective Shell from Rebuff Reality (the same company that makes the VR Power external battery). It's a thick plastic shield that fits very snugly over the front of the Quest headset itself, and is incredibly useful in protecting the headset during games where your hands will generally be close to your face, like Thrill of the Fight. It does not obscure the camera lenses on the headset, so you are not losing any motion tracking at all, and it's actually pretty stylish. The only thing I am not sure about is whether or not the Quest can still fit in most carrying cases because it does make the quest a bit thicker, but I still whole-heartedly recommend this accessory for any Quest user.

I find it’s hard to hit all the buttons with the extended grips and I noticed that when playing pinball fx2 the silicone can work up on the triggers slightly making a flipper engage thus messing up a game. The grips are super comfortable though.
For the magnets on the gun rig, have you tried removing the ones on the rig, screw the bottom magnet onto the rig and screw the controller holder onto the top one after you've gotten the bottom one on there? Might make it easier to separate them that way.
Yeah the short kiwi grips look like the best. Got them coming too. A bit pricey. But since it seems like replacement controllers are almost impossible to get, it's worth it to protect the shit out of them. You gotta buy the halo protectors seperate too. So it was like over $50 for both.

I've had a quest 2 for about 4 ½ months and used the battery elite pack with it for that entire time, due to not having a PC and wanting more playtime for my intense games, and it hasn't broken. It hasn't cracked. It hasn't stopped holding charge. It's still going on strong. I use my headset and the strap at least an hour every day, but a lot more on weekends, up to 8 hours. I'm not super worried about it breaking, yet. The older it gets the more I worry about it and think I might need a new battery extension and strap.
For the gun stock thingy specifically, those can be easily 3d printed and a brand new (low end but perfectly fine) 3d printer costs around 200. So it's best to just buy a printer and then you can make several accessories making it quickly worth the price.
@@YukDuck right.... But like I said it will quickly pay for itself in the items you can make from it. You can make handle extenders or faceplate clips or converters for frankenquest or the stock gun thing. The stand. Basically everything that's made of plastic like material can just be printed. So for the price of 2 stocks, you get a boatload of stuff.
You should really try the Anker Official Quest 2 Charging Dock, it works as a great stand and basically has wireless charging that works faster than the original Quest charging cable
little tip for the magnets if you still have the issue, use a butter knife and make both the magnets and butter knife cold. It's worked for me every time so far but it's just an idea.
Not cheap but hard to beat my Quest 2 setup. 1) Best strap is the *Vive DAS* (super comfortable, solid built-in headphones, has springs for easy peak & venting, and looks awesome if you like black). 2) Get a 3D printed adapter set from Etsy, to mount the deluxe audio strap. 3) I also added the Apache comfort strap (over forehead) & rear battery strap from *studioform creativeVR.* (I used a simple rubber band to keep my 600mAh battery from sliding out). I get over 6 hrs in _Population One_ ☝🏼 4) like most ppl suggest you need the *VR cover* face plate & halo bumpers or Kiwi grips

The Kiwi design elite Strap wont ever break, even tho you said that it bends, they literally advertise with that you can bend it 180 degrees without anything to worry about, its super stable and it bends so much on purpose
I bought the shorter controller straps, didn't own the previous ones, but I can confirm they are awesome and work so good I exclusively use my oculus with them
Another downside for the Kiwi headstrap I would add is that it's a bit difficult to find a fitting- or to just wear a headset over it. They are not needed for the Quest 2, but wearing a headset still gives better sound. But that could also be just me, and it doesn't makes the headstrap bad in any way!
I actually used to have the kiwi elite strap and it might have been something I did wrong but it snapped on the same place that the one that oculus sold, and I ended up having to go back to the default strap. Now I have a quest 3s I’m willing to to give kiwi another chance as I also bought there link cable and have never had trouble with that cable
My elite strap is a year old now and I’ve never had issues with it. To give you some perspective of how much I use my quest 2, I have 110 hours in blade and sorcery alone…
With the magnets that got stuck together, install them anyway. Screw one side into the controller mount, and then screw the controller mount into the magnet mount on the tube, once it's all in place, you should be able to pull them apart, using the extra support of both parts.
I can't believe you didn't mention the BoboVR F2 Active Air Circulation Facial Interface. For folks who workout with the Quest 2 it's a game changer. The fan is an exhaust fan that sucks the moist air out of the headset. I went from having to stop after each song to wipe the fog from my lenses to being able to workout for an hour with no issue. It comes with it's own facial interface. Honestly, I don't care for the pad as much, but it connects with velcro so I was able to get a couple from VR cover that work wonderfully with the interface.

