I love how whenever a weak pokemon like oddish or pidgey is sent out the narrator says "Oh! It's a , like he was hyped up for a strong pokemon like alakazam or snorlax but is immediately disappointed by the rattata or spearow that was just sent out
Man, the announcer in this game is legendary. I really hope another game like this one is made some day, or at least a genuinely hype dureing-play announcer pops up.
the announcer will never be this good again. for some reason they told him to be full of energy and over the top. usually now a days they are more strict about them and won't be so fun.
I remember getting Dodrio Tower and playing the game at triple speed. Leveling was so easy. It was like the hyperbolic time chamber of pokemon. Also, 1:31 is hilarious. So much intensity in "taken."
Also having not seen this game for well over a decade, it amazed me how familiar all the Pokemon animations (such as Raichu's tail sticking straight up on KO or Magnemite falling apart on KO) are to me.
Back when One Hit KO moves relied on the speed of the user, considering the Diglett and Ponyta evolutionary lines have high speed stats, making their Fissure and Horn Drill be deadly against any Pokemon who's not a flying or ghost type, respectively.
Can we talk about how much I LOVE these commentators (This game and Battle Revolution) and their ability to make even the most mundane thing sound exciting?
Man... makes me want to play Stadium again. Once you get to the advanced cups of Round 2, it actually starts to resemble the gen 1 meta as we know it. Fun stuff.
Rival: Seriously, you're using a Diglett against my mighty team? What a loser! -- *three turns later* -- Rival: I can't believe I lost to such a tiny Pokemon... *Grumbles*
It's always baffled me of the in-universe logic of some Pokémon. Farfetch'd, for example; that leek is PART OF HIM even though it's not physically attached, disappearing when you defeat it. How the fuck?
I guess Pokemon Keepsakes that are really attached to them, emotionally speaking of course, get into the PokeBall too, or ones that they need, like Spoink's Pearl on it's head, or Dweeble's Shell
Never in my life have I ever imagined it would be possible to absolutely SPANK one of the cheapest, most bullshit single-player campaigns in Pokemon history.
I remember all the grief this thing gave me back in the day, all just for the sake of getting some free Pokemon for your RBY gen 1 games. Good Lord it's still bullshit even to this day.
Also, I miss this game, this mini-series; we only got two entries, with Battle Revolution being an inferior unofficial entry that didn't even get any updates for Platinum. This is much better than the incomplete shite we've gotten in the last two years, that's for sure.
Ibuki Mioda Well unless you have a shit computer, there is no reason for you to not play this game. Even an old low-ended android phone can run a N64 emulator and pokemon stadium 1 and 2.
Jack Hazardous- Really? I tried to tool assist on Pokémon Stadium 2 several years ago, but the randomizers were always decided before each turn even began.
I remember I could never beat Sabrina when I played this as a kid because of the Burglar, he would always pick Rapidash and would always land the Horn Drill. It wasn't until I got older I ended up just picking Starmie and was able to outspeed and OHKO it
I love Tas's AI, it cares if the attacks are not accurate, as the game is programmed is if your Pokémon is faster, always critical and Ohko's attacks, always hit, it's very cheater
Why is the Graphics Disappearing? Is it an Emulator Bug? Edit: Also Watching a bit MORE of the TAS I noticed that after the first battle some of the Pokémon’s Sprites Were Bugged. OBVIOUSLY Diglet shows this to you. Edit 2: #digletbuggedsprite
We're hearing a lot of the same stuff from the announcer because of TAS. XD (Also "we might be in for a one sided affair") True dat, this is almost unfair.
"Tool Assisted SpeedRun" (Velocidad asistida por herramienta) Nota: Hacer eso en un Juego Online tendras una condena de por vida es decir q te pueden Banear Permanentemente
When UA-cam removes your video for copyright:
"TAKEN DOWN ON THE WORD GO!"
Same with Facebook comments these days as well LMFAO
"This is a fight between two types of pokemon!"
top commentary.
'There is a difference in the number of reserve pokemon!'
hoIyforks i think the commentator was possessed. Or on drugs
"There's a difference between the number of pokemon."
"The battle has become one sided."
"Taken down with one hit!!"
I love how whenever a weak pokemon like oddish or pidgey is sent out the narrator says "Oh! It's a , like he was hyped up for a strong pokemon like alakazam or snorlax but is immediately disappointed by the rattata or spearow that was just sent out
FYI: There is a difference in the number of reserve pokemon
Also, the Pokémon are of entirely different types.
I wonder if the TASers used RNG manipulation _specifically_ to get *TAKEN DOWN ON THE WORD GO* happen as _often_ as possible
It was manipulated from the word go so that he'd repeat the line from the word go.
This is a line that only happens if you get a KO immediately in the first turn, so of course it would happen a lot in a TAS
Man, the announcer in this game is legendary. I really hope another game like this one is made some day, or at least a genuinely hype dureing-play announcer pops up.
