To be fair. Steven from AoC has openly admitted many times that lots of ideas and systems have come from Archeage. The whole trade route system came from Archeage albeit totally refined to be better.
As a Korean American who has suffered enough of NC Soft's bullshit, I am sincerely beginning all Western gamers to ignore anything that has NC Soft's name attached. If you think EA and Activison is bad, wait until you meet NC Soft and Lineage monetization model. NC Soft cannot make any game that is outside of its monetization framework. You dont know whats the meaning of "pay to win" until you played Lineage. We are talking $1 million dollar level monetization. People selling houses to buy game items. Even EVE doesnt make you pay like that...

In EQ, in The Bazaar on Luclin, indeed players needed to remain logged in in order to sell from designated vendor bags, though a search UI guided players to the players selling the item. It was a simpler, more efforted time.
AoC game is literally ran by a scammer and the game sells more cosmetics than any game I have witnessed despite not being released, so your expectations must not be very high.
Alot of us want a way to support a game of our dreams and have something to show for it, even if the cosmetics are just things that npcs will have in the world. Crafted gear is supposed to be cooler but at least we get something unique to show that we were founders. I might have still donated money otherwise but was stoked to at least get something to show for it, along with access to alpha 2, which starts Q3 of this year. Ive also never seen a game studio be so transparent with their development and would be insane for them to be hosting a 2 hour livestream every month with tons of progress. They would never be able to show their face again or make anything ever. Obviously anything can happen in life, but I'd prob kill myself if that sweet woman Margaret Krohn who hosts the livestreams with Steven was a scammer. Shes married and I follow her on instagram and seems super family oriented and would just be nuts. I get super passionate, humble vibes from her and would be flabbergasted if she was just faking it@@TheCooderix They got some big hires this year too including lead writer of ESO Wynne Mclaughlin as Senior Narrative Designer and Bill Trost, co-creator of EverQuest 1 and 2 and just left Amazon after working on New World for 6 yrs, as lead game designer. Doubt they would join a scam Also, 100k+ people have signed up for alpha 2 so be ready for tons of ppl to be talking about state of game, including me :) If they f us, I will rage like never before and make sure they get turned into dust along with everyone else don't worry
We all thought that this year was going to be a great year for the genre, and in the end look how it ended, without a single decent mmo of the few that came out. We'll see how 2024 goes
Thanks for the overview. Lots of interesting MMO's coming out. Just a heads up - the Odyssey review featured mostly Palia (I think that's what it was), not scenes from Odyssey.
Waiting for the day a game is able to figure out how to have strategic group orientated action combat. Tab targeting feels outdated but every action combat game we've ever had makes other players feel like NPC's. If anyone can ever combine the best of both it'll truly be the next generation MMO
Darkfall online was the goat, but the shit devs that inherited the game from the people who actually made it ruined it. It had a couple of re-releases and one of those is looking at a steam release, but it’s not the same anymore.
There are heavy rumors regarding a new SWTOR or something of the kind that should replace both SWTOR as SW Galaxies alike. Now whether this happens to be true or not, we will have to wait and see. If it does happen I really do hope they won't mess it up and actually make a huge impact as a great star wars game in mmo style is really needed. However I do hope there is a offline variant as well in case you wish to do that instead and add mods. I do think that would be a major win if they did that. Also Zenimax was mentioned quite often regarding a new SW mmo indeed, but for now we should take that with a grain of sand for now.
Ashes of Creation is by far the best project on this list. No P2W, indie devs, actual systems to encourage socialization, FULLY player driven world with dynamic weather and events, monthly significant updates... etc. AoC is the only MMO playable next year that genuinely gets me excited. I can't wait to play Alpha 2!
I sure do hope the game is amazing but for me visuals of gear and progressing your character in coolness is just as important as power, because of this ashes is massively p2w. Literally a huge amount of ppl play to farm cool characters just as much as some play to farm best stats on the gear, and theres an extreme cost and amount of limited availability fomo overload in ashes.
