    This is a great move by Mopar. Bolt on lift that can assure a great fit and articulation with the most used tire sizes on Jeeps. 35's Using high quality Fox shocks and allowing warranty. Unless you need like a niche rock crawler or something this suspension is great for 95% of Jeep owners who explore, overland, commute, trail ride.

    I did this lift today by myself. Took all day and I'm not completely finished. I stripped one of the sway bar links and one of the bottom shock mount bolts. Probably my fault to be honest.
    Those front bump stop extensions are incredibly difficult to install. I used a clamp to hold the bump stop extensions down while I tightened the nut down.
    Don't expect to not run into some problems while installing this lift

    It may seem a bit unfair for the tools you've listed for requirement but you ended up using impact wrenches and other additional tools and equipment. Many of us average customers just don't have the luxury or even garages. But no harm in done, it was a great video and thanks for sharing.

    I installed this lift this weekend. It’s possible in a garage by yourself, but I would just pay the dealership to do it. I measured the height of the fenders and midline before and after. Total increase in height was over 4”. That’s before tires.

    Couple of things:
    - If you're installing this on a Jeep that's been driven up north for a few years and has some corrosion, some of these bolts are a bitch to break.
    - The top bolt on the driver's side upper control arm shield is a bastard to take off, and even worse to put back in.
    - The lower rear shock mounts are not in a perfectly designed position, and again, if you've driven the jeep for a few years, there's a good chance one or both of them are bashed in.
    - The steering wheel was 30 degrees off at the end of the job.
    Job schedule: 2 experienced technicians with a lift, jack stands, and ALL necessary tools = 6 hour job.
    Good Luck!

    Great video. A couple of statements that were inaccurate, but overall great job. You really should comment on the front springs you installed wrong. Check the Mopar instructions and you will see the red on the left and blue on the right. This is indicated by the serial numbers on the diagram in the instructions which correspond to the numbers on each spring. If folks follow your instruction, they will be doing it wrong, and the result will be a difference in the height of the vehicle of 1/2" from the DS to PS.

    Excellent video! I have this lift on my Rubicon and it drives/handles and rides superbly. I was expecting the ride to be fairly stiff, but it is not. It rides very smooth but still handles well. I highly recommend this lift.

    A 2 inch lift, will fit 37 with no trimming on a Rubi. It does on mine. You need a bit of fender trimming for 40's.

      Yep. Doing a lift with big meats underneath and lower gears, is kinda what a 2 door Rubi is all about. The new model just invites this, as the new stock shafts and chassis is so nicely beefed up over that of my previous JK:)
      Now I just need Edlebrock to get the blower on the market and it's pretty much set.
      The Rubicon is like a Corvette, BMW or Harley. The aftermarket add-ons and hop-ups just goes on for ever.
      Keeping your Wrangler stock. Is like making your model girlfriend keep all her clothes on. Very pretty, capable and nice, but you know that there's so much more fun to be had if you tinker underneath;)

      Do yourself a favour. Get one of these two kits instead. I run the Evo kit and a friend of mine run the Icon. While the Evo is more expensive than the Mopar kit, it's no much better it's not even funny.

    You said the Rubicon can fit 35's with this lift with some trimming. The 2018 JL Rubicon can actually fit 35's with the stock suspension and NO trimming, due to the stock hi-line fenders (which will also be an option on the other Wranglers in April). With the 2" Mopar lift, you can easily fit 37's on the Rubicon, without trimming.

    • @MrBrettmpollard
      @MrBrettmpollard 6 років тому

      Michael Corbin I hear you can even put 37’s on the Sahara. They said you couldn’t do extensive off-roading but it will work.

    • @78moleyman
      @78moleyman 6 років тому +2

      I did state in the video that you can run 35's with the lift, and you can run 37's with some minor trimming, and that only depends on the backspacing of the wheel.

    • @michaelcorbin
      @michaelcorbin 6 років тому +2

      I know. And I more accurately stated that, because the JL Rubicons have highline fenders standard, you can run 35s on the stock suspension with no rubbing and no need for trimming, and 37s with the Mopar 2" lift with no rubbing or need for trimming.

    Curious if you guys noticed a bow in the spring on the front drivers side. I have seen this on several jeeps with this install including mine and it looks like in your shots you have the same issue. I'm curious if you guys resolved this issue. With such a definitive curve I'm afraid the spring will pop out or come in contact with the bump stop. I noticed that everyone has installed the front coil spring retainers with the flat piece facing out towards the wheel. The instructions state the flat side should be facing inboard, which I assume means away from the wheel. I'm curious if this is causing the bow.

      qkhalili The stock track bar is solid so when you install a lift it will pull the axle off center. You can get a decent adjustable track bar for a few hundred dollars to re-center the axle. Is it true Rubicon has beefier parts underneath vs. sport and Sahara?

    • @dmwil1
      @dmwil1 6 років тому +2

      The Rubicon has larger/stroger/wider Dana axles/housings, but things like sway bar links, tie rods, and other bits and pieces should be the same. The Rubicon also has a different transfer case and shocks, and probably different spring rates. The lift kit is the same for Rubicons and non-Rubicons, including springs and shocks, so that should tell you they are not too different, overall.

    • @CJBroncoF150
      @CJBroncoF150  6 років тому

      Great point above, the rubicon does have stronger axles underneath, plus a more robust transfer case.

    • @FlubR
      @FlubR 6 років тому

      yes but there is no advantage to buying a rubicon if you plan on going to a 40 inch tire other than the 4:1 transfer case its a little lower ratio than the sport and sahara but not worth the extra $$
