I was getting the "too close to a cliff" error and/or the robot was just spinning in circles. I cleaned all the sensors on the bottom to no avail. It seemed like problem was within the bumper - and your video showed me the trick to taking it apart! Sure enough, there are many other sensors underneath the bumper and the bumper itself has an inner plastic surface those sensors apparently reflect against and/or shine through. After a thorough cleaning and reassembly, the vacuum is working perfectly again! Thank you for posting this video!
I'll have to try that. My Shark is giving me that error after it took on dog poop and I cleaned it the best possible without tearing it down completely. Thank you both for the info. I called customer support with zero support on how to fix, they just wanted to sell me another one for a percentage off!
@@WarHoss Mine got into trouble after he tried to clean up after my cat had misfired in the bathroom. He's been working fine ever since I cleaned those under-bumper sensors, so I hope you'll be successful in cleaning yours too.
You are awesome! Woke up to the aftermath of my dog getting sick on our lux vinyl floor. To add insult to injury, our self emptying Shark vac that had not only spread it everywhere but was just caked with... stuff. I really contemplated tossing it in the trash. Thanks to your video, I was able to disassemble the whole thing, clean it, and save it to fight another day.
Hello. My 2 in 1 ran over dog poop I have cleaned it pretty much but I cannot take the wheels off to clean out the wheel wells. Can you help me out. This video showed how to take it apart but I don’t want to sell it for parts. I just want it cleaned so I can use it.
Hello, our 1001 series with vacuum keeps saying check under ... error #2. We can't find anything wrong, both outside brushes work smoothly. Any idea what could be the issue?? Thank You, Also we bought from Amazon this past November. Will you Please advise warranty info!!
Ill Tell you what just happened to me. After taking apart front wheel, brushroll, side brushes, and of course cleaning the bin and laser areas. I decided to watch this video to take the whole thing apart. When I held it up vertically to take out dust bin (which I had done several times), a candy wrapper fell out of that area.??? Not sure where it was hiding, but now its fine... crazy... also, Thank you Smitty for your videos!! They really help!
Same here. Weird thing is that the app said call customer support. They went through almost nothing in terms of "troubleshooting" and said almost immediately, we're gonna send you replacement parts. It's gonna be 2-3 weeks because of backorder. We'll give you the parts for free but you have to pay shipping. All I said was, "wait, huh? Are you sure thats necessary? I don't want to pay shipping and this thing can't be unfixable." The girl said "I just spoke with my supervisor and they said we'll waive the shipping charge." (Which she never even put me on hold so I'm pretty sure she didn't ask her boss!) I'm like, well ok, thanks. Not even kidding! 3 days later I got a package from Shark with an ENTIRE NEW Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL in the box! The entire thing just like I originally purchased. So now I have 2! I refuse to believe that Shark #1 is unsalvageable. It was less than a month old and had only been used maybe 4 times. I hadn't bought the extended warranty. Hell, I hadn't even completed the online registration! I dont know how this company is going to stay in business. I've been watching several of these Smitty's World videos. Love them, BTW! Hoping I can just tear it down like this video demonstrates, dust off the insides, and put it back together. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the excellent videos, man. P.S. Oh, yeah, they said dont worry about sending the other one back. Just throw it away when you get the new one!
@@mahooten68 I had the same thing happen to robot kept giving me the obstruction error, after going through all the pointless steps they sent me a brand new robot in the box.... for $25 shipping cost. After further inspection on my own I found out the main brush roll I bought on amazon was not compatable to my robot like it said once I bought a new brush through SHARK the robot worked perfectly! So then I had 2 working robots....until the cat decided the robot HAD TO DIE and released the robot off the dock which lead our vaccuum ramming itself into one of our lounge chairs and ended up wedged in between the metal bar :( I called shark again but they told me you are only allowed 1 FREE NEW REPLACEMENT. Hello larry miller i also got that message first make sure there are no hairs on the side of the brush roller when you take it out make sure all sensors are clean and if not it could be a problen with the brushes and wheels mine said the same message as you and on the app it told me it was something with the drive whell so you might want to check that out. Hopefully that helps
I have this same model robot that was replacing the wheel motor, had an issue. I am hoping you can help me with. There is a metal wedge, looking piece about 2 inches long that came out when I was trying to reassemble it, I have no idea where it came from or how to put it back in… Do you know what this part is?