I'm really looking forward to a lot of these. I really don't mind tab target gameplay, but one thing that I truly miss is actually good True Action combat. Despite all of it's shortcomings, TERA honestly is the only game that I have ever felt actually NAILED that combat style. It felt smooth, unclunky, and flowed well. Really hope that in the coming years we could see a game actually capture that fluidity without overdoing it, and matching the combat that TERA had. :(
I agree with this, if you're going to make an MMO around action combat, do it really well. I'm looking forward to AGS reworking New World's combat completely
You don't need a whole list cause it's pretty simple: either nothing special will happen in the genre within the next 5 years, or Ashes of Creation is going to set the new standard if they can deliver what they've promised all these years in development. All the eggs are pretty much in one basket cause the rest doesn't even come close to changing the genre.
My dream MMO is a seamless world, that lets you guild up, but solo also. If your character can morph in a way that no other can, a way to overpower against the world. I think City of Hero's is a good example of this.
Why be excited about ZOS game tho? Honest question. You know how like in every other mmo when there is a big update/expansion.. people are hyped and happily waiting for new content? In ESO everyone (all my friends) was just always horrified of patch notes day, and for a good reason. Every quarterly update the Devs just made changes/nerfs to the game that are mostly beyond logic and always less fun after update, not more like in other games. It's almost a miracle how it's possible. But a reality in ESO. And i played it for 5 years. So i had enough time to learn the pattern of despair lol When did quit ESO, think i actually had enough of the whole company and cannot trust them in other products also. Most my friends who did quit say the same. Takes a lot for a company to get to that point for all of us. And yes, we were PVP Cyrodiil players. Enough was enough of broken promises and even trials and pve land started to feel often laggy/unresponsive like Cyrodiil. People made builds that "try this in lag for more damage". Not normal to have to do, when other games (that i play now) work perfectly normally. Meanwhile ESO server is like on moon with that high latency (100-450ms from europe to EU server, like what?) and skill delays. If same team makes any game, i have ZERO trust that it would be of good quality. Or that it would stay that way. Even if they would make best game ever, i'd give it couple quarterly updates for them to break it with useless changes, bugs and technical performance issues. Sad to feel that way, but it is what it is.
@@Jannah_2k So what MMO are you playing now since you quit ESO. Pray tell pls. I am just gonna buy ESO to play but you have me thinking twice about it now. What MMO are you playing and I will want to review it to decide whether ESO is worth my time and money. Thanks.
@@kwoowoo828 I currently play FF14, it has awesome instanced raiding content (Ultimates, Savage tiers) and Guild Wars 2, it has the most fun open world game play of any MMO i have tried (the pve event based playing) and WvW (open world pvp mode with castle sieges, that actually work and has good performance unlike ESO. What both has in common? They both work REALLY well, with stable 30-40ms ping 24/7 in any situation. They replaced ESO for me, could not ever go back, i even still (after a year of playing them) wonder occasionally how WEIRD it is that the games WORK so well, i was somehow normalized the lag and problems of ESO so strongly in my head, that when started to play other games having no lag felt like a miracle that should not even be almost possible. Same pc, same connection, games work like as they should. And GW2 for example has WAY better looking mount/gear/weapon skins with fancy particle effects, so works better yet still has better eye candy also, my characters look damn awesome. The game looks nice in in 2k for over 10 year old. ^^ Love it. And in FF14 i can be the cat girl i am meant to be lmao. Yes, i wear cat ears irl while playing, for memes and cuteness. 😹 My advice to you if you play ESO, do NOT invest much extra money on it, or might have feelings of regret after the initial and hits endgame and notices the problems (technical performance, lag, bugs, Devs hating their own players feeling) so you don't get that sunk cost fallacy hitting feeling. Because both pve trial scene and pvp scene is DEAD in that game, so small that everyone knows each others by name. So you know it's not healthy situation. Play it like single player game is my advice and be ready for performance issues wrecking nerves if go try pvp in primetime. That is all.
@LuckyGhost Ur video is rly great! I'm soooooooo looking forward to so many of these 😊 Buuuuut I noticed u showed in your vid 1 of my fav games Palia under the Blizzard Oddessey timestamp from here 18:44 but you don't mention it anywhere so thought I might point it out as I see you give credits to all other stuff and don't want you getting in trouble ❤
They mess up ESO with that one Tamriel rubbish, it was a tradition leveling mmo before then. Now it's just a joke and the world holds no danger or sense of progression.