If you do not have a replacement strap for your quest 2 I’d recommend buying the bobovr head strap and if you play for longer I’d recommend getting the bobovr m2 pro (bobovr head strap with a battery pack)
The only thing I’d say about the kiwi strap, if you wear it correctly and set it up correctly it’s AMAZING but if you do it wrong it gets painful so make sure to wear it correct
Glad I got the kiwi design strap, it feels comfortable and is much better than the default one, I just dislike the fact that it felt like it was made out of cheap materials, but it made it up by how good and comfortable it was
The short Kiwi straps are good, but, like with the Index controllers, I’d find the the part of the strap that hangs down sometimes got snagged on things. So I cut off the excess strap, but then they’d come un-Velcroed during use. So now I have them duck taped closed so they can’t come off. And it’s great. I can’t adjust the fit of the strap anymore, but it’s permanently fit to my hands now, so it’s only a problem if I want to let someone else use them. Worst case if they have big hands, they just have to put their hands around the straps.
Have you manged to separate those two magnets yet? If not, instead of directly pulling them apart, have you tried sliding them off each other instead? I find this usually works for me. Excellent content. New subscriber here. Thanks for your reviews.
I've got the elite strap and I personally think it's the most comfortable thing in the world, it's perfectly balanced (as all things should be) so when I've got it on I forget I'm even wearing a headset. It sucks that peeps have had em break and I don't think that'll change since the fragility is just a side effect of the flexibility of the plastic which needs to be that way for the strap to function properly. Everything breaks eventually but if you take care of the strap it can last a good long while and "meta" are really reliable when it comes to replacing stuff even outside of warranty

Okay, I need to address the elite strap. so I have had my elite strap for over 6 months and I love it it. the reason why people's snap is because they take it off wrong you simply pill it off you don't tare it off your face if you do that then it could break.

I nominate BoboVR headstrap. It has everything you want plus the battery packs are removable and replaceable while playing making it possible to never need to charge from the cord. Bad side is the battery packs are proprietary and cost almost as much as the strap alone. I have the standard kiwi grips and they are my 2nd best purchase besides the headstrap and batteries
I’ve been using a kiwi head strap I realise that the Velcro has degraded only after owning it for 3-4 months or maybe bit more but it kinda annoys me because maybe it’s just my one because I’ve seen no one with this problem

You can make handle extenders or faceplate clips or converters for frankenquest or the stock gun thing. The stand. Basically everything that's made of plastic like material can just be printed. So for the price of 2 stocks, you get a boatload of stuff.

You should really try the Anker Official Quest 2 Charging Dock, it works as a great stand and basically has wireless charging that works faster than the original Quest charging cable

little tip for the magnets if you still have the issue, use a butter knife and make both the magnets and butter knife cold. It's worked for me every time so far but it's just an idea.
Not cheap but hard to beat my Quest 2 setup.
1) Best strap is the *Vive DAS* (super comfortable, solid built-in headphones, has springs for easy peak & venting, and looks awesome if you like black).
2) Get a 3D printed adapter set from Etsy, to mount the deluxe audio strap.
3) I also added the Apache comfort strap (over forehead) & rear battery strap from *studioform creativeVR.* (I used a simple rubber band to keep my 600mAh battery from sliding out). I get over 6 hrs in _Population One_ ☝🏼
4) like most ppl suggest you need the *VR cover* face plate & halo bumpers or Kiwi grips
Recently I have gottn myself a quest 2! Obviously fro Chrismas. As I got it, I started watching videos from a variety of creators, but you are the only person I couldn’t ntinued watching. At the moment I don't have have any accessories but this video helped me chose a few accessories I want. Also you are the reason I play echo vr which is amazing BTW. Thank you so much!!
After watching this video, I bought the Kiwi headstrap. I was extremely satisfied when I tried it. Considerably more comfortable than the standard headstrap

The Kiwi design elite Strap wont ever break, even tho you said that it bends, they literally advertise with that you can bend it 180 degrees without anything to worry about, its super stable and it bends so much on purpose
I bought the shorter controller straps, didn't own the previous ones, but I can confirm they are awesome and work so good I exclusively use my oculus with them
Another downside for the Kiwi headstrap I would add is that it's a bit difficult to find a fitting- or to just wear a headset over it. They are not needed for the Quest 2, but wearing a headset still gives better sound. But that could also be just me, and it doesn't makes the headstrap bad in any way!