Hey Smitty I have the same model vacuum robot that you are working on in this video can you tell me is there a way to check to see if the rotary brush is working without taking it apart
I have a rv1001ae which has been working ok until it stopped no power, no alert) during a cleaning cycle (ran for at least 20 minutes) with a bunch of non-cleared serif underneath. I cleaned it out . Shortly after backing from the charging station or within a few minutes, it simply powers off or powers off and sometimes reboots but fails immediately afterwards again. I cleaned the visible sensors, found a piece of a leaf in a wheel well sensor area but nothing else I could find. What could this be? It never gives any errors, just dies. Thank you!
My Shark, exactly like you're tearing down in this video ran over a dog turn. cleaned it the best we could. Do the sensors need to be replaced? I'm going to tear it do2wn to clean the inside by the sensors
I have a RV 1100 s r u s throwing a error code number 2 I tore the whole thing apart and cleaned everything and put it back together and it's throwing the same code any suggestions
Hello, Thanks for posting these videos on a seemingly mundane subject but are very helpful. I have a Shark Robot Vacuum Model UR1100S1US. I purchased it used, the problem it has is that it gives an Obstruction error (error #2) as soon as it tries to move upon pressing the "Clean" button, the only movement that occurs is that it gives a slight jolt as if trying to turn and then the error comes up. I have disassembled it and cleaned out all the hair and dust in the wheel wells, the brush roll and the brush roll endcaps, cleaned the sensors, changed the filters etc.. I have also taken apart the wheels to inspect the gears and the rotation of the wheels and everything is fine. I have also attempted to see if the error goes away when I attempt to have it clean without the roller brush but it still gives the same error. I also replaced the main brush motor Any ideas?? I would appreciate your input.
On a shark rv900 series is there a sensor that tells it when the dust bin is installed. Even with the bin installed I constantly get error 9 saying it isn’t. Thanks
does the battery connector assy come out and can I get one. mine fell apart when I removed the battery. obviously I didn't depress the connector far enough and now I have a loos pin.
So I'm having problems with it being able to charge changed the battery already started working but I'm noticing the metal on the bottom isn't hitting the chase port trying to get to them and bend them out a bit
Hey Smitty, I have a RV1501 model and it won't power on! Some water may have been dropped on the side of it...not sure which side...I am hoping there is a fuse on this model, any idea where it would be located or do you have any other suggestions? Thx
RV2500AE - my stupid dog peed on it and now it says error 7 cliff sensor- I have cleaned the sensors f try on outside but still saying error 7. Should I take it apart and trying cleaning or do you think my vac is toast?
Omg how do you take these wheels off?? I have all 5 screws out and this thing is stuck good. 20 mins of trying and all I have are pry marks. Is there a trick to this??
I'm not sure if this is my problem, but I'm getting Error #2 saying to remove an obstruction under the robot. I just got this thing brand new in December 2020, so I can't believe it is broken already. I've looked it up and the "hacks" are all about the spinner brushes. Could it be that just my spinner motors are bad? Your videos are super helpful and I'm confident enough in my tear down abilities to take this apart and get to the motors, but what I'm wondering is if lubricating the motors might solve the issue, or if I just need to buy new ones. I really don't see any issues with the spinner brushes spinning, but I can't figure out where this 'obstruction' would be at otherwise. Any advice? Thanks for the great videos, man!
If you call shark they will replace it with a new one.... but if your like me and buy the replacement brushes online on amazon they arent compatable like they say and the yellow flaps that pick up the dust is creating the obstruction. Your best bet is to buy them through Shark....once I replaced the brush the robot went back to working normally!