@@ShadeMoon42 lolwut??? Did you even play the game at launch, it was legit the worst mmo launch at history, the game was broken AF. One Tamriel literally saved the game from dying.
Since I spent 15 years playing Lineage II, from beta until it became ptw, and still thinking it was the best game ive ever played, Im definetly looking forward to Throne & Liberty. If they can bring back the feel from the first 5 Chronicles of Lineage II, with full pvp and sieges, along with sub to play, no bop, no auction-house, no instances ... Im hooked!💘 Even hearing the music again while you talk about project LLL, bring back so many memories.🤗 Very nice lineup, Im sure we are looking forward to some great games, over the next few years. Thx for taking us along.😉
I was a big Fan from L2 also and 2 tell you the truth even thou I still play to this day, the best time for me in L2 was Beta right up 2 the last day of Beta, it went down hill from that point but still is fun 2 keep me around this long but I miss the days of Beta up to C2
I love you videos Man keep making them but it's a little frustrating to hear about games that might come out 5 years from now not really interested in those due to how many things can change before 5 years is up
As a massive fan of the Horizon games I can definitely say I'm looking forward to a Horizon MMO. The cultures within the world are so diverse and interesting that I'm looking forward to immersing myself in whatever they create. Not hugely interested in anything else in the list but I'll definitely check them all out. Throne and Liberty looks beautiful but what monetisation method they'll adobt worries me. Great video again, Lucky. Now everyone scream with me: STREAM STREAM STREAM
@@Night_Strike I have and I absolutely agree with you about the combat. It's absolutely fantastic. I'll be logging in to grab my free dream horse! Merry Christmas!
I'd like to see your take on the LOTR MMO and New world's future. I'm honestly scared that New world simply made a paid expansion just to gather revenue for LOTR. They won't say it of course... but it feels like they'll just use New world as LOTR's beta. They'll eventually focus more on the baby while the older child gets neglected
i mean.. it would make sense to use new world as testing space for their LOTR MMO because let's be honest here.. Tolkien's IP is one of the biggest if not.. The biggest. There's a lot of tolkien fans out here including me. I really REALLY hope they don't fumble it because it could easily break the studio.
@@corvusblack7362 no it's not a reboot. it'll likely be within the same time-frame as LOTRO but it'll be it's own game with different gameplay, mechanics etc.
@@bilaliqbal4012 Both MMO has the same designers. How different can you expect both games to differ? I suspect their LOTR 2 will be instead another piece of New World 2 shit. I would say the same thing for Archeage 2. People don't change their mindset so easily, so the games that they design will bear huge resemblances as it reflect their personalities.
Strong? Depends on your definition. Definitely out-going I think because they are not developing any new contents for this game for years already. They just recycle more of the old 'content' like new stronghold, new stuffs that are a reskin of sort from old content.
Agreed. I was excited to hear about Archeage II because I did kinda enjoy it until getting to the end game and the heinous p2w microtransactions, but wow they just stripped out a lot of the flavor of it, and focusing more on singleplayer stuff? idk it just looks really generic and sounds much more boring. I will miss my little fishing bungalow though, just kicking up and fishing.
@@kylesmith564 FFXIV has fishing as well, plus you can make your own fishing gear with crafting (FFXIV allows you to play all classes and job classes on one character), like the clothing, rod, accessories, and bait. You can also go under the water and spearfish (you have infinite underwater breathing due to in-game lore; all races can breathe underwater!). There are also different fishing environments besides just water; includes icy water, watery sand, lava, chemical waters, clouds, outer space, and different fish come out in different weather conditions. Fishing has its own actions for catching fish. You can mount fish, desynthesize them, or put them in aquariums inside your house. There is also deep sea fishing you can do in 3 parts of the game’s world on a boat, and you can level up your fishing class faster that way. Plus you can win prizes (non-fish) for deep sea fishing, including a shark mount.
@@adamslosslessmusiccollection I know, I’m 90 on fisher, that’s why I agreed to comment op. I just miss the ocean bungalow I had on AA. Was very satisfying coming home from a run across the ocean and posting up on my bungalow. Sad to hear unlimited went the way of the greedy, but with wow on the upturn and ff14 doing great, idk if anything on this list will dethrone those.
