Story mode was well designed and organized. Watching this brings warmth to my heart again.

Has anyone noticed that Morgan's tone changes when he talks about impressing Lizzie? I always found it funny in a way, as he always talks in a serious manner.
And I see they made a lot of changes like Kanyenke's name, Chayton's campaing, among others.
Yeah, there were some errors when they selected names for some characters where the words were words for places rather than people. They got a lot of help from experts this time around to fix some of the inaccuracies, which is pretty cool. I love that they make an effort for better historical and cultural accuracy~
After re-hearing this again, I think that old coot was sir Morgan black isn't he :v? He might have accidentally drink the fountain of youth. Anyway love the video and bring back the nostalgia -v-

Idk, I prefer the original ending to Chayton's campaign on which he goes missing after Little Big Horn but it is implied he settled west and had a family. I think it was better

Man, I am so sad that Microsoft decided to just make AoE 2 part 2 instead of pushing the series forward. I love this campaign. It wasnt historically accurate what-so-ever, but god it was entertaining. So much better than the several hours of History channel documentary that was shoved into the AoE4 campaign.
I really wanted that bit where we would've had a modern and even sci-fi nations, that were hinted in the back of the box of the series. I wanted that so badly.
I personally liked the mix they did in aoe 2, instead of being completely historical accurate or being completely made up they gave genghis khan, william of normandy, robert guiscard, william wallace and other characters, a voice, a story. I would have loved the dialogue that makes this campaigns have CHARACTER.
Well. AOE3 ended in late 1800s. There is no Empires after that era.
@@sans8995 not empires with the title of EMPIRE but I would argue that the Soviet Union and the US were pretty Imperialistic in the spread of both capitalism and communism and raced towards world domination

I'm just an Age of Mythology player, never played with this game.... but it Looks Cool, and I'm glad that Reginlief and Our True Hero, Arkantos returned as voices :)
I can't bear how inconcivably better this looks when compared to AoE4.

Ottomans were rising in the time of the colonial empires. They only declined after the battle of Vienna.
They also removed Stuart's head on a pike.
For me as a kid, that head on a pike was a “oh crap” moment. These guys aren’t playing around. Gave me the motivation to get through the chase through the west.
At least Microsoft and other teams did better job at remastering old AoE than Blizzard fucking up their job at WC3
I still to this day cannot comprehend how they managed to fuck WC3R up that badly.
Why did they change Chayton's story a ridiculous amount? It wasn't necessary.

They cut out John saying Nonahkee's name. Anybody know why?
I assume, though don't know for sure, that Nonahkee was a faux-native name (like, no actual native person would have been named that). In keeping with their other changes to make the game more consistent with real indigenous traditions (e.g. Iroquois to Haudenosaunee, Kanyenke to Ká:nien), I guess they deleted it, though it feels like they could've given her an actual name instead.

This remastering definitely had some good and bad aspects.
Graphic-wise, this is definitely a major improvement -- though I am still not going to complain about the cartoonish looks of the vanilla original, since it is a style in itself.
On the other hand, some of the shots were better in the original -- such as Morgan Black looking down at the Fountain of Youth with the water's reflection, as opposed to the modern bird's eye view.
Quite often, the facial expressions and body movements seemed a little off, and in a few cases these characters would close their eyes too much -- such as Sahin the Falcon in the last cut scene.
Did anybody else notice the constant glitches in these clips?

So what was John Black's plan? Like he's got that dynamite plunger set up, but he doesn't have any more cord to run it out further. He's just got that tiny little hillock to protect him. Literally he was about to blow himself up. He's lucky Warwick showed up because otherwise he was about to make himself look like a real idiot.
Presumably, this was a suicide mission intended to bring down the mountain on the Russian convoy as intended.
Warwick was merely there to stop him from going through with the action.
Washington’s voice actor definitely voiced for Arkantos
The Chayton Black new dialogue was a bummer. Too much unnecessary virtue signaling. The first cutscenes were far better and meaningful.
Let's be honest Chayton was always the worst family member with the worst campaign as well.

@Griff Oneca Came out of nowhere? Confronting Holmes for committing his atrocity while he trying to negotiate peace. Told to slaughter a Indian Village and he refused. Even when he was talking to his mother, you could tell that he was slowly getting more uncomfortable with his situation.

Im wondering if anyone realized that Old Coot sounded awfully familiar?for example that you broke the circle and in just one lifetime too?that too was awfully familiar with how Morgan Black pronounced it because if you remember hes Scottish and that Scottish accent was there and he knew about that Ossus Cirlce and if you remember on that last fight with Morgan Black near the fountain of youth and his canteen was clearly empty and he filled his canteen with that water from the lake which was clearly connected to that fountain of youth
Strange. Why did they make new dialogues with new voice actors in Chayton Black's campaign?
Native Americans complained about how they didn't have permission from Crazy Horse so they had to replace him with "Uncle Frank"
Also the last game made Custer seem a little more fair but the remake makes him a lot more of a villain.
"Uncle Kanyenke said we shouldn't profit from the cult's blood money, but most of the gold came from those Spanish treasure ships Morgan and Lizzie sank."

what a joke of a remaster, while the graphics are prettier, some in game cutscenes are bugged out or missing and the cinematography and camera angles of the cgi cutscenes is also less interesting and the facial expressions awful. Plus that ugly UI and all the copycats they did from the Wars of Liberty mod, just a shame. If it ever happens, am really scared of how a Age of Mythology DE might turn out now at this point...And Fire and Steel...they just butchered it.
They did have people from Wars of Liberty and Napoleonic Era on the team when they did this, so it's likely it wasn't a steal.

Yes, and on a couple of other places too. It glitched on multiple cutscenes.
Some of the cutscene videos are all messed up for me, not sure why (AOE3 DE, PC, Xbox app). Looks like they're badly encoded? (Massive artifacts, perhaps from over-compression, unwatchable, specifically end of Campaign 1 Act 2). So anyway I'm watching a few here, thanks.