My problem is very similar also man. My main roller brush isn't spinning and mine's a self emptying one that I bought about a year ago. When I turn it on, I can see both side brushes spinning if I walk in front of it, just for a couple feet then error 2 goes off. I tore this thing all the way down last night and cleaned it all out and tried tapping on the roller brush motor and spun the little fan thing like what in the groove on an alternator and then put everything back together and it still doing the same thing. I guess they just had a run of bad motors or the little belt inside the housing broke. We should all call shark and tell them it happened to us all and we should all get new vacuums.
I have the shark Rv1001ae. The side brushes wiggle on and off because of a small metal clip that is screwed on. Unfortunately I unscrewed this part before I knew the brushes just snapped off and lost the metal clip. Any remedy for this?
I have a 1001ae and I can't get lights to come on at all. It flat out stopped working. Any suggestions besides buy a new one? I bought and replaced the battery so I know the battery is good.
I have similar model, but it's the self emptying. I keep getting a debris stuck in parts error. I took it all apart and cleaned a lot of hair and dust from the roller brush and side brushes as well as a clump of dust from under one of the wheel motors and I still get the error. One of the brushes spins a bit less freely than the other. I'm thinking that one of the brush motors is failing and causing the error. Shark tech said that the side brush motors are not serviceable, and the model is disconnected. I think it's b.s. that they don't make the brush motor easy to change out like I did one time with a Roomba. Also, I was not able to get my iq robot to completely separate in half after removing all the screws. I want to see if I can find an an aftermarket brush motor on amazon or online somewhere.
I have the same model and used your vid to tear it down to clean the dustbin switch but when reassembled it now has an error 6 "make sure my bumper is moving freely"... it is btw but it looks like the 3 spring loaded fingers that face upward are worn and the foam bumpers are wore as well....cant find the fingers anywhere, shark customer service is no help, do you have some unworn fingers?
I have an RV1001AE that ran over a ton of dog excrement. In the process of taking the front wheel off, the assembly broke. (the white part with the screws is intact) However i am noticing that the manufacturer used different screws on the assembly. I am wondering if you have seen this?
Oh that’s a bummer hate to hear that. The RV 1001 and the RV 1001ae I have a different housing for the front wheel one of them has screws on the outside and one of them has screws on the inside which is the only difference I’ve seen out of all of robots I’ve checked so far they are different size however.
Mine keeps giving message on the App to empty the bin before it can resume. I have done that plus totally cleaned the out the dust bin. Same message. The message comes up in black across the App. Any suggestions?
I have water get inside my vacuum and I’m getting the cliff error I can see the residue on the inside of the cliff sensor so can’t actually wash it off from the outside. When you take it apart do you have access to clean the inside of the cliff sensor ?
Mine keeps saying suction motor not working. Ive cleaned all filters for clogs. I don't understand. If you could help please. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I keep getting error #7 clean cliff sensors and shark sent me a new vacuum under warranty. But is there any way to fix the sensors. The original unit appears fine except for error # 7 ?
We have the shark IQ. It ran over dog crap. Someone in my family decided to spray the shark off in the sink. As you can imagine it isn’t working like it should. It turns on, the WiFi works but it is throwing an 07 code saying the cliff sensors. 1 out of the 4 sensors have visible moisture in it. Thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
Same thing happened to me. Some idiot used the sprayer to clean it....that idiot would be me 😝 but I was pretty careful. Cliff sensor no matter how much I take it apart and clean it with alcohol. If anyone figures it out let me know please.
I have 2 of these. One gave a cliff error when in warranty and the replacement (2 years old) is now giving an error #2. I've totally dismantled it and cleaned all the hair for the cats out but can't get the effort to clear. In the one with the cliff error I also took it apart and see no obstructions or dirt. Any suggestions?
Sadly the iq series robots are very hard to fix and keep working. The sensor issue is bad on these you can find the broken sensor by turn the light off flipping it over and using cell phone camera to figure out which one is bad. Only problem is I don’t sell these because they are so hard to verify good parts
We have the self emptying model, today when I went to remove the roller brush (2.15 of your video) I find it WILL NOT come out, normally it just pops out like yours did. We have dogs, maybe it's the hair jamming things up? Ever had this issue?