I actually used to have the kiwi elite strap and it might have been something I did wrong but it snapped on the same place that the one that oculus sold, and I ended up having to go back to the default strap. Now I have a quest 3s I’m willing to to give kiwi another chance as I also bought there link cable and have never had trouble with that cable
What about the Anker charging station? I got it for Christmas with my Oculus and I have to say it’s pretty sweet.
I’ve had my original elite strap for a your now and it has not broken once I believe you just need to take care of it and try not to run into a wall
My elite strap is a year old now and I’ve never had issues with it. To give you some perspective of how much I use my quest 2, I have 110 hours in blade and sorcery alone…
With the magnets that got stuck together, install them anyway.
Screw one side into the controller mount, and then screw the controller mount into the magnet mount on the tube, once it's all in place, you should be able to pull them apart, using the extra support of both parts.
This video convinced me to buy a new kiwi headstrap. Good job

I can't believe you didn't mention the BoboVR F2 Active Air Circulation Facial Interface. For folks who workout with the Quest 2 it's a game changer. The fan is an exhaust fan that sucks the moist air out of the headset. I went from having to stop after each song to wipe the fog from my lenses to being able to workout for an hour with no issue.
It comes with it's own facial interface. Honestly, I don't care for the pad as much, but it connects with velcro so I was able to get a couple from VR cover that work wonderfully with the interface.
have you had any problems with the fan at all or is it really reliable?

Yeah but it lowkey sucks. You need a good strap or a counterweight so it doesn’t put so much force on your cheekbones. At least for me.

The Kiwi Elite Strap won’t break, my Rift S also has a pretty thin thing but after 3 Months of using it it won’t break
screw in the magnet like that and try taking the unscrewed magnets like that, or get one of those hex thread extenders to give you more leverage and unattach them
If you do not have a replacement strap for your quest 2 I’d recommend buying the bobovr head strap and if you play for longer I’d recommend getting the bobovr m2 pro (bobovr head strap with a battery pack)
I just got my kiwi strap in and it’s a huge upgrade along with the VrCover’s facial interface!
The only thing I’d say about the kiwi strap, if you wear it correctly and set it up correctly it’s AMAZING but if you do it wrong it gets painful so make sure to wear it correct
Glad I got the kiwi design strap, it feels comfortable and is much better than the default one, I just dislike the fact that it felt like it was made out of cheap materials, but it made it up by how good and comfortable it was
My quest is coming in about two days. I'm so excited
The short Kiwi straps are good, but, like with the Index controllers, I’d find the the part of the strap that hangs down sometimes got snagged on things. So I cut off the excess strap, but then they’d come un-Velcroed during use. So now I have them duck taped closed so they can’t come off. And it’s great. I can’t adjust the fit of the strap anymore, but it’s permanently fit to my hands now, so it’s only a problem if I want to let someone else use them. Worst case if they have big hands, they just have to put their hands around the straps.
Have you manged to separate those two magnets yet? If not, instead of directly pulling them apart, have you tried sliding them off each other instead? I find this usually works for me.

I really like the Kiwi Elite Strap, so that is probaly my favorite
I've got the elite strap and I personally think it's the most comfortable thing in the world, it's perfectly balanced (as all things should be) so when I've got it on I forget I'm even wearing a headset. It sucks that peeps have had em break and I don't think that'll change since the fragility is just a side effect of the flexibility of the plastic which needs to be that way for the strap to function properly. Everything breaks eventually but if you take care of the strap it can last a good long while and "meta" are really reliable when it comes to replacing stuff even outside of warranty

Okay, I need to address the elite strap. so I have had my elite strap for over 6 months and I love it it. the reason why people's snap is because they take it off wrong you simply pill it off you don't tare it off your face if you do that then it could break.

Getting a oculus quest 2 Friday so this is perfect
I nominate BoboVR headstrap. It has everything you want plus the battery packs are removable and replaceable while playing making it possible to never need to charge from the cord. Bad side is the battery packs are proprietary and cost almost as much as the strap alone. I have the standard kiwi grips and they are my 2nd best purchase besides the headstrap and batteries

I’ve been using a kiwi head strap I realise that the Velcro has degraded only after owning it for 3-4 months or maybe bit more but it kinda annoys me because maybe it’s just my one because I’ve seen no one with this problem

That stock is a stick with magnets on it. With 20 dallars, some motivation and a trip to home depot you could have the same thing for way way cheaper.
