note that he's left the E string open with the capo 2 to get that pedal E on the bass string, sounds great. Also the vocal is better in E (not the original D)
Constantly baffled that the camera operator can't just leave it on a nice 3/4 shot of the artist, they have to get "artsy" at everyone's expense. Just leave it ALONE!
@@hterrebrood I love that too! He loves an oul G to C chord change! Have you ever tried to play this with the capo on on only 5 strings? When Steve does it it sounds awesome..me..not so much 🤷♂️
Standard tuning, But Capo only on 5 strings. Played in in D it has a dropped D sound but you can still play G in regular position. Pretty cool effect. I saw Guy Clark doing it live once - Blew my mind! Years ago.
This song is actually a funny song! His grandfather and uncle bought a truck to run the whiskey that used to belong to the Johnson’s Sherif Department😂😂...not to mention, his grandfather killed the tax man!💃🕺🏽🍿👍😂😴🇨🇦 and then, he come back from 2nd tour of duty in Vietnam War and fools the DEA👍
He was only locked up for a few months, and one of those was rehab. Getting locked up is what helped him get clean, and he says it saved his life. Sounds pretty kind to me.
Great song I remember it well. But father time has caught up with Steve just like it does everybody else
Steve is a talented dude
That song brings a tear to my eye.
Brilliance,, he makes that guitar sound better than a full orchestra while blowing everyone away withe even better vocals
Great song, great writer and performer.

You were waiting to see the G slid into a C using only his index and middle finger(ring and pinky unmoved) with a hammer on weren't you?

They just don’t write country music like this anymore