Hey have you seen one with error#11. Mine when it tries to doc it sees it but doesn't find the connection metal part on the docking station. So I manually push it till it connects and I see the blue light on, 3 to 5 seconds later it states Charging Error # 11 and a Red Exclamation mark comes on flashing and the Doc light blinks blue.
I just got one from a friend and says not working..does not run..I called the company and they said software issue? Is that true? It lights up..but does not move..no wifi..it does do a self check..but will not vaccum. And ideas?
I have a sharks xl rv1101arus only a month old. Something heavy fell on it and now the darn thing is saying insert dust cup e9. I have taken the dust pan out a dozen or more times. Still reading e9. Help please....
i have a rv100 iq self empty and it will not come on no lights i have removed the battery and put it back in and turned it off back on left on the charging base for 24 hours and nothing no lights no sounds like it dosnt have a battery at all , i tested the bnattery and it does have some charge in it not much but some any ideas? thanks
My wonderful dog decided to poop on the floor and our shark ran through it. After cleaning it my sensors are now cloudy on the inside (no moisture, just dirty). Am I able to take it apart and get to a point where I can clean the inside of the ‘sensor windows’? It keeps saying it’s too close to a cliff so I know I need to clean them.
I asked this on your other video but is there anyway to full the cliff sensors mine is doing this exact same as yours mine is the self emptying but everything was working just fine until it ran over dog poop and then my friend clean the sensors and all that but they ended up getting a brand new one sent to them from shark so they gave me this old one to see if I can fix it.
Need full sensor set and maybe a motherboard cleaning the sensors with any voltage or any thing besides 91 percent alcohol will fry the sensors and sometimes pop the motherboard.
@@SmittysWorld so I just took it all apart and I can see the issue on one of the front sensors it shorted out. It had a small bridge on the 3rd and 4th pins and it made a small black spot on the connector that’s on the actual board.
Hi Smitty, our rv1001ae does not power on at all. It did a normal cleaning cycle, went back to the base station to charge and the blue charging light comes on the base station but no light no sign of life at all from the robot when I turn on and off I have also unplugged the battery and plugged it back in. I've had it for 20 months and it runs 1-2 times daily in a large home, I clean and maintain it frequently. Could be as simple as the battery? There were no obvious signs of battery wear other than perhaps slightly shorter run times between charging. Thanks in advance for any advice you can lend.
I've had the same issue Chris, I've tried replacing the battery and that didn't work either. The light on the charging base changes like normal when its placed on it, but the unit never turns on. Shark wont fix it and will only offer me a 30% discount. I have no idea what to do.
So it got in some dog poop and the other half washed it and unfortunately got water in it and now the lights don't come on at all I don't have time to repair it under repair it is there somewhere I can send it to get repaired
Hey! So we had to tear down our robot vac to clean out (ran over dog shit😡) anyways when popping out the front wheel, the part that holds the wheel, it looks like the screws broke off…I know we can get the part replaced but any ideas how to get the whole thing out since the screws broke???
There should be two screws that hold it in some are on the inside of the robot and some are under the wheel. Might have to drill it out then glue in the new housing.
I have two Shark 1001 robots. One the suction motor nor working. The second is giving me an error two. I have cleaned it throughly along with the wheels. I removed the wheels and lubricated the robot and still getting an error two. Can you help with my two problems. I believe I need a new suction motor. If so how would I order it from you. Second any advise on the error two would be appreciated. Thanks.
