Great video! Thanks for noticing us! Just a few details that we would like to add:
• Full release & season 1 is scheduled for July 11th, 2024. This means that the economy and leaderboards will reset. All current ladder characters will become "eternal" characters.
• The music is a completely original score.
• NGO uses some sound effects from a public domain sound effect library that was also used by EverQuest. We confirmed this with Brad McQuaid and via the distributor of the sound effect library. Yes, we did use them for nostalgia reasons because we love EverQuest and felt that the sound effects needed a modern revival 😊
• EverQuest was a heavy influence, but it was also influenced by Diablo 2, Phantasy Star Online/Universe, and Darkest Dungeon.
• Earlier versions of the game had avatars created by an artist. We switched to AI-generated avatars due to the sheer quantity that we could generate. This allowed us to go from 224 to 1,120 total avatars. This also allows us to add additional avatars in the future at very little cost to us. This is important due to our small budget. As you stated, it also felt like a perfect use case for us.
completely onboard with the AI portraits. Like I said, the more options the better for customization!
In terms of other things its definitely just feedback. Keep content coming and players will follow.
Absolutely love the EQ sounds. If you do change them, at least keep the level up ding sound. ;)
Still going to play the game, but the AI portraits were a little disappointing. Not because of it being AI, but they're so bland and boring. There's nothing going on with them, no interesting design choices or soul in it, just boring, bland humanoids all in the same artstyle with slight variations. You don't need even 224 avatars, let alone 1120.
@@chrisboelens2640 NGO player here, they really must have an odd reason to decide 40 avatars for each race and in their gender so that's how the amount of avatars stack up. I do agree, the game doesn't need that many avatars.

im a big fan of might and magic 7 and 8 so gave it a try when it came out and now i have over 1500 hours of gameplay. I would say i am not disappointed at all

Looks like good gameplay, shame about the AI art. Is it placeholder, or is it final? I'd ask if we can upload our portraits, but that's a good way to get dongs everywhere.
I have similar feelings for the SSI Eye of the Beholder series. I still have the floppies, but can't play it now.

Dude, back in the day, party-based dungeon crawling rpgs were the only rpgs. I think you have it backwards. Bard's tale wizardry might and magic. Wasteland , Ultima... list goes on

Hello, there is currently a 50% promotion on Steam for the game Nevergrind Online, do you play it?
bought it recently due to the game being on sale for like 4.79€ and I can tell the game also has some inspiration from Wizardry (Specially 1 to 7 as they were the pixel dungeon crawlers) I love Wizardry and when I saw what kinda game was I got HOOKED. I got it today and im like 8 hours in
The way it looks will really turn off so many people. I didnt think it was a tab targeting mmo, thought it was just one of those auto battlers. I luckily looked at the bottom and say the huge skill bar, dont think most are going to see that. I'll look more into it and see if character classes are any good and fun to theory craft, if they are I'll buy it on sale.
Never needed to grind type of RPG, that’s what I’m looking for.

Saw the game before, didn't end up buying because I disagree with the author's views (at the time he posted a lot of anti vaxx videos on youtube). From what I can find that content's now been scrubbed