Archage had an amazing combat and class system, however the end game grind and making any kind of money or house asked you to make archage your 1st job... And I mean at least 8 hrs per day. If they'll do the same here, good luck...
The game was so close to being perfect, I had a blast on launch . I'm always going to argue that the limited housing system did the most damage though, the botting and map hackers buying every property the instant it comes up just made me walk away.
I've been wanting a modern Lord of the Rings game for so long. New World is an extremely fun game in it's current state. I could definitely see LotR fitting into that game engine quite well. Runeterra will get time from me no matter what. I have an embarrassing many thousands of hours in League of Legends. A lot of the other games in this list (Ark 2, Horizon, Dune, Ashes of Creation, and new ZOS game specifically) sound really cool, but probably won't pull me in until we see their launches.
Maybe I'm getting old, maybe Im already tired of all these cash grab, p2w, loot box games, but not even one of these games catches my eye or inspire any interest.
I tried just about every MMO that has ever existed and the two that I have played from day one to this day are STO and GW2. I get my Sci-Fi/Space fix from STO and I get my fantasy fix in GW2. No two MMO have done it better overall then those two. Are they perfect, no but for the bang for buck those two offer a lot on what they deliver. Of course we all have our personal opinion what makes a good MMO, and I do like there are options as not everyone sees the same value in a game as someone else does. If you love MMOs like I do, good luck finding the one that brings you the most fun. Peace.
People have been saying "One of these will likely surpass WoW." Yet here we are 20 years later and WoW is still killing it. I would love to see a game compete with WoW, however none of the games do PvP the way WoW does and it just feels much better than anything I have played.
WoW definitely isn't killing it. MMOs are just hard to make, require a lot of funding and are often done badly or rushed because the developers get greedy for money.
If Archeage 2 is not going the world PVP route it just lost their main selling point at least for me, i loved the questing and "cmapign" also some PVE raids/dungeons and open world bosses. But world PVP, contesting world bosses adn contesting trading routes was the most fun part to me. I even liked the Labour system and how u would have to find creative ways to make money, even tho i was allways F2P
Yep. Lame af. If you focus on pve/crafting/anything but pvp, why play mmo? Better of playing sp or “local/private multiplayer” Doing the exact same thing 1000 times to get a new piece of gear to do the exact same thing 3 seconds quicker is the most boring gameplay in existence imo.
@@na2cho I liked the pvp in Archeage, hated the class system/design. Artificial choices and the crafting suuuuucked which made the whole equipment side of the game horrible. As for why no focus on PvP for everything? Cost benefit analysis. When it takes you real world time for labor points in order to create trade packs from things requiring real world time to grow or gather in the wild then to move those trade packs over distances only for people to steal them? Yeah, it caused a mass exodus in the game. Also the game quickly lost a reason to play when their were so few quests or anything to actually explore. Where you had places to explore you had no reason to explore...no reward, nothing unique or special in those out of the way locales. I had fun being a corsair with a group and taking out the other side's trade ships. Sure. However I understand why so many people hated it and why the game died so fast. The first 3-6 months the game was PACKED. Once people did all the quests and realized they were just in a trade convoy loop, player count fell off FAST. PvP focused MMOs have no legs, they take forever to make just as PvE MMOs do, but their life cycle is so small unless you also have a robust PvE side.
Nah, that's not even a problem. They will still have pvp. The problem is the p2w and over monetizing, that's what kills Archage. If that is your problem, then you best just go play games like Call of Duty or Battlefield shooting games lol.
@@lovemoviesful2 wtf? call of duty is nothing like Archeage PVP, and as i said i liked the game besides the PVP, but Archeage PVP was one of the most unique things about the game, without it it is just another MMO
Throne and Liberty is gonna be hot ass. Ashes is never going to live up to the hype, its gonna be the Cyberpunk of MMOs. The Riot MMO is probably the one with the best shot to be big.
I hope the new LotR mmo continues to use the sound effect of actual bones breaking when you take fall damage. Great video as always! I'm excited for Soulframe.
Embracer has laid off over 5% of its workforce after a deal supposedly with the Saudis fell through, costing over $2B US in lost revenue. This happened about a month after they acquired the LOTR partnership from Amazon. I’m curious if the games division has more licensing than the tv division. The show only had authority to use a couple of appendices, but none of the primary or secondary source material. If the game is set in the Rings of Power era and with those characters, it will flop worse than a professional soccer player.