My vacuum rv10001ae self empty hit it's dock so hard it cracked the front clear black plastic though I didn't know it till later on about a week ago it started giving my the code that something was stuck under it it did that about a year after I first got it and I replaced the roller and it worked fine for a year and five months so I bought a new roller and it still giving the code and stopping I never let people wear shoes in my house it's only me my fiance and one cat I have kept my filters changed I have laminate floors with two area rugs that are low pile. I have ocd so my house is spotless I have never let water near it I always pick up cat toys and things before I run it so I'm baffled I wonder if it's because the front is cracked it's directly in the middle so there is no sensor behind where it's cracked so my question is if you think that's the problem do you have one that you would sell me? Or second question since I can't live without the vacuum I already ordered another one I bought it renewed on Amazon for a little over 100.00 and I bought a three year warranty with it so I already have a replacement coming but if I could fix this one I could give it to my daughter or if you don't think that's the problem and it's nothing I can do to fix would you be interested in buying it to either fix or use for parts. I just put a brand new battery in it last November then I just replaced every filter and the brushes and brush roller and door with all parts and filters from shark which is what I always have used that's why I'm confused Its doing this because I have cleaned it every month and did everything I was supposed to.
Hey Smitty I need ur help! My robot took on some water and is giving me cliff sensor issues. I've taken it apart. How can I get ahold of u for replacement parts and help?
I'm getting an error #6 about the bumper all the time. I've taken it apart a few times and everything seems to be in working order, aside from one of the levers sticks a bit sometimes. I'm at a loss for what to do...
Sadly there is not a lot of things you can for this issue. It's super common and without replacing the motherboard or the full sensor pack you might as well buy a new one.
Our robot vacuum keeps saying to check the front wheel sensor and we did but still will only move a few feet off the dock before it stops and gives and error.

My shark iq r1000 won’t turn on at all. The power switch is in the on position and it’s making contact with the sensors on the charging base but won’t power up. Last week I did have a drive wheel error but put it on the base to charge until I had time to troubleshoot the error. Now that I’ve tried, no power, period. My RV1001AE just started doing this. I called support, did a video call so they can see the issue. They claim the whole unit needs to be replaced and said that there aren't any replacement parts available to fix it. They offered a 30% discount on a whole new unit which ended up being $150 more than I originally paid. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
we have a rv1000 shark that the side brushes stopped working there doesnt seem to be anything blocking the brush . One turns the other doesnt . any suggestions.
If it’s under your old contacts sure I can have them replace our warranty if it’s older than a year than you’re gonna need a new spin brush murder and currently am out of stock but you should be able to find one on eBay or Amazon
My vacuum says there's an obstruction, error 2 but there's nothing blocking the roller brush. The motor won't engage and I've spun it by hand a few times with no luck
Hi, What should i check if my robot vacuum just turns off after just like 5-10 minutes running, no error is displayed no error is reported, i take it to the base and next day it starts again.
@@jxtorbay Possible but i have seen alot of times the battery is the issue one way to check is to take the robot remove the brush roller have it in a room where the docking station is not in and see how long it last. If it dies then its the battery or motherboard issue if not then its main brush roller motor getting to hot.
What do I do with a robot with error 10 that's his move to a level surface but I have changed it to a level surface and still continues to say it and will not operate
Hi there, I found a way to check the edge sensors, just a fyi for future reference. If you just point a camera at the sensors while it gives the error, they will show on camera since they use infrared. You can see in my video.
This is a great tip but unfortunately this doesn’t work with every phone and is not always accurate. I’ll cover more in a video tonight but thanks this will help a lot of people out

I have this same model robot that was replacing the wheel motor, had an issue. I am hoping you can help me with. There is a metal wedge, looking piece about 2 inches long that came out when I was trying to reassemble it, I have no idea where it came from or how to put it back in… Do you know what this part is?
Thanks, It helped this old farm boy replace the right spinner on my 1101. Respectfully, Brian
Thank you!
I have the self emptying model of this one and it will not charge… any thoughts?
Can you make a video on how to replace the power supply? Also do you know where I can by a new power supply (that is inside the base unit). Thank you!
Mine won’t turn on now after an error. So I thought bad battery but new battery has made zero diff. Still worth fixing?
On a shark rv900 series is there a sensor that tells it when the dust bin is installed. Even with the bin installed I constantly get error 9 saying it isn’t. Thanks
My roller brush is stuck in the vacuum. Any advice?
My brushroller is stuck, not able to remove easily, what shall I do?
a heavy weighy came out of mine when I was disassemling it, where does that weight go?