Chances are 0.1% unless the Pokemon Comoany decides to hand it over to another dev like they did New Pokemon Snap.
I hope so too. A new stadium would be an awesome opportunity to make people more happy after Dexit, cause as a long time fan, dexit hurts my soul.
the announcer will never be this good again. for some reason they told him to be full of energy and over the top. usually now a days they are more strict about them and won't be so fun.
this TAS was great from the word go!
Your comment was go from the go go!
but was it taken down on the word go?
@@TheUltimateRare Either way it was a wild one from the word go.
Is incredible a game launched almost 20 years ago have something most modern pokemon games don't have: voice acting.
And good animations
"Fissure has 30% accuracy."
TASbot: "Oh really?"
Or TASbot: I don't have such weakness!
I remember getting Dodrio Tower and playing the game at triple speed. Leveling was so easy. It was like the hyperbolic time chamber of pokemon.
Also, 1:31 is hilarious. So much intensity in "taken."
tAken down in one hit!
I’m kinda salty cause I have to do it in real time on 3ds
Diglett: *attacks*
*creates black hole around self*
Diglett: attacks
Universe around it: collapses
There's something oddly charming about hearing the voice announcer's voice crack from the hype of seeing an OHKO.
THIS IS A FIGHT BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF POKEMON
Wow! TAKEN DOWN with ONE HIT!
Taken down on the word go!
OH it's a One Hit WONDER!
"And there goes the battle!"
I forgot how hype the announcer is
For real! I hope they got paid well for it.
Yea, I never really appreciated it when I was young but my god that dude would have had me hype if I actually knew what I was doing
I wish more games had guys like this.
Based
Also having not seen this game for well over a decade, it amazed me how familiar all the Pokemon animations (such as Raichu's tail sticking straight up on KO or Magnemite falling apart on KO) are to me.

You're thinking of critical hits.
sharktamer
Oh. That too. Criticals were, also, speed dependant in 1st Gen.
OHKO moves only worked on mon that were slower than the user. Didn't affect the hit rate.
JuacoProductionsX jv乛
@@sharktamer no, they did get effected by speed for accuracy in later gems it's based on the level difference.
Can we talk about how much I LOVE these commentators (This game and Battle Revolution) and their ability to make even the most mundane thing sound exciting?
Awesome. Can't wait for Pokemon Stadium 2 TAS.
nicknaming a mr. mime "MR. -MIME". brilliant!
The real thinker is naming Primeape 'primeape' - I hope whoever did the naming got a promotion after this game came out.
Don't ask why but I find hearing the thuds when a pokemon faints helps give the sense this guy is a heavy pokemon.
that announcer is still a champ
All of that work for a Squirtle.
**GOOOONE, IT'S A ONE-HIT WONDER!!!!**
Man... makes me want to play Stadium again. Once you get to the advanced cups of Round 2, it actually starts to resemble the gen 1 meta as we know it. Fun stuff.
43:42 This announcer had a hard on for the word, "Go"
MNCpoops I don’t get it. What do you mean?
@DJ Incendration the announcer said the word "go" 3 times.
5:02-5:04 "NO! This pokemon looks wrong!"
Yeah, that's what he said about Diglett....
Also, WHY THE HELL DOES JYNX HAVE A WEAVE?!??!? I MEAN LOOK AT IT TWIRL!!!
Rival: Seriously, you're using a Diglett against my mighty team? What a loser!
-- *three turns later* --
Rival: I can't believe I lost to such a tiny Pokemon... *Grumbles*
Every Super-Critical-One-Hit-KO:
"EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!! VERY EFFECTIVE!!!"
I miss this game so much, I have it but it doesn't work anymore. Praying another Stadium game like this for Nintendo Switch.
It’s only bullshit if you have to use rentals. It’s actually quite playable if you use the transfer pak. I wish I knew that as a kid though
I like how all the pokemon that the trainers use are mostly shiny before they was even a thing.
Pokémon with nicknames get a different color :b
HRCFre4k If only it was that easy today pokémon games. XmX
Pre-censor Jynx is terrifying.
(Because is Nicki Minaj's true form)
Why didnt they just change the lips
Mr. Popo in drag, yo.
She's a mammy
It's a double-reference to the Baba Yaga creature and Ganguro Kogal fashion.
"WAAH! Taken down with one hit!"
A relative of Waluigi, perhaps?
Joshua S.G.G. he's waluigi before becoming waluigi
Also, I miss this game, this mini-series; we only got two entries, with Battle Revolution being an inferior unofficial entry that didn't even get any updates for Platinum. This is much better than the incomplete shite we've gotten in the last two years, that's for sure.
Given how Movesets of rental pokémon were real SHIT back then... If only N64 emulation worked perfectly I'd be tackling this game with mucho gusto.
Ibuki Mioda Well unless you have a shit computer, there is no reason for you to not play this game. Even an old low-ended android phone can run a N64 emulator and pokemon stadium 1 and 2.