ArcheAge was amazing and the early p2w was very mild and really only balanced work/life/play. But as time went on, it moved much more into cash grab p2w and so everyone quit when normal people couldn't keep up with the whales. I still greatly miss the Alpha version of New World.
that is one of the Cinematics from Star Wars: the Old Republic an MMO from Bioware, no clue why they used it for Zos since it wasn't made by the Same Studio
Eight videos SO LARGE that they span over 15 games! Great summary. I am most excited about the new ZOS game. They figured out a meaningful loop and the biggest limitation to ESO at this point is its engine.
I'm probably never going to get what I want... which is a world so large you can get lost. No teleportation.. no mercy in the wild.. every one starts in approximately the same area.. the further you manage to move away from the starter area the tougher it gets.. the idea has been tried but so long ago most have never see it. With ai to help you can finally build compelling non repetitious content
Do Ghost and Runeterra take place in the same world? Might be the developer overlap but there are character similarities in both games per the clips you used?
We have no footage of those games as of yet, so we don't actually know what either will look like. That was generic trailer footage from riot games which is what I'm guessing will be a large inspiration for both
Loadscreen within zones is the most realistic one regardless of what people want. Tho it would be better if you can do something while the game loads like open your inventory or something else.
SWG didn't really have a global auction house. It did, kinda, but barely anyone used it. Having your own vendors, especially if there's persistent non-instanced housing was very cool IMO.
Ashes confirmed in their December developer stream that Alpha 2 should be released in 3rd quarter, so July-September 2024. I think a 2026 full release is feasible.
As much as I would love that, expect 2028-2030 more realistically. Gotta think A2 will go at least a year or longer until 2026 and maybe even A3 before Beta 1 and 2, which all take at least a year each I imagine. But finally a company to not rush a game. Releasing an mmo unfinished is certain death unlike other genres
the thing i worry about is the last two mmo's i bought started blocking vpns so i couldn' (wouldn't) play them anymore. unfortunately they were both after many months of release/game play so it's not like i could buy the game, test it and get a refund after a couple minutes of failing to get on it. i'd hate to think they do this on purpose to get as many people in at the start...but both were by amazon so i'm pretty leery of amazon now. (one was a release to the western market but i think it was under their sponsorship)
Wow ... I just never understood why a dev would tell us about a game that won't be released for 3 4 5 plus years ... I would rather not know until it's closer to release and maybe that's just me but it just seams silly to me .
a lot of times its because they need to attract talented developers, and they cant do that without telling the world they are making the game. other times they want feedback from the community about their ideas early, before the cake is baked. but im with ya, lookin at an mmo 7 years out is painful haha
Yeah bro I get it but it definitely does suck to see and have to wait and then you have games your excited for then wait years only to be disappointed like for me starfield I mean it's OK but I prefer fallout 4 or skyrim it's just super repetitive to me
Having just gone to Ghost's site, I understand their zone mechanics. Each "Biome" is independent of the others, floating island worlds reminiscent of that old "turtle world" myth - Ghost has piqued my interest, as has Horizon and Once Human(4K/server looter shooter with SCP/SecretWorld flavor and Division mechanics)
Honestly, I don't mind load screens. If the developer feels like they can make the game better in some way, but they need load screens to be able to increase playability for technical reasons, I tend to trust that the load screen was needed to provide a better game otherwise.
Damn... really Sad to see Rock go😢😢😢, Hercules Beetles are my favorite next to the Bombardier Beetles..But i agree with you fully, his spirit is still there, apart of the mist and watching over all life within & coming to Pantdora!! Will Miss you Rock!!!! Hopefully you can get a pair to introduce next time so there is a chance to mate😊😊😊!!