Back corner area
does the battery connector assy come out and can I get one. mine fell apart when I removed the battery. obviously I didn't depress the connector far enough and now I have a loos pin.
No sadly you need a whole new motherboard
So I'm having problems with it being able to charge changed the battery already started working but I'm noticing the metal on the bottom isn't hitting the chase port trying to get to them and bend them out a bit
Hey Smitty, I have a RV1501 model and it won't power on! Some water may have been dropped on the side of it...not sure which side...I am hoping there is a fuse on this model, any idea where it would be located or do you have any other suggestions? Thx
No fuse that can be changed out like that
RV2500AE - my stupid dog peed on it and now it says error 7 cliff sensor- I have cleaned the sensors f try on outside but still saying error 7.
I have the same problem! Came just for that. Let me know if that was the issue please!
Awesome information. Strip that for parts. Good to know which parts work with which model. Thank you. I run a vacuum repair shop in Ohio.
I have the shark Rv1001ae. The side brushes wiggle on and off because of a small metal clip that is screwed on. Unfortunately I unscrewed this part before I knew the brushes just snapped off and lost the metal clip. Any remedy for this?
Same model, vacuum will run and then power down and then back up, repeats cycle after pressing button to clean again. Full battery. Please help!
I have a 1001ae and I can't get lights to come on at all. It flat out stopped working. Any suggestions besides buy a new one? I bought and replaced the battery so I know the battery is good.
Warranty it unfortunately motherboard issues are common.
I know this is an old video, but can you tell me how many lights are supposed to be on each side sensor and front sensor?
I have a shark robot model RV1001ARCA with error 2 tried everything any suggestions on how to fix this problem
I got a little fresh water in my Shark IQ. I have taken it a part to let it dry out. Any other advice?
I have the same model and used your vid to tear it down to clean the dustbin switch but when reassembled it now has an error 6 "make sure my bumper is moving freely"... it is btw but it looks like the 3 spring loaded fingers that face upward are worn and the foam bumpers are wore as well....cant find the fingers anywhere, shark customer service is no help, do you have some unworn fingers?
What do you charge to eork on a 1000 series
I have an RV1001AE that ran over a ton of dog excrement. In the process of taking the front wheel off, the assembly broke. (the white part with the screws is intact) However i am noticing that the manufacturer used different screws on the assembly. I am wondering if you have seen this?
Oh that’s a bummer hate to hear that. The RV 1001 and the RV 1001ae
I have a different housing for the front wheel one of them has screws on the outside and one of them has screws on the inside which is the only difference I’ve seen out of all of robots I’ve checked so far they are different size however.
Mine keeps giving message on the App to empty the bin before it can resume. I have done that plus totally cleaned the out the dust bin. Same message. The message comes up in black across the App. Any suggestions?
Great video! Thabk you for sharing this with us.
While pulling off the left wheel I broke the yellow wire off the black housing. Do you sell replacement wire harnesses?
I have the ai self empty and can’t seem to get to the motherboard any tips?
How would i go anout sending u my unit to work on.
I am getting error 14 and it's driving me crazy! Is the magnetic sensor part of the cliff sensor issue?
do you know where is cliff sensor erro of RV1000S be at can you show where it is thanks you
I have water get inside my vacuum and I’m getting the cliff error I can see the residue on the inside of the cliff sensor so can’t actually wash it off from the outside. When you take it apart do you have access to clean the inside of the cliff sensor ?
Did you ever fix it
Do you have a video that shows how to replace the front sensor springs? One of mine popped thanks
I got moisture in my left side near wheel sensor. I believe it is what’s triggering my cliff code 7. Any idea how I get that out.
Yeah im having same issues. Clean the shit outta cliff sensor still error 7
You have to take the whole top off and access the sensor itself. Once you get down to it. Then you can wipe out the sensor
I bought a can of compressed air and have used that to blow out lots of tiny debris. I use it every few runs just as routine preventative maintenance.
Mine keeps saying suction motor not working. Ive cleaned all filters for clogs. I don't understand. If you could help please. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Use air compressor the blow out the suction vents might have something hanging the motor up
I keep getting error #7 clean cliff sensors and shark sent me a new vacuum under warranty.
Thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
oh man.. same thing happened to me and I am trying to get the wheel apart so I can clean them.
Same thing happened to me. Some idiot used the sprayer to clean it....that idiot would be me 😝 but I was pretty careful. Cliff sensor no matter how much I take it apart and clean it with alcohol. If anyone figures it out let me know please.
Similar issue for me too. My cat peed ON TOP of the vacuum for days while I was out of town. 07 code here too
Same here cliff code... I cleaned them also
I have 2 of these.
Only problem is I don’t sell these because they are so hard to verify good parts
is there a way to clear the error msg and see if it will work again. It keeps telling me its cliff sensor to close to a cliff to reposition it.
We have the self emptying model, today when I went to remove the roller brush (2.15 of your video) I find it WILL NOT come out, normally it just pops out like yours did.
We have dogs, maybe it's the hair jamming things up? Ever had this issue?
hair can get trapped inside and make it hard to come out but should come out no issues
My robot has a oscillating squeaky sound. Do you know how to lubricate the wheel assemblies? Thanks,
Mine is doing the same thing!!!!
I just got one from a friend and says not working..does not run..I called the company and they said software issue? Is that true? It lights up..but does not move..no wifi..it does do a self check..but will not vaccum. And ideas?
What model
I have a sharks xl rv1101arus only a month old. Something heavy fell on it and now the darn thing is saying insert dust cup e9. I have taken the dust pan out a dozen or more times. Still reading e9. Help please....
I keep getting a error #6 but everything is cleaned and nothing obstruction any idea what’s wrong?
Sensors probably are bad sadly it's very common and not always a easy fix.
i have a rv100 iq self empty and it will not come on no lights i have removed the battery and put it back in and turned it off back on left on the charging base for 24 hours and nothing no lights no sounds like it dosnt have a battery at all , i tested the bnattery and it does have some charge in it not much but some any ideas? thanks
Charging the lights will blink . Battery could not bad , charger could be bad , or the motherboard has gone bad
Take sensors out and be careful trying to clean them only use 91 percent rubbing alcohol to clean them.
Hi there,
Our 1000ae needs a new ribbon for the power wheel. Can I get one from you?
Me three and I’ve replaced the battery.
I have a Rv 1001 suction motor is bad do you have one?
Yes send me a message on my eBay store
Thanks.

Thank you so much for your video ☺️
You need new sensors and I do not sell them sadly because of all the issues they have.
How can I purchase a wheel wire from you for my model ur1105ARUS
Hey what tools do I need to open this bad boy up I have self emptying model
Long shaft torx bit set
Our robot vacuum keeps saying to check the front wheel sensor and we did but still will only move a few feet off the dock before it stops and gives and error.
I have a UR100S where one of the side brush motors have gone bad. Where can I find replacement parts?
That me off a robot you should call shark first. I don’t have any of those available right now.
@@SmittysWorld I've got a RV1001 that wont turn on at all. I've tried replacing the battery and that didn't work either. Shark wont fix it. I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
6:14 desktop piece on mine has wires I don't remember where to plug it in can you help me out
My shark iq r1000 won’t turn on at all. The power switch is in the on position and it’s making contact with the sensors on the charging base but won’t power up. Last week I did have a drive wheel error but put it on the base to charge until I had time to troubleshoot the error. Now that I’ve tried, no power, period. Checked and the battery is connected as well. Any thoughts?
Wondering if he checks this post anymore
I’m getting dock and clean GREEN lights flashing + (!) RED flashing…. Robot goes out and stops. Any help appreciated. This error code is not on the manual. Thank you!
My RV1001AE just started doing this. I called support, did a video call so they can see the issue. They claim the whole unit needs to be replaced and said that there aren't any replacement parts available to fix it. They offered a 30% discount on a whole new unit which ended up being $150 more than I originally paid. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
hi, I have the shark AI robot vacmop side spinner brushes will not snap on. Can you tell me how to remedy this problem? thanks
Are they the correct spinner brushes ?
we have a rv1000 shark that the side brushes stopped working there doesnt seem to be anything blocking the brush . One turns the other doesnt . any suggestions.
