Motorcycle Riding on Ice (UK)

An extremely cold snap forces me to ride to University in very unsavoury conditions. I have a few close calls, and every time I think things can't get any worse - they do!

I had to drive 10miles in pretty much black ice conditions to collect something for work. Drove 25mph on a 40 the whole way not to risk a crash. Rc125 aswell

same for every shift lol, he's a bit jerky. my guess is a light bike with a small motor? i doubt you could get away with this on a heavier bike.

I'm afraid I didn't find anything clever or funny in this, a completely unnecessary risk. Stay at home or take the bus fella, getting mangled under a truck's wheels is never fun.

Have you ever rode a motorcycle? not everyone can just get the bus where I live buses don’t run in early morning so if you have a night shift job and only a motorcycle and it’s abit icy what do you do just sit at home and get sick pay? If you ride sensibly it is no problem to ride in the ice just know your bike the power your lean angle and speed and you won’t have a problem no risk to those who can ride 👌

@@bikerlad3138 Yeah, I've ridden for years. Your point would stand if his third sentence wasn't "I should take the bus". Managing your power and lean angle counts for exactly nothing if you hit a patch of black ice while being cut up by a moron with bald tyres. If you genuinely think riding in snow and ice in unnecessary circumstances such as the one shown here is 'fine' then I don't think young riders such as this lad have anything to learn from you.

Yeah its apparently gonna be icey and snowing here in wakefield area so fuck risking it ill put bike away and take bus for a month until the ice and snow go away a little