Project LLL looks more like a retry attempt at making something like Anthem but more open witha feel of something more on the end of Secret World lore and monsters
Disagree with the Trinity, lost ark, gw2, and the more pvp based mmos work fine without a babysitter and aggro puller. It ensures everyone in the group is playing well to pass mechanics. It also helps on queue times, although LA will definitely filter you out if your spec/gear isn't good

I get super passionate, humble vibes from her and would be flabbergasted if she was just faking it@@TheCooderix
They got some big hires this year too including lead writer of ESO Wynne Mclaughlin as Senior Narrative Designer and Bill Trost, co-creator of EverQuest 1 and 2 and just left Amazon after working on New World for 6 yrs, as lead game designer. Doubt they would join a scam
Also, 100k+ people have signed up for alpha 2 so be ready for tons of ppl to be talking about state of game, including me :)
If they f us, I will rage like never before and make sure they get turned into dust along with everyone else don't worry
@@TheCooderix Nothing you have said is true.
You know the man needs some money when he makes video about games launching 2030.
We all thought that this year was going to be a great year for the genre, and in the end look how it ended, without a single decent mmo of the few that came out.
We'll see how 2024 goes
What is the tune in the background starting at the Ghost section (5:30). I've heard it many times but I'm completely drawing a blank where it's from.🤣
Thanks for the overview. Lots of interesting MMO's coming out. Just a heads up - the Odyssey review featured mostly Palia (I think that's what it was), not scenes from Odyssey.
Yeah there is no odyssey footage available yet
Thanks I was wondering what game that was
That's gameplay from Deadside, wish it did better it was a fun game.
Waiting for the day a game is able to figure out how to have strategic group orientated action combat. Tab targeting feels outdated but every action combat game we've ever had makes other players feel like NPC's. If anyone can ever combine the best of both it'll truly be the next generation MMO
True, would love to see action combat with the depth of tab target
i would recommend Gw2 it has both tab targeting and action combat
Darkfall online was the goat, but the shit devs that inherited the game from the people who actually made it ruined it. It had a couple of re-releases and one of those is looking at a steam release, but it’s not the same anymore.
Fundamentally not possible, that's why the future will see the return of tab targeting.
Black desert online.
Bro I cant wait for a new Star Wars MMO, kinda tired of medieval and asian stuff
Lol AOC is another scam mmorpg my man. They won't deliver
ashes of creation is a SCAM
Classic doubter@@bolt6572
Cant wait!!!!! I believe in the game too
I sure do hope the game is amazing but for me visuals of gear and progressing your character in coolness is just as important as power, because of this ashes is massively p2w. Literally a huge amount of ppl play to farm cool characters just as much as some play to farm best stats on the gear, and theres an extreme cost and amount of limited availability fomo overload in ashes.
Pax dei is a new contender for best MMO, might not be out for 2024 but they already start with alphas
Pax Dei won't be in the same category as most MMOs like WoW or New World though so it's hard to compare.
yeah seems more open world survivalish@@Justme-ip3wc
I miss Asheron's Call seamless world with instanced dungeons.
I'm confused, @18:43 you are still talking about Odyssey but showing Palia. Is Palia coming out soon? Is it supposed to be on this list.
Yea im surprised like noone else said anything.
I miss Tera for this as well. Still looking for a replacement
Tera was amazing. The BEST action MMORPG there was. pure greatness
@@vulcanviduus252 I still doing it aswell. Didn't found a replacement yet.
Most looking forward to the Riot-adjacent ones and the Zos one!
My dream MMO is a seamless world, that lets you guild up, but solo also. If your character can morph in a way that no other can, a way to overpower against the world. I think City of Hero's is a good example of this.
OMG!! I'm most excited for whatever ZOS has coming!
So i had enough time to learn the pattern of despair lol
When did quit ESO, think i actually had enough of the whole company and cannot trust them in other products also.
My advice to you if you play ESO, do NOT invest much extra money on it, or might have feelings of regret after the initial and hits endgame and notices the problems (technical performance, lag, bugs, Devs hating their own players feeling) so you don't get that sunk cost fallacy hitting feeling. Because both pve trial scene and pvp scene is DEAD in that game, so small that everyone knows each others by name. So you know it's not healthy situation. Play it like single player game is my advice and be ready for performance issues wrecking nerves if go try pvp in primetime. That is all.
Seamless open world, third person,no micro transactions, no forced pvp and a small sub works for me.
Zos, made by Bethesda I am a big fan of eso so I am looking forward to that one
@LuckyGhost Ur video is rly great! I'm soooooooo looking forward to so many of these 😊
Buuuuut I noticed u showed in your vid 1 of my fav games Palia under the Blizzard Oddessey timestamp from here 18:44 but you don't mention it anywhere so thought I might point it out as I see you give credits to all other stuff and don't want you getting in trouble ❤
I just want a new Asherons Call.