If it’s under your old contacts sure I can have them replace our warranty if it’s older than a year than you’re gonna need a new spin brush murder and currently am out of stock but you should be able to find one on eBay or Amazon
@@SmittysWorld Thank you they are sending me a new body pod. Is it hard to replace the brush motor ?
I have the same problem on a brand new one I'm trying to resell. Did you figure it out?
I'm looking to find those little metal clips that go under the brushes, anybody got any idea what they're called or where I can get them?
I just took my cover off and I have a weight light thing. It's got little lines in it and it's about 2-2 1/2 inches long. Have no idea where it went
Weight like**
It has a small round piece of foam glued to one end of this little piece.
Bad battery more then likely
@@SmittysWorld Thank you. don´t you think it could be a dirty fan and overheating?
@@jxtorbay Possible but i have seen alot of times the battery is the issue one way to check is to take the robot remove the brush roller have it in a room where the docking station is not in and see how long it last. If it dies then its the battery or motherboard issue if not then its main brush roller motor getting to hot.
My on off button is stuck in the off position and I cannot push it at all what do I do help
What do I do with a robot with error 10 that's his move to a level surface but I have changed it to a level surface and still continues to say it and will not operate
Warranty it out or buy a new one
Robot can't find base, ever what part to fix that
Do you have spare parts for sale for rv1000?
Hi there, I found a way to check the edge sensors, just a fyi for future reference. If you just point a camera at the sensors while it gives the error, they will show on camera since they use infrared. You can see in my video.
ua-cam.com/video/s8rsTctvI5g/v-deo.html
This is a great tip but unfortunately this doesn’t work with every phone and is not always accurate. I’ll cover more in a video tonight but thanks this will help a lot of people out
It says out cliff sensors are blocked an we have wiped it down and still sayid it’s blocked wht can i do
Seems like this Cliff sensor issue is pretty common. I will try to call them I still have warranty on it.
1000 series that get this error should be thrown away or sent back for warranty it’s either the sensors or the motherboard sadly
I have an IQ self-empting and I split the body and him and there's wires to the top half that aren't in your video and I don't know where the one wire plugs in. I could send you a picture hopefully you can help me out.
9:31 He called it a sensor. I don’t see a place to plug it in. Is that the one that you’re talking about?
@@NicoleLisaGreen found it and fixed it, ty
Happy for you.I wish I could find it.
Would you be able to do a video on refrigerator maintaince?
That is a hard one for me since there are so many different models.
Here's what happened to me 7 months ago. (This is an edited repost with update at the end.) ...only had it about 3 weeks... started getting error #2...called tech support...They went through almost nothing in terms of "troubleshooting" and said almost immediately, we're gonna send you replacement parts.
UPDATE: Needed to buy (no kidding) THREE different packs of specialized torx screw drivers to get one of each of the kind required! But followed this breakdown video exactly. Know what the problem was? The right wheel's wired jack had become disconnected. It had picked up some pieces of thread off of the carpet which I guess jammed it up and caused the wheel to come loose. Put it back together. Boom! Now I have TWO $400 shark self-emptying robots! One for the front of the house and one for the back. Thanks so much Smitty!!
What happens if you run over water and the Cliff Error (code 7) keeps repeating itself? Is this fixable??
I also was getting the "too close to a cliff" error and/or the robot was just spinning in circles. I cleaned all the sensors on the bottom, but the problem was within the bumper - @ 2:38 this video shows how to take it apart. There are many other sensors underneath the bumper and the bumper itself has an inner plastic surface those sensors apparently reflect against and/or shine through. After a thorough cleaning and reassembly, my vacuum is working perfectly again!
I’m getting code 24 not communicating is that my board
I've had a shark iq for less than a week. The front sensor keeps getting stuck up. I came home today to the robot sitting in the middle of the floor with the case cracked and it not Turning on anymore
Send it back