A year late, but whatever. It's not about performance. Some roms on N64 have graphical errors, which can ruin immersion for players.
Nice TAS Bro. !!!
# T A K E N D O W N O N T H E W O R D G O
just curious who in the freaking world has a level 50 metapod and why did Nintendo put it in the game just what were they thinking lol
...How does Ponyta use Horn Drill, when only Rapidash has such an appendage?
It's using other type of horn~
The first hint drops of Pokemon Go development clearly
The Word Go would like to know your location
7:05 what was that noise cubone made
0:40 the only time you picked faster than the bots within the game.
The speed at which the lineup is chosen varies so much throughout the TAS because it dictates the team that the opponent chooses.
Maple set tory
inb4 the new ACE strat completely depreciates this run
ACE implies using the transfer pack though, this run is rentals-only.
22:28 ah it's nice to know that diglett is actually a black guy that burrows underground
When you shoot your shot at your crush....
"TAKEN DOWN ON THE WORD GO!"
THIS IS A WILD ONE FROM THE WORD GO
Can y'all imagine Jr Jerry Lawler as a commentary for this game.. Bawy gawd it goes down with one hit!!!!
I wonder if a tas of complete the game could be sub 13 hours.
No this Pokémon looks wrong
Whaaa taking down with one hit
What are some strategies to manipulate luck/RNG in Stadium and Stadium 2?
save and reload repeatedly
Jack Hazardous- Really? I tried to tool assist on Pokémon Stadium 2 several years ago, but the randomizers were always decided before each turn even began.
can there be one for Stadium 2, Round 2?
*RIDE THAT SURF!*
Man i've missed these pokemon cries
"That was brutal!!"
SAVAGE ATTACK
We might be in for a one sided affair
Ride that Surf !!
This is like if Perd Hapley was a Pokemon announcer.
i like how they are frame perfectly inserting their team order when you have to wait for the AI to be ready anyway LOL.
I remember I could never beat Sabrina when I played this as a kid because of the Burglar, he would always pick Rapidash and would always land the Horn Drill. It wasn't until I got older I ended up just picking Starmie and was able to outspeed and OHKO it
I always wondered why Jon would go "OH IT'S (X)"
DIGLETT AT 16:57 WTF?!
19:41 Is that a shiny?!!
Pokemon Stadium had alternate colors for Pokemon depending on their name (# of characters, caps, etc).
I love Tas's AI, it cares if the attacks are not accurate, as the game is programmed is if your Pokémon is faster, always critical and Ohko's attacks, always hit, it's very cheater
Random Crits are fair and balanced!
6:10 "brocks rock hard peen"
Jorji TEAM!!!
Nah, totally peen
I like the part where the guys pokemon one shot the other guys pokemon.
u won a squirtle? *REALLY????*
Wow!
One hit wonder!
Anyone else feel weird seeing games you played till your fingers bled as a kid on og hardware having a bunch of emulation errors or is it just me?
Why is the Graphics Disappearing? Is it an Emulator Bug?
Edit: Also Watching a bit MORE of the TAS I noticed that after the first battle some of the Pokémon’s Sprites Were Bugged. OBVIOUSLY Diglet shows this to you.

Is diglett ok?
He's ok, he's just have a texture issue
What's up with a the graphical glitching?
bad emulation
there's a difference in the number of reserve pokemon
"Digster? More like...HIPSTER!!!
(What has quarantine done to me?)
The voice of the annoncer in French > all
Make any battle so funny
I know right ? This guy made my childhood.
And the spanish one? All the announcers in this game are perfects
DANS LES DENTS!
Holy RNGesus!
POKE KAY MON
We all live in the Pokemon world POKE KAY MON that's my favorite theme of the series!
This gameplay could be more interesting in the R2 mode.
2:04 Diglett feeling all right there buddy?
He's ok, he's just have a texture issue
1:44 shiny kakuna
Now I remember why I turned off that large ham.
Why does Jolteon have subtle fuck me eyes
Osama vin Ditto
SHENANIGANS!
Qué significa "TAS"???
"Tool Assisted SpeedRun" (Velocidad asistida por herramienta)

1:09:24
"Diglett" was rocking a "Coogi" outfit and he went Muslim because he didn't want to be violent anymore. 🎥💪🏾😁🤣🎬⌚
Now I remember why turned the announcer off when I played this.
You can do that?
Also, WHY!?
borot man The world may never know, probably.
Blue: "How were you able to conquer this castle so easily!?!"
The TASers: "Nanomachines, son!"
It sounds like gonvoni voice
Diglett
...Would it be nice if we can shut the commentator up in the options menu? Then, all we can hear are the SFX and BGMs
Whoa looks like a bad Pokémon choice
How did you record your n64
This is played and recorded using an emulator, not an actual N64 console hooked to a recording device.
If it would, then it would be harder to TAS it, if you want to do *that*, ask twitter.com/MrTASBot for assistance
Well... that's exactly what I thought it would be
Pokemah
Down that didn't take much