7:22 LOL I saw the Blizzard entertainment logo and insta clicked to the next game!
Blizz Cancelled it Anyway.
I wish ZOS listened to their player base. They seem to have a certain contempt for their players. They treat their players like cash cows. ugh.
We are cash cows to them Zenimax doesn't care they believe they made the perfect game.
Im hooked!💘
Even hearing the music again while you talk about project LLL, bring back so many memories.🤗
Very nice lineup, Im sure we are looking forward to some great games, over the next few years.
I love you videos Man keep making them but it's a little frustrating to hear about games that might come out 5 years from now not really interested in those due to how many things can change before 5 years is up
And proceeds to NOT mention 2024 games that look AMAZING
Wow. Odyssey looks a whole lot like Palia. I mean, just like it. lol.
Must be a mistake he made. Halfway Odyssey he switched to Palia LOL
Blizzard have no innovation left. At one time developers copied Blizzard, now Blizzard are just doing their own versions of other games.
The first segment of Odyssey looks like a remade version of Deadside. I hope that they are not going to try that.
@@TKKelley I was looking for someone talking about this, it looks so identical to deadside that I'm fairly sure those clips are from deadside >.

Did you ever play Black Desert Online? IMO that game has the best action combat in the world for MMO's.
Is this a reboot of the old LoTRO game that has been around for a long time? Played the old one alongside EQ2.
People don't change their mindset so easily, so the games that they design will bear huge resemblances as it reflect their personalities.
what game was used in the background footage for the ZOS MMO?
SWTOR
Star Wars: The Old Republic. Which is still out and going strong btw.
Strong? Depends on your definition. Definitely out-going I think because they are not developing any new contents for this game for years already. They just recycle more of the old 'content' like new stronghold, new stuffs that are a reskin of sort from old content.
I’m still sticking to FFXIV. It has everything I want in an MMO. I’ve been subscribed since September 20, 2010 early access.
Plus you can win prizes (non-fish) for deep sea fishing, including a shark mount.
good for you. I cant stand ff14 and it is not up the standards i look for.
@@monalisa-bs4zs what is lacking for you in the game? Class specializations and horizontal progression?
Aww bless your heart, thinking ARK 2 was coming out anytime soon let alone at all.
Maybe I'm getting old, maybe Im already tired of all these cash grab, p2w, loot box games, but not even one of these games catches my eye or inspire any interest.
Yeah video games should be WAY more advanced at this point i agree
Yeah, 3 seconds viewing each game and you can tell none of them will come close to WoW. It's just a ridiculous statement.
Final Fantasy 14 is the only closest one that compete with Wow as of right now.
Awesome as always,
Lucky! Thank you and happy new year!
Same to you!
at this point i enjoy more watching MMORPG list that actually playing MMOS lol.
Yeah i kinda agree
I like playing alotta video games but man mmos are just way too much
The only ones I'm keeping a careful eye on are Ashes of Creation and Runeterra.
Careful because I've been burned so often before.
Agree i sucked at pvp cause PC buy console im the prince of terror
Yep. Lame af. If you focus on pve/crafting/anything but pvp, why play mmo? Better of playing sp or “local/private multiplayer”
Doing the exact same thing 1000 times to get a new piece of gear to do the exact same thing 3 seconds quicker is the most boring gameplay in existence imo.
Ashes has taken millions and millions from kickstarter too.
I hope the new LotR mmo continues to use the sound effect of actual bones breaking when you take fall damage. Great video as always! I'm excited for Soulframe.
THe lord of the rings MMO by amazon has been canceled. Several reasons have been given but as of now it's not happening sadly.
@@Zorlac this is false. It was canceled when a publisher in the east fell through. They started over and its now happening again
I played the old LoTRO, the game was fun for its time, and I played it alongside EQ2. Is the one being shown a reboot?
There is a new one being made, but next to nothing is known about it so far.
One day an MMO will overtake WoW in the long term, but I wouldn't make any bets on it happening any time soon.
Umm, why was there content from Palia playing when you talked about Blizzards Odyssey? That might confuse people.
ArcheAge was amazing and the early p2w was very mild and really only balanced work/life/play. But as time went on, it moved much more into cash grab p2w and so everyone quit when normal people couldn't keep up with the whales. I still greatly miss the Alpha version of New World.
DE has said that soulframe will have the same market. So don't worry. We are going to have fun!!!
99% of these games will either never come out, be incredibly p2w or stay in EA forever. Zero reason to be excited about any of these games.
I am excited about that 1%. Just don't know which game is that 1%? That is the excitement.
Currently playing New World, looking forward to these.🍾🍾
18:46 Why the heck does the video switch to Palia footage? Maybe should check the editing lol
What game is shown during the ZOS MMO part? (Star Wars "Theme")
that is one of the Cinematics from Star Wars: the Old Republic an MMO from Bioware, no clue why they used it for Zos since it wasn't made by the Same Studio
My favorite game of all time was Star Wars Galaxies. I'd like something like that again.
Great video, thanks for the updates!
I greatly enjoyed the self merchant trading system in lineage 2.
Eight videos SO LARGE that they span over 15 games! Great summary. I am most excited about the new ZOS game. They figured out a meaningful loop and the biggest limitation to ESO at this point is its engine.
Under promise and over deliver as they say. Ya I look forward to seeing what their second attempt at an mmo looks like
I'm probably never going to get what I want... which is a world so large you can get lost. No teleportation.. no mercy in the wild.. every one starts in approximately the same area.. the further you manage to move away from the starter area the tougher it gets.. the idea has been tried but so long ago most have never see it. With ai to help you can finally build compelling non repetitious content
Interesting video mate
The Lotr's demo that was shown was from Return to Moria which is already out, and the Blizzard Odessey was footage from Palia....
Looks like World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online have a bright future ahead.
@Justincruz_official If you can do both, by all means!
Like one of them is set to release in 2024. . .
Zenimax hasn't done anything to ESO in a couple years and now I know why. I'm not buying this when they half-arsed ESO and raised prices.
Do Ghost and Runeterra take place in the same world? Might be the developer overlap but there are character similarities in both games per the clips you used?
We have no footage of those games as of yet, so we don't actually know what either will look like. That was generic trailer footage from riot games which is what I'm guessing will be a large inspiration for both
I can dig it! @@LuckyGhost

Nice, Console getting some more MMOs 💪🏾
i need a MMO like leauge, a game that you can always play even when u stop for 1 year and come back
The Trinity works and all, but I'd really like to play as supports that aren't healers sometimes. A lot of times.
I'm gonna be in my mid 40's when that LotR game comes out.
Loadscreen within zones is the most realistic one regardless of what people want. Tho it would be better if you can do something while the game loads like open your inventory or something else.
what was that game in-between odyssey and horizon, the game play just changed completely and it looks cool!

that is palia
SWG didn't really have a global auction house. It did, kinda, but barely anyone used it. Having your own vendors, especially if there's persistent non-instanced housing was very cool IMO.
They had the bazaar. It was very much used.
Ashes of creation wont have anything global, gotta physically transport things to other nodes to sell them :)
Bind on pickup rewards can still be bought with money - it just makes the process a little more complicated
Releasing an mmo unfinished is certain death unlike other genres
aye okay. Leona going up against Pantheon is def what support dmg would do...
Keep it coming !
I am surprised that you didn't mention Pax Dei and Chrono Odyssey ! Those 2 are on my target list ...
the thing i worry about is the last two mmo's i bought started blocking vpns so i couldn' (wouldn't) play them anymore. unfortunately they were both after many months of release/game play so it's not like i could buy the game, test it and get a refund after a couple minutes of failing to get on it. i'd hate to think they do this on purpose to get as many people in at the start...but both were by amazon so i'm pretty leery of amazon now. (one was a release to the western market but i think it was under their sponsorship)
Your footage for "Odyssey" was just footage from the game Deadside (good game btw)
As a former player of a game called deadside I've noticed that for the game odyssey is using deadside clips.
It also helps on queue times, although LA will definitely filter you out if your spec/gear isn't good
Pre-made stories in games are an out of date concept. Players want their own unique stories that naturally evolving in a solid game world
Why did you show Deadside the Game as the Game playing in the background for Blizzards Odyssey?
